Jack Slomovits shot our ceremony in 2005. I am happy to say that what he delivered was pure magazine quality work. No boring posed smiley shots or otherwise stereotypical wedding pictures. He captured unoticed moments during the course of the day that we can now look back and truly see what a unique and happy day we had. He's very easy to work with and never involved himself with the affair. When I told Jack that one of our guests asked me why we didn't hire a photographer, He said that was one of the greatest compliments he's had. When my husband and I saw Jacks online gallery, we knew immediately that he had to shoot our wedding. Every photo we received could be a magazine cover. He was incredibly professional and friendly through the whole process, giving us ideas for images we would never have thought of ourselves. With everything going on, Jack was right there with a joke and a smile and kept us all from going insane! Well always have our memories, but to see our wedding captured so perfectly, its like reliving the whole day. He even captured moments that Mike and I didnt even see ourselves. We are telling everyone we know about Jack and his beautiful work! He was unobtrusive and professional on our wedding day, which we were so grateful for (I've been to weddings where the photographer was really in the way). But now that we see the photographs, we're just overjoyed. He captured charming photos of relatives that are hardly what we'd call photogenic and seemed to know when to steal the most perfect candid shots simply everywhere. I don't know how we'll be able to narrow down the proofs to select the ones for the album, especially since so many of them are worthy of framing already. Jack and crew did a wonderful job doing our wedding. Our wedding was an orthodox jewish wedding, where there were many opportunities for an inexperienced photographer to slip up. Jack never missed a beat. Not only was everything covered in the most artistic way we could have hoped, but we hardly even knew he was there. He was everywhere--yet nowhere to be seen; he seemed to blend in to the environment, and allowed our wedding to unfold rather than being faked or staged. I highly recommend Jack for your occasion. Jack is fantastic. He photographed our wedding in may 2006. We had the 2 hour deal and we are truly amazed at what we have for our money. Around 300 fabulous pictures. He was good fun, unobtrusive ( my family and I are camera shy, my husbands are not). No stereotypical wedding photos. Like everyone else has said all our pictures could be on a magazine cover. They have really shown what a lovely relaxed wedding we had. I have certainly never seen such good pictures of us all. My husband I had our first meeting with Jack before we even picked a place, and he happened to refer us to a location we wound up using for our afternoon wedding. He even gave us suggestions for places to take pictures before the wedding. In fact, Jack was the first decision about the wedding we both totally agreed on (besides the actual getting married part). My husband of two months and I are still all astonishment and amazement at the pictures Jack took of our intimate (less than 10 friends and family members in attendance) ceremony. With so few people to photograph, you'd have thought we'd be stumbling all over each other, but no! He was the very definition of professionalism and discretion (honestly, we still can't figure out how he took some of the intimate shots that he took. . .) He was also brilliant in adapting to last-minute changes and circumstances beyond our control (i.e. the weather, our missing limo) and guilty of perfect improvisation (he correctly surmised that I am a public transportation snob and subway lover, so he took us underground at Grand Central Station and snapped some impromptu shots on the subway). The pictures are all ""uniquely us."" I have never seen such soulful shots of my father, sister, and brother-in-law; somehow, he managed to capture the essence of all our personalities on film without us ever realizing it. AND, on top of everything else--I look not only beautiful but THIN in his pictures ;) You can't do better than Jack. Book him while you still can. We travelled to New York from Scotland to be married earlier this year and arranged most of the wedding over the internet. We were attracted to Jacks photojournalistic approach with intrigue.. turned out to be superb! We have our perfect day beautifully captured in a mix of family 'posed' pictures, snap shots of all aspects of the day and superb photographs of our location. We lived in Dubai at the time we were planning our wedding and contacted Jack via email because the description of his style and what he provides on his website sounded great. It was all true and then some. He was very helpful prior to the wedding and was fantastic on the day. The photos are terrific and the only problem is deciding which of the 700 to put in the album becuase they are all amazing. Jack was very flexible and made great suggestions. We live in the UK and booked Jack Slomovits by email after viewing his online portfolio. We actually based our wedding date on the dates that Jack would be available to photograph it. Just the two of us travelled to NY for the wedding in Central Park. Jack was professional, punctual, friendly and unobtrusive. We hardly remember him being there, but have 180 amazing colour and black & white photos that capture the day to perfection. It looks like we are in a glossy magazine photo shoot. After meeting with several photographers and seeing many books, and more online galleries, Jack's work really caugt my eye. He is an artist, which I responded to immediately because my husband and I are performing artists. Jack's work breathes, and he captured what it felt like to be at our very unique and special celebration. (The only shot we didn't get was a simple, posed shot of the bride and groom smiling at the camera.) Also, he works on film rather than digital, and does black and white prints as well as color, which was very important to me. There IS a difference between digital and film. Jack uses the camera to create amazing time-lapse effects, capture dramatic lighting, and moments we didn't even know about. Jack and his assistant were gracious, personable, and inobtrusive. My husband and I got married at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Pier in NYC. Unfortunately it poured the whole day, and our daytime city shots with Jack had to be cancelled. Instead, Jack truly made the most of what atmosphere and creativity we had at our hotel, in the limo and at the Lighthouse where they opened the ""garage doors"" for us so we could have our water, boat and skyline back drop....misty as it was! Jack did an outstanding job photographing our wedding in California this summer! I attended a recent wedding photographed by Jack Slomovits. It was a beautiful intimate affair and this photographer managed to photograph it without interfering with the ceremony or the reception - but having just seen the wedding album, I know that he captured every aspect of the celebration.
