Houston's Pompano

Stay away! Servers are rude, food isn't good, bread is almost always stale. Houston's corporate needs to get involved. The location is amazing, everything else is not. Please save our Houstons! We love it in Pompano, it just needs a food/service makeover badly. The decor is still fantastic. more

We walked in on a Tuesday and had an hour wait. The beer selection was one of the worst I have ever seen, if want what you drink you better byob. The drinks are pricey. As we waited we noticed several open tables and no one sitting in them , all clean and ready to go ? We were finally seated and were hoping for some appetizers, once again the worst appetizer menu on the planet, your by the water and you don't have calamari , scallops , French fries or baked potato for and appetizer ? The main courses were pricey and were not worth the money , the portions are small. more

If you want to throw your money away Houston Restaurant in Pompano Beach is the place to go. \r \r The prices were ridiculous. The portions were puny. The fish I ordered was half burnt.\r \r Do you think they could provide a salad or a bowl of soup with the chintzy portion I was served. I felt like an idiot. I felt violated. I must have been a schmuck to go to this place. I'll never go back and I would advise you do the same. I spent $45. for my wife and myself and I was very disappointed.\r \r And to top things off, when the bill came it was incorrect. They overcharged from what the menu stated. I told the waitress and she said ""Are You Sure""? She really didn't care, but she then brought back the corrected bill. I left her a tip out of pity.\r \r I ate at Denny's the next night and for $7.99 on the senior menu I had a really great Dinner!\r more

My favorite Houston's because it's hidden and quiet and the lighting is perfect. Of course the food is always perfect! more

Houston at Pompano Beach doesn't allow people with disability get in the place, because they have their own interpretation about what is a ""Disability Person"". Last Saturday (5/52012) they denied that my Pet Service get in the place, because the said that my problem is not a disability problem. it is incredible that such events happen in USA, and specially in a Restaurant that has to obey the ADA Act, and has not its own interpretation and rules..IT IS NOT LEGAL more

I always order the ahi burger. The food is always consitent and the service is professional. The ambiance and intracoastal view is worth the wait! more

Went on March 6, 2012 with 4 adults and 2 children and was told there would be a 2 hour wait, despite there being only a handful of people waiting. Went outside, called the restaurant and asked what the wait for 6 people would be and told 45 minutes!!! Guess they don't want kids in their restaurant but they should post this. Hostess was very unfriendly, Will never go back to this restaurant. more

Went February 19,3012 after not going last year. Very disappointed,. The once delicious smoked salmon was tasteless and greasy. The ribs were dry and scaty in quantity. The exorbitant price was not commensurate with quality. more

I had this salad at Houstons recently and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten!! So far that was my first trip to Houstons but I will definitely be going back to try more. more

My wife and I frequent many fine restaurants in NYC and Miami Florida area and we used to frequently eat at the Houston's on Atlantic in pompano beach until today. They treat good paying customers like dirt. We have never experienced such a incident and obviously it has bothered me enough to make this posting here on new Years day of all days!! The manager on duty Zachary hatem was not able to handle a simple situation that occurs in most restaurants daily and was not only offensive and rule to myself and my wife but had the nerve to tell wife after she called to follow up with her complaint never to eat at the restaurant again. Well thank you for 10 plus years of being a frequent customer. I suggest mr Zachary hatem find another line of work. But the problems at this Houston's go beyond just one horrible manager nAmed Zachary hatem. I've been going here for 10 years and only ordering the BBQ ribs which are good but the service has been lacking for some time now and after this experience I've promised to myself never again. If you like ok food and don't mind being treated like cattle then you should consider this restaurant. Otherwise stay away. The problem with or lack of customer service starts with management and jerks like Zachary hatem and then reflect the entire staff. more

whlie watching the boats go by.. we had the the Spinach and Artichoke Dip..I had veggie bugers & fully loaded baked potatoe.. My husband had the Grill Chicken Salad..wish we had the restaurant back home.. more

Always great and the atmosphere here is on the water way and a great date spot. Reasonably good Wine list. Don't miss out on their yummy crab cakes and mouth watering fillet Mignon. If your lucky it is tortilla soup day (actually 2 days a week). Simply delicious. I love the Key lime pie although it is not a traditional recipe, it is a sinfully great one. more

I gave Houston's a less than stellar review in Feb 2010. I must say I went there with friends on Sunday July 31 and the food was back to wonderful. We waited a very long time which was ok because we could visit with our friends beside the dock and enjoy the ambience. The wait was worth it because we had the most awesome trout ever! Baked loaded potato was terrific and the drinks were great! Keep the quality up!!!! more

We had dinner there last week with friends from Canada and for the first time ever, we were a bit disappointed. We have always chosen Houston's as a must dining experience for many years with friends and out of town guests, sent gift cards for holiday gifts, etc . The person who served us was less than we expected from our past experiences for years at this location. The yellowtail snapper was very good, but the portions were really stingy and the potatoes underneath the fish? where were they? Paid extra for broccoli, why? I realize and totally understand the difficult times we are all experiencing during this economy, but you could really increase the vegetable portion and still make a profit. We have new folks visiting us tomorrow and they want to go to Houston's and we will take them there . I just hope somewhere along the way you will find a way yo provide the wonderful service you used to have and give customers some value. It would be a real shame to lose the Houston's on the water that so many folks love! more

I love Houston's. However, the one on Atlantic is my favorite. Great French Dip, Ron makes the best mojitos, and the door side service is friendly and timely. All the way around, tops!! more

My boyfriend and I went here the other night for our anniversary, and I haven't been since I was ordering grilled cheese sandwiches off the kids menu. It was fabulous! We put our name in for a water table and had to wait roughly an hour but it was the night before Thanksgiving. It attracts a much older crowd, but we didn't mind. Sat at a high top overlooking the intracoastal and had drinks while waiting for our table. We each had a burger and it was to die for. Fresh ground meat perfectly cooked, sharp cheddar cheese, and I've always loved their shoestring fries! You even get a choice to have leaf lettuce or shredded lettuce on your burger which is great because I prefer shredded. Customer service was AMAZING. We witnessed a rude customer making a scene in front of us and since the manager saw that we witnessed the incident, she came over to our table and apologized and offered us a free appetizer! WOW! I love this place! Definitely worth the wait, friendly service, and yummy burgers on the water! more
