It's been about 5 years since I have been to Houstons. I went for lunch and I'm happy to report that the service still kicks a$$, the restaurant is still spotless, and the food is very tasty. Oh yeah one more thing, It's still F'ing expensive ! \r \r We started off with a Appetizer of the Spinach and Artichoke Dip. For main Course, I had the Mushroom and Artichoke Soup with the House Salad with blue cheese dressing minus the chopped eggs. My wife had the Grill Chicken Salad. My son had a Cheese Burger with fries. The App. was good. It had a nice cheesy flavor to it, but I thought the portion was small. My wife loved her salad and my son said the cheese burger was one of the best he ever had. As for me I know what you are thinking, WTF Dan soup and salad ? Yes my friends somewhere in my belly was lurking my breakfast, a Dandee Donut, a Sausage and cheese bagel with home-fries covered in coffee. Guilt drove me to soup and salad and a quest be be sexy as lets say, Lourdes Z on Yelp:) The soup was delicious. It was creamed based and not as heavy as looked. Good mix of mushrooms and artichokes packed with an earthier flavor (see pic). The salad was on point and it tastes exactly how I remembered it 5 years ago. Nice chunks of blue cheese and bacon served with one slice of cheese toast (see pic). Good stuff. \r \r Here is the kicker, all the above food, plus one Stella, 2 glasses of Steele Chardonnay, and water all for the price of....drum roll please... $100.49 with tip. $hit and all I wanted to get was a slice of pizza from the Italian joint around the corner from our hotel. Oh well such is life...lol. \r \r I have said it before, good food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere has it's price and it's not cheap. Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Hungry! more

This is my favorite place. Out the hundreds of restaurants I have been to, this is número UNO Service is locked down, management is spot on, food is basically perfect. Outside of my own cooking this is it. more

Great steak and burgers. A bit pricey but everything I've had here has been great. Definitely one of the best chain restaurants in Broward more

There's a restaurant up in Delray right along the intra-coastal that closed just recently (Buschs). It had a jaw dropping location right on the waterway... but just could not match the food of the other local restaurants, so it shut down.\r Without it's location, Houston's fate wold be the same. With it's very mediocre, bland, overcooked offerings, it thrives alone on where it sits.. (and lack of quality competition).\r Go for drinks, snacks (and the view)... eat your 'meals' somewhere (anywhere) else. \r And yea.. lunch costs less, but the results on the plate are still the same. more

I love the lighting in this place, great atmosphere. Friendly staff, and the food is remarkable. I live in pines and I take that drive to avoid the aventura location or the gables one those are nightmares, mainly due to the special people down there more

This is one of my all time favs but the prices have gotten crazy and the portions have gotten smaller. We used to wait for a table forever but not the last two times we've been, we were seated immediately Houston's, you are getting carried away... almost $20 for a small to medium french dip sandwich>>>>!? Come on! My all time fav, the chicken salad was half of it's original size and twice the cost and they forgot the cilantro and by the time they brought it my salad was a soaky mess, really left feeling disappointed. It's still good, but not amazing as it used to be. This sandwich, salad and burger place is now really pricey. more

Really nice place. Upscale, great ambiance and very romantic. Next to a draw bridge on the intercoastal. Skip the $10 mojito. Smoked salmon appetizer well worth the money. Rib eye and crab cakes were both to die for! Very nice experience! Will come back for sure. more

My two friends and I ate here on the last night of our one week vacation and although the wait was long (they do not take reservations or call ahead seating) it was sooooo worth it! They make the most delicious mojitos! Our food was amazing. We have a very picky eater and she rated her steak as the best she's ever had. The cilantro vinaigrette on the shashimi tuna salad was so flavorful and delicious. The key lime pie is to die for! The service was top notch! Pricey but worth every penny. Great place for a very nice date, special ocassion, or just because. more

Respecful, courteous waitress needed! 11/25/2007

Our experience on 11/24/07 at this location started off on a positive note. The bartenders, Vincent and Jeremy were extremely attentive and personable while we waited the forty minutes for our seats. However, the rest of our dining experience soon became appalling. It all started with a ""mix-up"" with the order; we were treated as though we were felons for our waitress's mistake. Personally, I believe that she (waitress) must have received a stern reprimand for the incident because when she returned with the correct meal she abruptly placed it on the side and offered no apology. Her attitude was evident for the rest of the night; she didn't check on us, refill our glasses, and made no attempt at eye contact. We've eaten at a few Houston's in the South Florida area. Obviously, we were taken aback by this treatment! In the past two weeks my boyfriend and I have been dining out at high end restaurants such as Barton G, Morton's, and Ruth Chris to name a few, not only was the food delectable, the service was phenomenal! I guess the old adage is true- you get what you pay for!!! Clearly, the wait staff at this location needs to be reminded that customer satisfaction should be their number one priority. Pros: Great bartenders Cons: Poor wait staff more

No To Go, No eating in the bar, not convenient at all!! 10/8/2007

Houston's has great food, but inconvenient policies. I recently went to eat alone on a whim when I was told I can only eat appetizers in the bar. After I was informed that there was no take out, my only option left was to wait 40 minutes for an large awkward table that emphasized my lack of company. No thank you! I retreated upset that I couldn't easily enjoy a Houston's burger for an OK burger at Flanigan's bar which allows ordering from the menu at the bar. This is a serious kink that Houston's needs to resolve to become a better restaurant. Pros: Great Food on the Water Cons: No To Go. No eating in the bar. Not convenient at all! more

GREAT! 2/19/2007

I had better luck at this one 10/5/2005

However, this Houston's is way busier. Perhaps because it overlooks the intercoastal waters. Anyway. Service was great in spite of the business. I felt welcomed and cared for immediately. I loved the smoked salmon appetizer. I so much enjoyed thier popular Hawaiian Rib eye steak. Cooked to perfection. I have never had a bad experience at this place. However, go early and be prepared for a noisy evening. more

Not up to par for Houston's 3/10/2004

I have eaten at many Houston's across the south and this is the first Houston's that I found the food to be of poor quality in addition to the service being below par. Had prime rib and it was not prepared well or a good cut of meat. Can not compare to O'Charley's prime rib. Will not waste my time or money to go back to this Houston's. Pros: Seated Promptly, Great Location Cons: , Food Quality, Food prep more
