Homepointe manages slums 1/10/2012

Homepointe property management takes a hands off approach to management and is absolutely non-existent when problems arise. I cannot believe the amount of passing the buck that occurs and red tape between maintenance, Homepointe, and the property ownership. Our entire building has been without hot water for three days which is illegal. My kitchen light and my oven have been ignored for over a month, in addition to unsafe railing conditions on my second story deck. The property here is constantly filthy, and they do not screen tenants at all. Working with this company has been an absolute nightmare from day one, and James Safanov is no less than absolutely incompetent when it comes to caring about the properties that he manages personally. A proactive approach to management is nowhere in his vocabulary. I have no idea where these positive reviews come from, do not forget to view the nightmare reviews on Yelp before doing business here. Consumer beware. more

Anytime i have ever dealt with a maintenance call or anyone else contracted by your company, the experience has been positive, and professional. Overall 9 out of 10. Specifically regarding my property manager james, all i can say is you are fortunate to employ such an attentive professional. more

that we are EXTREMELY Happy here. The home is a great size so were not constantly tripping over each other. A frequent problem when both people are home a lot, the house itself is beautiful inside, and in wonderful condition, and the location is absolutely ideal for someone like myself who travels from my home to other homes all over greater Sacramento for work. And although there were several items that needed repairing around here, by and large you've taken care of almost every single one. In addition to that your openness about us installing those faux-plantation blinds, as well as your willingness to fore go the late fee(which you had ever right to charge us) and i think you've done a great job, Andy. I really wanted to tell you that. Compared to other "Landlords" or property management companies ive dealt with in the past, Homepointe (You in Particular) are a breathe of fresh air, and a real pleasure to deal with. more

I own a home in Roseville and brought Mike to handle the property. they did a wonderful job. the house was advertised right away, and I believe it was rented with a month. they are very careful whom they put in there. my tenant are professionals and haven't had an issue yet. I hope they become long term. more

Thomas at Homepointe Property Management has been excellent to work with. As a tenant, the rental property I live in developed a water leak in the backyard. While it did take a few calls to determine what exactly was wrong (main water line), Thomas has been monitoring the issue very closely for the past 4 days. He's been in constant contact with me inquiring as to whether the water company ever showed to fix the leak. He offered his cell phone and assurance that if the leak got any worse he would be readily available to assist. Thank you, Thomas - - you are an excellent example of true customer service! more

I have used James to rent up rental properties of mine around ten times, and i am very satisfied with his work. I have a very nice home next to my residence that i rent out, so it is very important to get a good tenant because they would be neighbors also. The Ford Family have become personal friends of mine and i couldn't be happier. more

I have never had an issue with Mike in regards to communication. From my experience he is on point when it comes to issues/needs of our property. Our whole goal in hiring a property manager was that we do not have to deal with the day to day headaches of being a landlord. Mike is very upfront on issues/expectations, he will tell you the honest truth (even if its not what you wanted to hear) more

Homepointe has a very informative and functional website, Shawn is professional and prompt in communicating, rental was advertised well, tenants were found very quickly and the rent exceeded expectation. Given a chance, I would definitely recommend Homepointe to someone I know. more

You guys don't waste time and I actually believe you do all it takes to rent properties. It shows in how fast you rented my rental home last time.I think it took less than a month if I remember right. And when there was anything wrong (maintenance issues) , your company fixed it right away and even provided pictures of the yearly inspections. I was with another rental company years ago, and they could not compare to you. Shawn Collins is a great rental agent. Very professional and diligent with her work, and always stays in contact with her clients. more

(PS) Make sure to read the many alter identities they have on Yelp as well) Wow. Where to start... if there was a way to do negative starts I can promise you that's what their average rating would be. I'm baffled how a company like this can stay in business these days. They have hands down the WORST customer service in any industry I have come across, period. The story: My wife and I have been looking for a new home to rent and we had the unfortunate luck of finding one listed under their name. First of all, they will only show a house on a designated day and for 10 minutes. Obviously to consolidate the viewers and to create false action so people feel they need to get in the application and fee ASAP. But in a time sensitive situation like renting a home and playing the balancing act of ending one lease and executing a new one with little to no overlapping rent, you can see how that policy is asinine. So anyways, we waited the 5 days to see the home and was herded through it like cattle to fit within the allotted 10 minutes. Even then we liked the home so put in a full application. We have great credit and at least 3 times the verifiable rent with perfect rental history, so no excuses. We did continue to look because we read negative reviews about Home Pointe online. We actually submitted 2 additional applications 2 days later because we were up against the clock and Home Pointe is IMPOSSIBLE to reach, they don't answer the phone! So needless to say we were approved on the other two homes (one an agency and one a private individual) within 48 hours. We STILL heard nothing from Home Pointe, I honestly think they were waiting for more applications to come in so they could keep collecting the $60 fee. At the end of the day we still liked the Home Pointe home best so we gave them an ultimatum. We said we are going to sign a lease elsewhere unless we get this approved (it's been over a week).... they never called back. We signed the lease with the other agency. Renters: So the moral of the story is RUN! Don't walk but RUN from this company!!! Home Owners. Why on earth would you list your home with them? They don't show your house, they don't answer the phone (go ahead and try it), they treat renters like second class citizens, they are obviously more interested in collecting their fee's on multiple applicants than getting your house rented! I can guarantee any of the dozen other agencies in Sacramento will rent your house in less time and give you happier tenants. To the owner of Home Pointe: Get involved with your company or it WILL go under. In this economy there is no room for this type of operation! more

Just Amazing 3/23/2011

The property was left in less than perfect shape and Mike was able to find people at reasonable rates to get it cleaned up, fixed up and rented with what appears to be good tenants. I think it took about a month to fill. more
