Terrible Service, Rude, Expensive, Never return phone calls. We have a property for rent and the rental agreement is under homepointe's management. They don't pay the utility bill on time, thus the city charges us for late utility bills. They won't fix problems that the renter called in. more

If you're looking for a property management company where you can talk to an actual person, get accurate info, get owed money returned or to be treated with any respect, avoid this company!! I paid application fees for myself and two other adults. It turned out someone was approved ahead of us for the particular house we applied for...which we found our for ourselves when the house was taken off their website (rude!). We contacted them again to have our application transferred to another house, same thing happened. Someone else got the house and by then we were so fed up with how shady these people had been so decided to get our refund and go elsewhere. Well now it's been almost 2 months and i'm still trying to get my application fees refunded. I've e-mailed, called, left messages but they do not respond. I keep calling and holding and holding until i can actually talk to someone, Tina says she'll call back, and doesn't. I call and leave more messages, no call back. I call and demand to wait on hold to talk to her (because there's always a reason they can't talk), and she informs me even though I am the one who paid ALL application fees, she can't give me ANY of the money. I have receipts for gods sake!! The first money order went toward mine and my sisters apps but apparently got "put on hers" (Yeah, makes no sense, i know!!), the other was turned in at a different time so paid separetly, still by me. Are they really so disorganized and incompetent they can't keep track of where their money is coming from!? And now we have to wait and see if they actually call my sister and other roommate back when they get the checks written up (seems a little shady that they won't just let them go in and have them written right then and there). Tina was also VERY rude to both me and my sister despite how patient we've been. This is absolutley ridiculous. Pros: None Cons: Disrespectful, unattentive, false ads. All they care about is taking your money more

They will rip you off! 2/14/2007

We rented from the company for about a year and a half. In that time we never once spoke directly to a live person other than the receptionist. There is always what seems to be an immediate canned excuse for why you can't speak to the person. Messages are not returned promptly, if at all. They are trying to rip us off with our deposit refund money by charging us for things that aren't missing or that we did not break. The house we moved into was never repainted for us or rekeyed. only after we had lived there for a year did they start to fix some things. Make sure if you are wanting to note things that you don't want to be held responsible for you get the correct form from them because we were not given it and just typed a copy and mailed it in, and that isn't good enough (besides they say they don't have it) If you are returning your keys on a weekend or a holiday, stick them in the box that you drop the checks into. Our agent (Shawn) tried to tell me that by saying that in the contract that the keys needed to be personally returned to the Property mgnt office, that meant they should be put in that box, though, like she said , the above is a very general statement, so how are we supposed to figure out that thats where they should have been dropped, when she never returns our phone calls?!? Pretty much the company is incompitent, and they will take you for all you are worth. So if you don't agree with them, fight it!! TRY ANYWHERE ELSE !! 9/20/2006

The first manager (Mark M) took several months to get a tenant. Disregarded the contract I had with them in every way possible. Rented for less than I stated, allowed 6-month instead of 1 year lease; Allowed pets, and granted free trash, sewer and water. The second manager (Rebecca L) not friendly on the phone; never kept her word on anything! She allowed maintenance/repairs to pile up for months at a time. Would promise to look into things and never get back to me. No regular updates to open issues; I had to call her. And when I called her I always had to refresh her memory. When I canceled in May to end service with HP on June 30, they still billed me for July. Definitely Avoid!! more

Expensive Property Management Company 4/3/2006

Particular Manager Shawn (female) not friendly, did not make me feel comfortable. Management Company expensive, want 8% of rent each month, and took a while to rent home. Beautiful home in nice area and WOULD have been rented for $1300 but she lowered it to $1125 w/o my consent! Pros: close to my home?, return calls promptly Cons: not friendly, expensive, hard to work with more
