What a dump! 12/2/2005

This hotel is a dump, It is extremely outdated and the staff was not very helpful at all. I stayed here for a week on business and would never go back! Pros: good view Cons: everything else more

What a disappointment! 7/28/2005

There's a lot of hype surrounding Holiday Inn these days, thanks to its aggressive promotional media campaign. Even though it enjoys a nice location, the Holiday Inn @ N.Orleans St. (Chicago) is one of the most inaccessible hotels for people with disabilities that I've ever been to. For example, it's a long way from where you park your car to the elevator that will get you to the lobby (on the 14th floor). Then, you need to take another elevator to get to your room. The lobby looks luxurious, but the rooms are a disappointment. We just won't consider it again when we return to Chicago (which we do every year due to business). Pros: location, downtown Chicago Cons: Handicap INaccesible, old and musty rooms more

Could not be better 8/22/2004

So many restaurants to choose from just within a few steps from the hotel... great location. The views where to die for. Seeing Batman being flimed right by the hotel was great. Parking is a current inconvienience... but temporary. You can not beat the parking ratee!!! Looks like the entrance facing the Chicago River will be beautifull. GREAT HOTEL FOR THE VALUE! I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Mart plaza 3 times while in Chicago and of all the hotels I have stayed at before, this one...for its price...would ahve to be the best, its no four seasons but its price isnt like that of a four seasons either. I had a corner room with a view that was unbelievable. Their priority club service is just amazing. They even have a pool on the 16th level! While the decor in some areas may need some updating, it is overall a nice hotel. Pros: Inexpensive, amazing views, friendly staff more

Ho Hum with a view 10/27/2002

Average hotel in a beautiful space. Designers wasted this potentially beautiful space! Had a corner room facing NW, absolutley beautiful view and huge room. Worth a few extra bucks. Staff needs a bit of a polish and more training, but no one was rude or completely inept. Hotel bar was sad. The bartender looked like he was going to quit if he only had the energy to walk to the manager's office to do so. Colours and decorations really need an update. Teal and seafoam green? Really?
