Horrendous pricing 12/20/2018

After being customers for a few years, we got hit with a huge bill. When we compared the prices to another oil company there was over a $2 difference per gallon. Absolutely ridiculous and the woman we dealt with from Hirsch was extremely rude. So glad we went elsewhere more

I am a twenty year customer of Hirsch Fuels. I had a new heating system installed yesterday and the team that came did a fantastic job. Service is awful 6/14/2018

In this day and age w all the technology, one would think that a customer can expect a service call to be scheduled within a reasonable time frame. I have no problem when I have an emergency. However when I have an appointment for maintenance or to fix something thats when they are at the absolute bottom of customer service! They waste your whole day and dont show up when they say they will. The service men complain about the company when they are working. The biggest problem of all is the lady who answers the phone! more

New install 9/7/2017

Hirsch just replaced my entire heating system. They were professional courteous and NEAT. Actually impeccable. I was completely satisfied and feel I was given a fair price. more

Word to the wise 1/10/2016

If they charged every customer the lowest possible rate they would be out of bussiness. When oil is up in price lets say $3.00 per gallon and you are locked in for $2.50 they would honor the price and im sure you wouldnt complain. Im not in the oil bussiness but im sick of all you people complaining about people making money to feed there kids just like you do. This is bussiness. They are not here to rub your back because you paid your bills, the supply you oil for the price YOU agreed on. yOU signed the contract. Why should they offer you a discount unless your contracts up? Would you pay the extra money if oil went up or tell them you have a locked in contract price? Rediculous more

charge various prices for same customers on same street. Supervisor( Kelly) does not return calls. Oil prices are high after long time customer to the company. Maybe Chris should take a more hands on look at what's going on. more

Warning to consumers 6/18/2015

I too have been a loyal customer of Hirsch fuel for over20 years. Their prices never go down even tho that is what they say they will do as they lock you into a cap price and keep you there. They are only concerned with making money off of your back regardless of what they promise. Office help are all nasty and need to be let go. Service is the worst in all New York. Don't learn the hard way go find another company . more

Buyer beware 6/17/2015

I have been a customer of theirs many years. I agree they are the worst rip off oil company on Long Island. They are way out of whack with prices to the tune of 2.00+ over a gallon. Then there service is bad as it gets. They have nasty little girls taking phone calls who need to be fired immediately. Sales rep is another hoodwinking piece of work. I am stuck for one more year then I will never dial them up again. Whatever you do , do not give them your money which btw they totally forget you are paying them. more

Loyalty 3/4/2015

I have also been a long steady customer of hirsch for 27 years they like All companies today do not care about your loyalty sorry to say that is a thing of the past nobody cares how long you are with them they only care about making money they offer new customers a better price to sign them on then the following year you will be charged the higher price I would think after 27 years they would offer me some sort of discount or fill my tank once on them as a thank you I dont want to even think about what I have paid them in 27 years I will say that the reason I have stayed with them is for the oil burner service and maintenance I am also smart enough to know that I have paid dearly over 27 years for this service nothing in life is cheap or free more

This company is not interested in taking care of their customers 2/6/2015

This company was charging $4.50 a gallon for oil when oil prices were dropping drastically. When we asked why they got really nasty. They refused to deliver oil and when our burner went down they refused to service it. They said we no longer had a contract with them. They left us with no heat in weather that had wind chills of 9 below 0. They are a company with no business ethic. We have been told by three other oil companies that it is a "third generation" business whose owners do not care about their customers just about the money. I realize other oil companies are competing with Hirsch but to have three companies say essentially the same thing tells me there is some basis for the criticism. My sister signed another company who is charging us 2.25 per gallon guaranteed price for one year. Hirsch also owns Mercury Security. Be careful of them as well. Other home alarm companies have a one to two year contract. Mercury's is 5 years. Our attorney is handling cancellation of the alarm. Its worth the cost just to be rid of Mercury/Hirsch. more

Hirsh rip off 1/28/2015

This company is the absolute worst out there! They are over priced, service is horrible and when you call the office the woman is just flat out rude!! How bad was my rip off?? Well they charged me $3.899 without my consent to deliver when Petro Oil signed me on for $2.489 that's right $ 2.489. THAT'S ROBBERY!!!! Do not use this company!!! more

My parents have used Hirsch Fuels for many years. As a first time homeowner, I signed with Hirsch too because my parents have always been very happy with their services. My husband and I have been very satisfied as well. They are reliable, professional and helpful. more

Takes advantage of good paying customers 7/8/2009

After my experience with Hirsch this past winter. I will be looking for a new oil company to service our fuel needs. This company has no integrity, and I hold the owner responsible for his poor treatment of customers. Don't sign on for auto delivery and don't sign on for auto payment. They'll take advantage of it. If you need to have service, or purchase a product from them, know what you are buying, or they'll take advantage of your lack of knowledge on pricing. Poor customer service from the people in the office. They don't care if they lose you as a customer. Towards the end of last winter, Hirsch was at my house pumping oil into my tank, every other week. They made a delivery four days apart. When I called, no one could give me an explanation as to why the oil was constantly being delivered. My conclusion was, the weather was getting warmer, and Hirsch was trying to make as much money as possible before their business slowed for the warmer months. more

will say that over the past years I have used this company and they have been good and reliable, their prices were even competitive for a full service fuel oil company. They do burner installations and repairs. This year, I was a little disappointed that they are not doing anything to keep me as a customer. I know and understand prices are rising, but you would think they would do something to keep their loyal good paying customers. I have been shopiing around (which I urge everyone to do ) and I have been finding better deals with companies that do not even know me. Just make sure you get the best deal before you sign!! more
