Thomas Hilligos Gallery Fraud 8/22/2011

In the wake of two lawsuits in which Mr. Ho accuses Mr. Hilligoss of withholding hundreds of thousands of dollars in payments for sculptures he says were sold out of Mr. Hilligoss' galleries in Chicago and, coincidentally, Long Grove (that studio has since closed). Mr. Hilligoss faces similar lawsuits by another artist and two gallery owners who say they haven't been paid for artwork displayed in the Hilligoss shops. Mr. Ho, who created an angel of peace given to Pope Benedict XVI for his 80th birthday, dubbed Mr. Hilligoss' galleries the Chicago-area home for his artwork just four years ago. Fraud is an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual this is what Thomas Hilligos is doing to people for over 23 years. more

An Art Gallery with More 8/16/2005

Hilligoss Galleries is located in the heart of the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. They have a very elegant, upscale design that looks like a museum. They sell original art work such as paintings, sculptures, and other decorative artwork. It's very well displayed. You feel as if you're walking into a mansion the way it is decorated. Be prepared to pay top dollar, though. This isn't a shop selling artwork like Ikea. It's for those who know their artists well and are INTO the arts. There were a lot of things I thought would look great in my office, unfortunately my wallet didn't agree. more
