This bike shop is a dream come true for future athletes. Some people do not know that these bikes range from 200 to 6000 dollars. I myself am looking for amazing road bikes at around 2000 i am only 16 years old and they treat you with respect and understand exactly what you want the bike for and what you need it for. as for the price of this store being high you could show them another website with the same exact bike and they will price match it for you so you buy from them. Also i am selling my bike for much cheaper it is a 2004 Specialized Road bike only 18 pounds for 800 with out shipment. you can contact me at bballgms@aol.com and i will tell you more information and pictures if you please. also this bike is a size 54. thank you more

Helen's Cycles 10/14/2005

My brother-in-law loves to bike, but never could afford the top-of-the-line bike he always wanted. So when his birthday came around last year my husband and I found this little place and asked them which kind of bike they would reccomend. They were very helpful and asked such things as his age, his skill level and his height. They reccomended for us to come back later that week when they would be having a new shipment coming in, including a bike that they felt was perfect, and happened to be the brand of bike that my brother-in-law had always wanted. We ended up purchasing the bike, some riding gear, and some accesories. more

Good Selection 10/3/2005

This store has been around for years. The staff are very friendly and try their best to find a bike that is right for you. I have been to the one in Pasadena only and purchased a BMX bike a few years back. Make sure that you go during the right time. I went a few days ago but they did not have very many bikes in stock. Their stock changes pretty fast so if you do not find the one you want ask them or come back at another time. Overall they are good at what they sell. more

great biking info and products 8/31/2005

The staff at Helen's Cycles are very knowledgeable folks who can help you resolve your biking problems and needs whether it's a new bike seat, gloves, sun glasses, or clothing, they have it all. You can purchase products and get your biked equiped with all your new gadgets while you wait. Biking stuff can get expensive, you look out for clearance sales and gently used products in the store. There are several stores in LA including in Westwood, Santa Monica, Venice, and Manhattan Beach. Oh, they also give discounts if you are doing a race for a charity. On a customer service note, I think they were great. I returned a bike pump months after I purchased it from a different store location, without the receipt. The pump was fine, except i found my old pump and didn't feel I needed two of them. They gladly took it back and gave me a store refund, which helped me out when I purchased a new helmet. more

Cute Little Bike Shop 8/20/2005

Helen's Cycles is a cute little bike shop. It has a family-run atmosphere and I felt comfortable leaving my bike there. Their service was friendly and efficient and timely. Their retail prices are a little expensive, but they have good selection and can order special models and pieces. Their selection of bike accessories is good and they make wonderful gifts for the biker/student in your family! more

Nice people and nice bikes, but they totally rip you off. 8/14/2005

Well, my boyfriend LOVES to bike, and since he had moved here recently when we visited Helen's, he didn't have a bike and couldn't have his old one sent out here. So we set out to buy a new one. Well, Helen's may be the only bike shop in Westwood, but I really don't feel like it's worth going to. Granted, the people working there are nice and funny, but bikes there cost WAY more than they should. We looked around and saw how expensive everything was, so I asked what their cheapest bike was, and they led me over to a dinky little bike that looked like it was meant for a 15 or 16 year old that was ON SALE for 200 bucks. I know places where you could get a bigger, nicer bike, for half that price. So if ou're looking for a bike, don't bother coming here unless you you have time and want a quick laugh. Or unless money means nothing to you. more
