I have been using Hawks Prairie Automotive since 1989. I continue going there because of their work and the people they have working for them. They do good work, and 90% of the time they get it done in a timely manner. They get it out on time, and it is done right. It is an all-around good place to go. more

I have been using these guys for a long time now and have never had a major issue. A few things have happened (minor stuff) that they take care of right away and seem to honestly care about my time and vehicle. I have been to several repair shops and have had issues with all of them but its how they take care of the problems that is what I like. I've read the other reviews and don't agree but I guess every one has different expectations. They have maintained my vehicle, let me know what it needs and If I don't have the money they help me prioritize what I need or help with a payment plan. I really appreciate the help they give me and my family and would recommend them to anyone. more

I have been using Hawks Prairie Automotive for many years, since I have moved up here. Sometimes the prices might be a little higher than other places, but they give me good service and nothing has gone bad with what they have done, so I keep going back to them. I would say that I have been going to them for over 15 years. They always look for other things that are wrong with my car, which it a plus for me because I want to know what is going on with my car. They are pretty good, and if something is wrong they find it. They are also great at following up and tracking routine maintenance procedures that should be done. Most places are good at oil changes but that is about it. Hawks Prairie also tracks my transmission fluid, cooling fluids, and when the brake fluid needs flushing. Though it is not as frequent, they also tell me when I need to change my spark plugs. This is a big plus to me. They do good work as far as I am concerned, and as a result I go to them for all my service on my 2 cars. more

Don't let them touch your car! Lazy techs, over priced, you will be out a lot of money for nothing. Dont make the same mistake as I did. there's gotta be a better shop out there. more

Hawks Prairie Automotive is close to my house, which is why I initially started using them. Now, I have used them probably 50 times because they do good work and they are fast. They have worked on 4 or 5 different cars for me and done everything from oil changes to engine replacement. They do a great job and they stand behind their work. I've been going here for years and until recently I've had good experiences with hawks prairie. I recently called in for a quote on some regularly scheduled maintenance for my wifes car and was quoted $150-$200 dollars I dropped off the car under my wifes name keys in the night drop off. When she called the next afternoon to check on status of her car the phone price went up to almost $600. They said that they had missed some maintenance costs that the manufacture recommended which is bs because what i was told needed to be done over the phone was what was on my recommended maintanance booklet in my glovebox. I dont want to call them liars and would like to give them the benefit of the doubt but this seams to be happening more with these guys than before. more

We brought our car into this shop to have a radiator leak fixed. We walked away paying over $800.. and still had a leak! In fact, it was worse than it was when we brought it in! To top it all off, this shop told us that our front brakes were under 20% and that we need to bring it back within the month to be safe. We took it to Les Schwab and were told that we have over 60% left on the front brakes! Beware of this shop. They do shotty work and overcharge you! Run away!! more

i am a widowed elderly woman and have been frequenting hawks prairie for at least 8 years. i have always had good service there. the staff are very kind and honest. i love them so much i always bring them goodies at christmas time. i tell all my friends to see my guys down at hawks prairie anytime they need any help. more

I am new to the area and both my vehicles needed work. I took them to Hawks Prairie Automotive and they did a great job. They treated me wonderfully. They fixed my cars in a timely fashion, shuttled me home several times and explained the work the cars needed. I was very impressed with the service I received and I will never take my vehiclles anywhere else. more

I took my husbands truck to get the oil changed and tired rotated and my Escape would not start I called them they took care of it all got it towed and fixed it that sameday. Very happy customer! Thus means I will be a customer for life you will not be sorry going here. I had no idea how to take care of any of this my husband normally does but since he is in Iraq its kinda hard. lol. I have had nothing but great experience with HPA. They are very friendly,knowledgeable and down to earth they don't talk above you which is something my wife appreciates. I've taken all my vehicles there and they have never done me wrong I would recommend them to anyone. more

I took my car in for a clutch replacement. I got it back with a broken speedometer sensor, O2 sensor, and alternator. On top of this the clutch was installed wrong and needed replacing after one week. All of this was verified by a different shop. They took no responsibility for the damage done, and were rude about the entire ordeal. If you are thinking of taking your car there, think again. It's worth paying slightly more at a different shop to get the job done right. more

I am military and took my Ford Probe to them for timing belt replacement. When they completed it, it sounded worse than when I brought it in. [] []I told them that it sounds horrible. They told me that is how Ford Probe sounds. I told them that I had the car for 7 years and this is the worst that it sounded. Then they told me that there was some bulletin that mechanics write about cars. They told me that they found a bulletin that Probes are loud after it gets new timing belt. [] []I was not happy with the answer so I took it to the Ford dealer. The dealer told me that the timing belt was off so bad that they have never seen a shop do such a bad job. They fixed it and it runs so quiet. [] []I went back to Hawks Prarie automotive to tell them that they did not do the job right. I want my money back minus the belts. They told me no. I told them that I am taking them to small claims court. [] []I do not want anyone to go through what I did with these guys. In the military they taught me honesty and value. If I am wrong, I apologize and try to make amends. These guys at Hawks Prarie Automotive have no honesty or value. They did not want to hear my side of the story. I don't know how they go to sleep at night. more

I have had all my vehicles serviced there since I've been able to drive. I was recommended to them by my parents, who are very picky service oriented people. I did have one problem but they were very fast to repair the situation and very nice about it. I had an exhaust leak about 6 months after they had installed a new muffler and took care of fixing it the same day I called. They have always made me feel comfortable. They explain everything I need and give me the price and the option first before doing anything. So I recommend them to my friends and any one who asks! more

I took my car there in June and they replaced the Catalytic converter. October came around and it was having problems again. We took it back to them because the part was under warranty. They told us that we would have to pay the $100.00 for them to look at it and then pay again for the labor IF it was the Catalytic converter again. They then told us that the engine was pretty much shot. We would have to replace all the oil gaskets, oil pump, timing belt (which was done less than a year and a half ago) along with the Catalytic converter, AGAIN. The employee told us that he knew someone who could take it off our hands since there was a lot of work to do. ($1500.00) When we went to pick up the car and take it somewhere else we were charged $107.00 for the shotty diagnosis and told that we would be lucky to sell it for $1000.00. (It is a Honda Accord and it is running). When we took it to the other mechanic we found out that Hawks Prairie had cleared the computer out so no one else was abl more

On my way to a family function my 97 Jeep Wrangler broke down. It was on a Friday afternoon, they still managed to get me in, even though I could tell they were already very busy. The staff was extremely friendly, and the service was wonderful. Prices were reasonable. They didn't treat me like I was a stupid girl - I felt very comfortable with them. They took the time to take me out to show me what was the problem. Thanks guys! Even though I live about a hour away - I will bring my baby back to you! more
