Awesome Place for Organized Happy Hours/Events 1/21/2009

Teach For America, Bay Area hosted its first Alumni Happy Hour at Harry?s Bar. The event was a huge success because of the professionalism of the staff. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced and the cocktail staff was truly stellar as they were able to serve drinks amongst our packed 60 guests. We were impressed with Harry?s ability to confirm and plan our event with quick turn-around and the manager was incredibly responsive and had great attention to detail. We would absolutely recommend the venue!! more

Pick-up Bar 4/24/2008

If you want to be seen, go to the biggest pick up bar on Filmore! Cocktails are reasonably priced and on most nights it's packed with the ""beautiful people"" all on the ""make"". Pros: Scene, cheap-good eats Cons: pick-up bar, super packed on weekends more

Bartender is worth going for 2/1/2008

Nice enough place, especially if you live close by..forget the big screens--the true scene is the lady standing behind the bar. Absolutely gorgeous! Pros: The bartender Cons: Only one bartender that is hot more

Harry's White Trash Bar on Fillmore 11/3/2007

In Short Pros: Stupid people make you feel smart Cons: Stupid people make you stupid more

Stay away during the evening. 6/9/2007

It may be a descent sports bar, but in the evening, the worst people I've seen come here. They are likely from outside San Francisco and CA, and they are the biggest jerks you can meet. Obnoxious, rude people, probably from the east coast. Stay away to avoid being insulted. No descent wine selection despite the name wither. A complete waist of space. It should be removed. Pros: You can walk out. Cons: People who come here. more

Sold Me ! 6/2/2007

I would totally recommend Harry's, I briefly stopped in after a boutique opening event midweek and promised to go back when I had more time. Pros: Service, Atmosphere Cons: the ladies bathroom could use another stall ... or two more

Soda water w/ no Garnish = $12 5/3/2007

I asked for a double vodka soda and was charged $12. The only problem was that I couldn't taste the vodka, even worse, I couldn't feel the vodka. I discussed it with my friends that recommended the place. They told me that Harry's is not the place to order Cocktails, your better off getting a beer for $6. Pros: Nice People Cons: Bad cocktails more

The Best Bar In San Francisco!!! 9/3/2006

Ive seen the best of the best and Harrys Bar is it. Its not like the bars youll find in the Marina, in the SOMA or in the Mission. Harrys is truly in a class of its own. Not only is Harrys the most beautiful bar I have ever seen, but it serves some of the best cocktails and food in town. Some of my favorites are the fresh mango mojitos, the Chinese Hawaiian martini and the classic hamburgers and fries. I ate dinner there with a friend a few nights ago, and she could not stop raving to her coworkers the next day about the food! Harrys has a little something for everyone. My friends who are sports fans make Harrys a second home when games are on. My girl friends and I like to grab a few drinks and dance there on the weekends. We threw a party for one of our friends at Harrys a few weekends ago, and we had the time of our lives. The music and crowd are always fun and eclectic. Great food, great drinks, great vibe. Harrys never fails to deliver. Pros: Great food and drinks, excellent music, diverse crowd more

best music! 7/29/2006

I've been going to Harry's for some time now and the past 3 weekends I've ended up there, including last night and I have to say the music is AWESOME. They play everything from hip/hop to new stuff and the best part was they played my favorite Robert Palmer song! I had a great time with my friends but it had much to do with the great music and the friendly staff as well. I would go there to have a great time any day of the week!!!!! Oh I met a couple hot guys too! more

Terrible. 1/26/2006

awful bartenders, and the pours are as weak as you can get. avoid this place like the plague. Cons: service, pours more

One of the greatest bars!!!! 11/11/2005

I am not from San Francisco but I visit about twice a week for business. I stopped in there late at night b/c it was the only place still serving food. It was a Wednesday night and there was a great crowd. Great music, excellent food and one of the best Mojitos I have ever had. The bartenders were awesome and the cocktail servers were hot!!! (my favorite is the little Carmen Electra) Everytime I am in town I make my way down there. Check this place out. Highly reccommended!!! more

What's with the weak drinks? 11/9/2005

I always enjoy the atmosphere and the good food at Harry's. My only complaint about the place is the weak drinks. For the price of one of the Mojotos I should be able to taste the rum. The last time I was there my Ketel and tonic tasted only like tonic. How dissapointing for a bar with such a good atmosphere and food. Plus my roomates enjoy stopping in to watch the cougars. If you love the cougars this is the bar for you!! Pros: good food, happy hour specials, great location Cons: weak drinks more

Matt... We love you!!!! 11/4/2005

Hi all: I am a San Francisco native, so it takes alot to impress me. I have seen the city go through so many changes and transformations. One place that still stays true to my San Franciscan heart is Harry's Bar. The evening was filled with ease and grace because of a stupendous bartendor named Matthew. Not only was he respectful, cultured and curteous, he had the ability to make one feel as if they were celebrating a special occasion in their own home. Matt made the experience real and exceptional to say the least. Thank you to Matt for his amazing hospitality and to Harry's Bar for hiring such quality individuals. more

Go for the staff, not the crowd 10/23/2005

I love this place! Introduce yourself once to the bartenders (and refrain from behaving like a ill-mannered oaf, as too many of the clientel do) and they will smile and greet you by name every time you walk in. The food is great and cheap (check out the Monday burger/beer deal for $7!). It is best to show up early or late-night in order to avoid the marina-types who sometimes creep up the hill and take over. Still, it's always worth it to stop by just to see the best staff I've found in this city (the women are hot and friendly and Matt is the most insanely-nice person I've ever met). Pros: Excellent staff, Great, cheap, food, Great martinis Cons: Often crowded, Crowd can be annoying, Beer should be colder more

Harry's is a sad story... 10/16/2005

Crowd full of nice people, Televisions are badly placed, minor really. What really was bad was the bar tender working this Monday night football and the ""waitresss"" if you can call them that. They couldn't get a drink out to save their lives, and it was so dam slow, so slow. They have to be losing 30% on Monday nights alone from lack waitresss talent, and bar tending. Very sad as I have been going for a while, it seems to have all time low. The owner needs to step it up hire more people and fire the ones he has, I am not going back until I see somebody else working behind the bar, and new help in general. more

not even close, but has potential 8/24/2005

I am a former GM of a 15 year old bar in Chicago. I went to Harry's with a business partner this week while visiting San Francisco. I ordered a double Captain-diet tall and received a regular short Captain-coke without a lime (I was still charged for a double at $12). We both ordered the strip steak with whipped potatoes and salad. We received a full steak resting on a bed of greens with no potatoes. I asked if this was normal, and was told, ""well, no"". The plates were not taken back, but a separate plate of potatoes was brought out. After that, the server ignored us. If you're going there to be teased by talent, be my guest. But be prepared to feel like you're doing them a favor just by offering them your money. Pros: Talent Cons: Service, Quality, Value more

Way beyond bar food 7/17/2005

I am so impressed with the food in this place. I ate there accidentally one day after getting hungry after some drinks and was hugely suprised with the quality of the food. I have been back several times since, just for the food. The hamburgers are *incredible*. The steak is also great (and cheap!) They have some really good (and cheap!) specials on Mondays. Great drinks, too. If you're going to eat, try to get there before 9 pm (or at happy hour!), as it becomes kind of a pick-up joint after that (which looks like it could also be fun if that's your thing.) The chicken isn't bad, but it's the burgers, fries, and steak that you really must try. Cute waitresses too, or so I hear from my male companions, but one or two of them can be a little ditzy with the service. ;) Pros: Food, Drinks , atmosphere Cons: service varies more

Had a GREAT time!! 2/28/2005

My friends and I went to Harry's for a girls night out and had a blast. The place is really clean, service was quick and friendly, only thing is they only have one stall in the restroom, but that's okay. They have an awesome happy hour, not too crowded cause we still got a table and cool service and people were pretty clean, not really anyone rude. Try a mango mojito if you decide to hang out there, it was by far the best I've had around town (so far). more

High Price For Low Quality 1/14/2005

I've been here once and I will not return. This bar makes the worst drinks I have ever had but they charge twice as much as every other bar. The only good thing about this place was the nice service. Pros: Good Service Cons: , Terrible drinks more
