Hallmark Manor

This place is BAD! My 88-year-old mother was placed there to rehab after hip replacement surgery. 10 days into the rehab, she's lying in bed in extreme pain. Standing at the foot of her bed I notice that the bed appears to be not level, the mattress is crooked from the midpoint to the top, she is tilted up onto her right side/hip. She's not able, at this point, to reposition herself. I crying from pain. I call a nurse/aid, show this to her, ask if this can be fixed, her answer was, ""maybe tomorrow."" I repeated back, ""maybe tomorrow?"" She said, ""Maybe?"". Knowing how upset I was she left and a maintenance person appeared. He told me that he couldn't fix the bed or mattress because he was leaving his shift for the day. I said, isn't there somebody who is replacing you. He said, ""No."" This being a Friday, I asked, ""is there someone on duty over the weekend. Ne said, ""No, only for emergencies."" I began to take pictures, and asked the maintenance person to tell me that again while I record him. He quickly left the room. I finally was able to get their attention and three men appeared (2 maintenance people). They fixed the bed, straightened the mattress, and positioned my mother so that she could lay flat on the bed. It's no wonder that she had been asking for more pain meds. more

My mother was placed at Hallmark for rehab after a knee surgery. She was treated terrible. Unable to go to the bathroom by herself, she was left on a portable toilet in her room for 2 hours in horrific pain. When she told the nurse in charge Donna she called my mom a LIAR. The head boss even gave us his personal number and our care still did not improve. We moved to another nursing home and my mom is doing great! Walking and almost ready to come home! more

My father was admitted for end stage liver disease. Our whole family has received great care and concern from the faculy at Hallmark. My mother did not want to leave my father alone so they put a bed in his room for her to stay. They made sure that she was eating and caring for herself so that she would stay strong. The staff has gone over and above in their service!!! Pros: Very clean, great care for patient and family. more

Our family had looked at the ratings for assisted living for my mother Jeri Dickinson, because of the rating of Hallmark Manor this was the place that was choose. BIG WRONG MOVE. We have sense learned from this. You must go there first and really look into a place and most important ask the people that live in the facility if it is any good. My poor mother never got proper care by the time we got her out of Hallmark Manor, she had a infection through-out her body. They put a cathdore in her, we wondered why, because when she went in there she could go to the bathroom on her own, she walked on her own before she went in that place, while she was in there she could not walk and felt very uncomfortable with the cathadore in. She was so depressed, I wish she never went in that horriiable place. She is back home We took her to the doctors got her on antibiotics had the cathdore removed she is now walking again going to the bathroom again and she is back to herself. Even the doctor said why the heck did she have a cathdore in? None of us could answer that. My younger sister and I were not getting along at the time. She flew in from alaska, She told them when shes there visiting my mom she did not want me there at the same time. Hallmark took it upon themselves to try and block me from seeing my own mother they would not put calls from me to my mothers room,, I asked for the person in charge and I was hung up on, I told them they needed to check her and make sure she had no infection they told me I could not talk to my mother they would not discuse anything with me they just hung up on me. There is no court papers that say I can not see or talk to my mother and never will be. Of corse that did not work I was up seeing my mother all the time, What kind of sick place is this? There is so much more to tell about this place. Then they threatened to take away her Social Security because they did not discharge her. She discharged herself! They deserve no star. Pros: The looks of the place that is the only pro Cons: Not impressed by facility, or how small the rooms most of all the care of the patients more
