I enjoyed Hairston's over all , the mix of music, and live band was awesome and allowed me and my family to celebrate my birthday with style. However, although it was a great time, each visit to the bathroom was a little overwhelming, because I always felt compelled to Pay for handsoap and a papertowel, while getting a earful of gossip. I appreciate someone maintaing the clean atmosphere, but a dollar a "shot" is a little steep. Hairston's was GREAT! We partied from the time we arrived, until close! The food was great, and the music was even better! The Manager, Todd Smith, was very informative, courteous, and very professional! ATL, this is a hot spot for any engagement. They have party packages to fit any occasion. I had my son's graduation party there last nite and it was GREAT. I was contacted by Jennifer a month ago after sending a email. She was very professional, after talking to her I knew what to do, what to expect and she came through!! The set up was beautiful we were in a VIP area decked in my son's school colors, the food was exactly what I set up with Jennifer and the server Channara was right on time she was pleasant and she knew her club! I was sooo impressed and would recommend anyone who wants to have a well put together event with good music good people and great atmosphere call here and let Jennifer do what she does because she does it well! I visited my brother here in Ga this pass weekend. He brought me to this club. WOW thought I was home. That DJ jammed his butt off. A few mistakes but for the most part good. I would have danced all night if i wasnt affraid of tripping and breaking my neck from that hole in the dance floor. I will be back and the floor better be fixed. Waitress got upset because a member in our party ordered drinks from the bar. It wasn't on purpose, she didn't know we had taken a seat at the table. She refused to wait on us after that. But the next one was very friendly, upbeat and made sure we had everything we needed. The DJ played music in all categories. I really enjoyed the Old Skool sounds. Just what I needed to dance the Thanksgiving Dinner off. I had to drive home to Ohio early that next morning but couldn't leave because the DJ was jamming. Pros: Enjoyed the decor. The DJ was awsome! We came out to celebrate our friend Jeanette's birthday. Our server "Raven" was the bomb. She made our experience memorable. I rate her as #1 of all time in my book. Hairston's is a great place. My wife and I visit the Atlanta area about twice a year from out-of-town and we always make it to Hairston's while we're there. We were there this past Friday, November 20, 2009 and we had a blast!!!!! Good food, good music, good atmosphere.....no young goons, thugs, or hoochie-momas being disrespectful and rude. Our waitress was Raven, and she did an absolutely fantastic job....and she seemed to enjoy it while doing it. We highly recommend Hairston's for anyone who likes to eat and dance, but especially for those 30 and older. Pros: Best old school/new school party in town. Cons: Kind of small & were short on menus for visitors to look at more

Dance floor has 12" wood floor tiles with exposed seams. It is dangerous to dance because it is a tripping hazzard. Also, it is very small. more

i was at hairastons and my expeience didnt' start off good but ended perfectly, no i didn't get anything for free but. i didn't like my waitress but i will say she tried. it wasn't till i was on the patio complaining about my experience that my true respect for this establishment came into play. i joked with my friends for 10 minutes about everything from tip to service but a young lady came up to me and said, the manager is out but let me get the owner he is here tonight and so is his wife and they want positive things for the place. we went back and forth because i didnt' want the girl whose service i idn't like to get fired, but it changed my expereince i thougth she was a manager. she is a bartener. one of our friends had seen her before. but she was so on it i thought she was a manager. she offered to get the owner. said we should talk to him and to me that was all i needed. our watiress was nice and she did try hard but as this lady and i sat and joked (cause she made me feel lik e i could talke to her) she asked me to come back and said she had been asking people to give reviews but she hadn't dealt with me. she made my night. i introduced her to my husband and told her we will be back. also told her i don't want the waitress to get in trouble cause of the economy but they have a standard tip sytem and she explained that too. i did have a good time. the drinks were really good and the people who work there are too. i asked my personal watiress to put my food to go, she didn't but there was another nice person who did. and further made my time there even better. you have a lot of good people on ur stafff. i don't remember names but the bartender wz tall and had curly hair and the watiress wasnt as tall but i hadnt seen her all night and she did the job of the other woman. she was dark skin. i wished i had the two of them waiting on me. but i didn't. and i still had a nice time and just like i told the bartender, im coming back. i just got on here to state my thoughts cause the bartender girl said they were working on customer serive. that girl came over and finally made up feel good and we were on the way out. and we know todd too been coming for years. When we arrived we ordered drinks and appetizers. We ordered the chicken wings. We wanted half barbecue and half plain. The waitress brought us all barbecue chicken wings. Well, we told her what we ordered. She agreed the order was wrong and she would see what she could do and left. She came back and asked us to give her ten chicken wings back, and she would bring us ten plain wings. Now how ridiculous is that. Mind you, we had already started eating the wings. My sister came into town for her 40th birthday. So I decided to started the festivities at this horrible so called up scale club. So we came on August 5th, which was a wednesday (ladies night). They advertise ladies get in free all night. So we arrived and was stopped at the door to pay 15 dollars. I told them it was advertise free all night. He says it before 10. Now we got there at 11ish. So to avoid an argument I paid the fee. Then we walked into the club, it was like a ghost town. It was atleast 12 people in the club. So we sat at the bar, order a shot of Patron. I was so surprise they charged us 15.00 dollar for a spitt of patron. I was like are you serious. So we were insisted not to let this ruin her bday. So were listening to the music, then the lights came on. Then the bartender said were closing. I was so ticked off, because they said the club @ 1:00. We were their for only 25 minutes. So I approached the manager regarding why did they take our money to enter knowing they were closing in 25 minutes. He apologize with a smirk while walking us to the door. I felt like I was hustled. I was at the Michael Baised after party last night and I had the best time ever> The lines started early and we were so luck to get in by 7. The place was packed by 7:30 and it was jumping!!! We got sat close to the area Mike Basiden was going to be in and we just had such a wonderful time.I loved the food when we finally got it (it was a minute but understood it was packed) The music was great, the managers were great.The manager in the yellow flower dress was stunning I really admired how she kept checking on the servers in our area and stood her ground to the ladies in our section (groupies)who were giving the server a hard way. My overall experience was terrific.Mike Baisden was wonderful he was everywhere and showed so much love to Hairstons and the staff! The owners were great too they greeted everyone in our party and really seem to care about their customers! I WILL BE BACK! it was my first time but not my last!! I stopped by Hairston's on Friday, June 19, 2009. I arrived about 630, the crowd was just beginning to filter in. I had the opportunity to hear Mr. George Fraser give an awe inspiring and motivating speech. I ordered a chicken and shrimp dinner, the chicken and shrimp were quite tatsty, eventhough the meal only provided 3 small shrimp. The crowd seemed to be of the local flavor, 30 and up, no rah rah!! After Mr. Fraser's speech, the dj began to spin a nice mix of smooth jazz trax, infused with some classic party trax from the 80s and 90s. I wished that I was able to hang around longer, because I am quite sure the dj rocked that place. The staff was extremely smooth and professional, from the valet attendants, bartenders, as well as the restroom attendant. My only negative experience, was after receiving my food bill, the gratuity was included. I have worked in the food/bev industry for 21 years, and added gratuities are normally added to parties of 5-6 or larger. It was no big deal, since the meal total was only $13 and the bartender added a $3 tip to the bill. Neerdless to say, her service exceeded a $3 tip. Like I previously said, "I am a food/bev professional", and my tips usally will meet or exceed the bill total if I am provided excellent service; of wich I received. WHAT A NICE ESTABLISHMENT, THE FOOD WAS GOOD AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GOOD TOO. WE LOVED THE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS GIVING EVERYONE A CHANCE TO BE A STAR FOR THE NIGHT WITH THE BIRTHDAY SHOW. I WAS VARY IMPRESSED WITH THE GENTLEMEN AT THE FRONT DOOR, I DONT REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT HE'S FROM DETROIT. HE WAS NICE WELCOMING US TO THE CLUB AS HE SPOKE TO EVERYONE BOTH COMMING AND GOING. when I visited we use to have a seat,now we have to stand because there is no where to sit.Why Birthday parties,the manager is out of control,where is the older gentleman?The manager is disrespectful and I had a drink added to my ticket that I did not order.Before all of these Bd parties we could sit down now u pay $15.00 to get in and have to stand all nite because u have all of these Bd parties.You can't relax when u have to stand all nite.It takes the waiter a long time to bring your ticket they keep saying I will be back in a minute and it takes a half hour.Thumbs down for me! My wife and I eat out almost every Saturday in Atlanta. We wanted to find a restuarant close to our house to eat . So we decided to visit the Vanilla Room. So we paid $24 to get in since it was after ten, which I understand because it is also a club. I told the guy at the front that I wanted to eat dinner. He told me I had to go find a waitress if I wanted to eat. At first I thought he was kidding. So I spent about five minutes looking for a waitress. I finally found a waitress, she then called the same guy over. He left and brought back folding chairs and put them at a table that was at the entrance. The table was partially blocked from a customer from another table which meant one of us would have at back at the entrance and the other in the walk way. I told the guy i didn't want to sit there and could he found another table, he took the chairs and walked off and went back to spot at the entrance. I didn't mind paying to get in since they would have gotten much more money out of me if I had been a regular customer or ate and drank that night. On a positive note the dancing did look fun, but I never got to that point . We left after the guy went back to his place. Don't go to eat! Pros: Close to my home. Cons: Terrible service more

I have been coming to Hairstons for years and I must say even with the great new look you guys still hold the torch to great food and great customer service! I came this year on Valentines Day and it was packed and I believe the kitchen got overwhelmed and there was quite a wait on the dinners. I understood that a lot of the patrons that night I?m sure didn?t. I received a call that week from the manager following up on our experience and apologizing for the delays in dinner as well as an invitation to come back out. I called Jennifer when I was ready to come back out and she set us up and we had a great time .Just like always the food was great, the music was entertaining and the service was perfect! I live on the south side next to many new "mature" establishments were its beautiful on the outside and the service from the management to the staff is absolutely terrible.Hairstons that you all are not! I am a newcomer to ATL. This is a wonderful establishment. The fodder was great and I had a ball on the dance floor. Great mixture of music from Old School to up to date R & B Hits and more. I plan to go there again this weekend. Might even have my next birthday party there. Its a must see! more
