This salon has a great new stylist, Robyn. She comes from Florida to bring her own sense of flair and style. I finally got the haircut I was looking for. She listened to my comments and then made it happen. I watched her to beautiful color and highlighting on another client. I highly recommend her if you choose this salon. Thank you Robyn. more

I finally found a good hair salon.. something that you can go to for a regular haircut without breaking the bank, but at the same time not compromise the style. Courtney did my style recently, she was just excellent. While I waited a short while, I saw how well she had done the hair for a teenager next to me. It was very neat, and since it is my first time here I felt more confident. She quickly understood what I wanted to do with my hair and did it exactly the way I wanted. I have been to a few salons in the University area and they all came up short...except for Haircolorxperts in the Grand Promenade. The stylists were all extremely friendly (and all had great hair themselves). As a first time customer I received 20% off my full highlight and cut with a coupon. The stylists who did my hair was amazing, her name was Megan. She did a wonderful job highlighting my hair, and the cut was even better!! Plus, she's really funny and friendly so I had a good time too. Definitely exceded my expectations. If you don't want to wait, schedule an appointment when they first open and they'll take you right back. I've been here only a few times, mainly because it's expensive (but well worth it). The staff is highly courteous and friendly. One time I accidentally made an appointment at one location and showed up at another one, so I had to rush to the correct location, making me way late for the appointment... When I got there, they said it was THEIR fault (even though it was totally mine) since they hadn't confirmed the appointment by phone, and gave me a free bottle of shampoo!! I've been going to this salon since they first opened and have seen quite a few different stylists there, all of whom have been excellent. I have recommended several of my friends and family members and they too have enjoyed their experiences, and have been pleased with their hair. After recently having recommended this salon to a co-worker, I was curious to see when she was planning on getting her hair done, (since they have a great referral program, I wanted to see if I could get credit for her on my account before my next appointment...) Well, she informed me she was hesitant to schedule an appointment because of some of the reviews left on this websight... After having read over the posts myself, I felt that as a loyal client I should assert myself and state that while most others seem to agree that this is a quality salon, the few negative comments left may very well be valid, but have not been my experience or that of anyone I know to go here. I'm sure they have their off days like the rest of us, however I would hope that these remarks do not discourage anyone else from giving them a try, because they are truly an excellent salon with a talented, friendly staff and I have nothing but the best to say about them. I had a wonderful experience at the Haircolorxperts Grande Promenade II. I have been to other salons in the area and this one is by far the best! I was greeted immediately and taken back by my stylist very soon after arriving . She conducted an in depth consultation asking several questions about my lifestyle and maintence habits. She had really good recommendations and provided valuable feedback. She seemed very knowledgable and interested in assessing my needs. I answered all of her questions, but gave her liberty in doing what she though would work best for my hair. In the end, I am so happy with what she came up with! The color and the cut really work well together and I am thrilled to have found a place that knows what they are doing!!! I will definately be back and would recommend them to everyone. I went to this salon on multiple occassions when I moved from the South Side to the University Area. The first cut and color was not bad so I continued to go back to the same person. During the second or third cut the stylist completely botched up my hair by cutting the front crown portion several inches too short (so that a cut that was supposed to go to my shoulders ending up having a huge section at cheekbone level). When I called to complain they said I had to return to the same person to fix it. The manager of the store was present and did not stop by even once to see how I was doing or to apologize. My hair, which had been in a long bob, got cut so short that it was only a couple of inches at the crown. There was no acknowledgement whatsoever of the problem. It has taken me a year to grow it to the point where I can actually cut it again. The color also completely damaged my hair to the point where it was breaking off where it had been highlighted in chunks. When I asked about it I was told that because I only did it every 3 months it was fine. Don't believe it. I have colored my hair faithfully every 2-3 months for the last 20 years. I have been visiting the haircolorxperts salon for about a year. My stylist is awesome, she never ceases to amaze me. At my last appointment I decided that I wanted to completly change my haircut and the color. I was a little nervous because I have been having pretty much the same thing done at my previous appointmets. She really made me feel confident that I was making a good decision and she told me what she thought would look good and what would look bad, I feel like she has always been very honest with me about that. I am so glad that I put my trust in her, she did an amazing job. She really knew exactly what she was talking about. Ive never had a stylist that can pull a picture out of my mind and have it turn out exactly that way, she has done that for me! After all of this bragging I havent even told you her name yet, her name is Heather.......and I dont feel like Ive said it enough.....she is AMAZING! I recently visited the Haircolorxperts near UNCC and I had such a great experience. Everyone was so friendly and professional from the time I booked my appointment to the time that I left the salon. I absolutely loved the color and cut that the stylist gave me and I felt like the price was very reasonable. She helped to explain to me how to style my hair step by step so that I would be able to make my hair look the same after I got home. I am so happy that I visited this salon, I will definetly be back in 6 weeks to have my color retouched!! more

My wife and I have been going to haircolorxperts for a while now. My wife has her hair colored and I have mine cut. We dont always see the same stylist but they are all great. The people that work there are always so nice. I cant think of one time that I have been there and felt ignored. My haircuts are always exactly how I want them and my wife always loves her color. I went to Haircolorxperts a few days ago and they really are haircolorxperts! I colored my hair at home and it turned out black! I went in to have them fix it and they did an amazing job! I couldnt have gone out in public looking that way and my stylist made my hair look better than its ever looked before! I have been going to haircolorxperts since they opened last year. michelle has been my stylist since april so when i heard that she moved away, i was a little upset. The receptionist made my appointment with Heather and they assured me that she would do a great job. Heather did my hair on saturday and i absolutely loved it. Last week one of my coworkers and I decided that we needed a makeover. We called and made an appointment and because we wernt sure about what we wanted the receptionist recomended that we make our first appointment for a consultation. We were able to get in at the same time with two diferent stylist, Heather and Julie. They were able to look at our hair texture, the condition of it....face shape and so many other things that go into determining the perfect haircolor and cut for us. We made our appointment for the next day to come back and have everything done. When we came back they had everything that we talked about in their computer and they did exactly what we talked about in our consultation. I have been to this salon several times, but after my last experience I will not go back. I waited 20 minutes after my appointment time before I walked out. I would have been more understanding if someone apoligised for the wait and told me they'd be with me soon, but no one said anything. They obviously do not value their client's time and are very unprofessional. more

I had the same experience as Calvert. However, I was in desperate need of color, so I waited FORTY FIVE MINUTES for the colorist to arrive. Also, the receptionist acted as if i was invisible. Finally, the colorist arrives. She's a senior colorist or whatever, so I trust that she'll do a good job. She did all these 'extra' things to my hair that I figured were included in the price (turned out that they were NOT included, the entire thing cost me $275), and took... wait for it... FIVE HOURS. I was ready to get up and leave when she decided to take a lunch break, but had stuff in my hair, and was stuck. Then, to top it all off, they overcharged me. They later called to apologize and gave me a refund and offered a free appt, but forget it - I'm never going back. HORRIBLE PLACE. Cons: expensive, poor service more

I can't believe how disappointed I am with having wasted my time making an appointment at this salon. I cannot review the actual hair cut and color service, however I can let readers (who value their time) know that the salon does not practice professionalism or timeliness. I had made an appointment for 6:00. When I walked in, there were two women at the front desk. One asked that I have a seat and wait. Neither so much looked up in my direction to acknowledge my presence. After waiting for 15 minutes and not being told that my hair dresser was running late, I left. In over 10 years of having my hair done at various salons in several different cities, I have never waited more than 5 minutes. Ladies, if you have little time to spend waiting and expect friendly service, please make an appointment at another salon. more

I can NOT say enough about how excited I am about the results of my hair! Everyone at work has been complimenting me, and I have referred them ALL to Heather! I went to the Grande Promenade location and recieved rockstar service all the way! I recently moved to the area and was very hesitant in going to a new stylist since my hair is curly and I have several nightmare experiences in the past. I knew I wanted something different, but wasn't sure what I was looking for... Heather took her time, listened and asked insightful questions guiding me with suggestions. In the end, we didn't do anything too drastic, but she did blow my hair STICK STRAIGHT which was great. My hair is silky, shiny and feels great! I will DEFINATELY be back, and maybe next time I will be more daring. :0) more

After years of going to just any salon at a minimal price and being mildly satisfied, I've finally found someone who cut my hair RIGHT. I want to recommend Michelle Green to anyone looking for a great cut. She took the time to help me figure out exactly what I wanted, tweaked it a bit to get it perfect even after it was dry, showed me how to style it and get it to have the much needed body and definition. I'm so impressed, I can't say enough about the experience or Michelle's personality and expertise. Thank you Michelle! I recently visited this salon for the 1st time. I took a picture in and asked for RED hair. For more than 4 years I've asked for red hair from a variety of stylist, and I've gotten many variations of almost red hair that never met my expectations. This time, however, was very different. I recieved EXACTLY what I asked for from this salon. My service included a corrective process and the best cut I think I've ever had. The level of professionalism and expertise in this salon is, in my opinion, unsurpassed in Charlotte. No pretention or stuffiness, no overpriced services. Just quality work and products at reasonable prices in a very relaxed, yet professional atmosphere. I can't say enough good things about my experience here. As for the title..
