I had my first haircut with Patricia at Gustavo Briand Studio last week. I have very weird hair: it's curly, but fine. It's thin in some parts and thicker in others. And I don't like to put a lot of effort into it to look good. That being said, even the best haircuts I've gotten in the past have only addressed some of those issues, it's never completely what I need. Patricia gave me a perfect haircut for my hair. It looks great and I barely have to spend 15 minutes blowing it to look compliment-worthy! The salon is very small and tranquil, which I like very much. I don't like bustling salons with chemical scents from hair dye and nail polish and people yapping on their cell phones! I will be a customer for a long time! more

Best Cut in South Florida (Ive tried them all!!) 11/30/2007

Upon my first arrival at Gustavo's Studio I was shocked at the ease of parking and the convenient and beautiful location across to water. I felt very comfortable with the personal attention that Gustavo gave to me after a hectic day. First off, the products are amazing and with a little extra money he supplies a vastly greater product then something for say 5$ less. Coming from NYC, I became accustomed to having the best, so I was a little skeptical in the beginning. Though his personallity and the way he asked questions on what I wanted made me feel better. In the end my hair always looks great and grows in well. I am now a regular customer of Gustavo's of about a year and would never try anywhere else (b4 hand I had many hair disasters elsewhere that CItySearch rates well!!). In fact, I am seeing him tomorrow! more

Best hair salon on Miami Beach - Top of the line and very friendly 11/28/2007

Gustavo is a the best hair stylist I ever had. I tried many salons in Miami Beach but I was never satisfied either because of the quality of the hair cut, or the atmosphere in the salon. Gustavo delivers on both of these things. I consider him to be a real artist with the way he cuts my hair. He gives great advice on which style fits you the best and does an awesome job. He really pays attention to detail. The studio is decorated very nicely. Most importantly he is a very friendly and fun guy to vist. more

What competition? 11/28/2007

I'm not really in to writing surveys that much but in case it's a must. I have been a customer of Gustavo's for sometime now and to be honest I would not change him for no one. Before going to Gustavo I would cut my hair in different places and I didn't like any of them. Thanks to him, I've have also changed my hair style to what he visioned me with and to this day I LOVE IT. Not only are his hair styles good, so is the environment. It's a very comfortable place with wonderful people. I really don't plan on going somewhere else. Pros: Everythings great Cons: Nothing more

Leave Completely Impressed 11/20/2007

I myself have afrocentric hair, and initially thought that Gustvo's services did not cater to my hair type. I have been proven wrong! I have left other hair stylists traumatized, unhappy, fried, essentially a complete mess. This time I left impressed with how healthy my hair looked, felt and moved. Best Haircut I've Ever Had! 10/26/2007

Gustavo is awesome! I was a little bit freaked out about cutting my hair short with a new stylist after having it long for ten years. I have tried other salons around Miami, but am not crazy about the unprofessional/gossipy beauty parlor atmosphere in a lot of them, or the pretentious, overpriced snooty salons that are abundant in South Beach. The studio is decorated really nicely with brown leather chairs and purple velvet curtains. He uses good products too. But the main attraction is the precise cutting and great styling I received. He really pays attention to detail- his training at Vidal Sasson really shows. Also, he is really fun to talk to! Pros: friendly, profeesional service, good parking, nice ambience Cons: none more

5-star Hair Salon...The Best in South Florida! 10/9/2007

Gustavo, my hairstylist, and his team provided the service that well exceeded my expectations. I was extremely satisfied with the cut/style that he provided. Never before had I recieved so many great comments about my hairstyle from my friends, coworkers, & families----thanks to Gustavo's highly experienced qualifications in precision cuts/coloring. I have been to so many different salons in the past, but NONE OF THEM had the superior service nor the training that satisfied me. Get the professional treatment, the stylist consults with you and then you get treated to a nice wash/soothing scalp massage, they use these awesome Davines products which I also, and I really was pleased with my haircut, I can't remember the last time I said that and really meant it...this time I do. The 'A' Team 9/19/2007

Today I had the honor of having Gustavo highlight my hair and Patricia provided the cut and style. Together they are the 'A' Team. I pity the fool that goes anywhere else!!! I was treated like family, and these stylists are top-notch. Both Gustavo and Patricia were trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy and as such, their work is meticulous and creative. What talent! My coloring by Gustavo is incredible: a blond and ruby dual highlight. I would have never thought to combine these colors, and it came out beautifully: classy and adventurous. Patricia was precise and super-attentive. My cut is clean and unbelievably healthy looking. The salon itself is elegant and uncluttered, with a super-helpful support staff. What a wonderfull experience! 9/15/2007

Recently I was looking for a new salon because I wasn?t to happy with my previous hair cut. I love to wear a long hair finally I found the best stylist in south beach, the attention was great, Gustavo welcome very well and Patricia cut my hair beautifully she listen carefully to my request and I was very satisfied with the whole service .I highly recommend her she is fantastic and very profetional.I will defeneltly go back . more

What a TREASURE! This diamond however is certainly not in the ruff. The GB Studio is an experience like few others and the hip, moderne atmosphere is only eclipsed by the master himself: Gustavo Briand hair GENIUS! As a native New Englander (and general skeptic) I am NOT given to praise easily, but in this case it is ENTIRELY deserved. Without a doubt my hair has never looked better. Worth at least twice what I paid, the proof is in the pudding, and damn it tastes good! more

Gustavo Briand could call himself Vidal Sasson, but he doesn't. He is an extremely talented, unpretentious, educated hair stylist who will soon be stealing all of the hair lover hearts of Miami Beach. I have had my hair colored at just about every salon in Miami Beach. Gustavo is by far the best. I wanted to cry it was so good! Natural, new, fresh and exactly what I wanted without me hardly saying a word. Color was followed by the best "trim" I have EVER received. The newest addition to Briand Studio is Patricia. Having longish hair, I am always concious of my hair "cuts". Don't take too much, just cutt off the dead ends, I want to keep my length....She has heard it all and performs perfectly. I have the most beautiful, perfectly shaped, "long" trim you have ever seen. I want to say thank you to both of these very talented artists for their masterpiece on my hair. It was well worth every minute and every penny spent! and NO they do not pay people to say these wonderful things about them. It's just true! Try it for yourself. Great hair experience & result 9/5/2007

I was looking to get my hair cut and highlighted for the first time as I saw a really cool hairstyle which I thought might work for me. This is a big step as first, I am a man & second I live in Europe where fashion is at a premium. Since I was visiting Miami I did some research on the net and found Gustavo's studio. His name kept on coming up in my searches and as I read, he came from an international background working in London & Germany. To make a long story short, all of the reviews I read were true. Gustavo & his staff were very professional yet extremely personable. In fact the customer before me swore by him. Gustavo knew exactly what to do and gave me his honest opinion on what highlight color we should use to maintain a natural appearance ( Good because I was clueless). His confidence is obvious and it makes you feel extremely comfortable which is important regarding your hair. In the end, the cut was perfect and he even helped educate me on how to get the look(s) with my new hairstyle ( blowdry, smoothing serum, etc). No doubt I will be back in December on my next trip to Miami ! Thanks so much Gustavo, I am getting so many compliments on new look which can be challenging for a man with darker hair & highlights! Gustavo is a very talented stylist. I've been to many places on the Beach. He clearly knows what he is doing and has a good sense of style. The location is a bit odd (a little south and west of the new Publix) but once I found I was fine (actually, I like the location now because parking is easy). He's not cheap, but I got a lot of compliments so I think it's worth it. Pros: Quality of the cut, color and styling more

An amazing hair experience!! Believe it, cause it's true :) 8/31/2007

I have been around the block when it comes to hair salons. I have been everywhere from Stella to Van Michael's to Rocco Donna to Salon Blu. I was starting to feel that despite my rampant search of the best stylist, it was not going to be found here in Miami. I went to Gustavo Briand's studio yesterday to see if there was anything out there I had not yet seen with regards to a hair stylist. Well, I found it! Not only is the salon super clean and accessible, but Gustavo is a fabulous host to ALL that walk it. I have been to some other salons that make you feel like they're doing you a favor to cut your hair...Gustavo was confident about his work but easy going enough that you could walk in off the street and ask his opinion on your hair. I went in unhappy about my hair and came out with a smile on my face that can only be achieved with genuine happiness. He and his staff made the four hours I spent there amazing. I would highly recommend him to anyone, man or woman...who is looking for a light at the end of the salon tunnel. I know that I have found my salon...for good! The color is exactly how I wanted it and the cut is truly amazing. The prices are beyond fair and the free conditioning treatment he's giving away to new customers is fabulous. Try him out if you're on the search for a new and improved you. Try him out if you're tired of looking over processed. Try him out if you're going to a special event (he apparently does amazing up-dos). Just try him out! As a classical musician, the way I look and present myself is incredibly important. Gustavo not only understood my personal sense of style (fun, young, hip, off-the-beaten-path), but he knew exactly how to integrate it with the needs of my rather conservative profession. He spent hours with me picking the perfect hair color, and deciding how it would match my cut and my style. FINALLY MIAMI GETS A TALENTED STYLIST!! 8/22/2007

If you are like me in the sense, you are metrosexual or simply that your appearance is important to you and you search and research in order to find a hair stylist, that can give you the look you are going for, with the most professional cut, pricing and convenience THEN let me be the first to make your life easier. I did so much research when I first moved to Miami, and tried many different stylist. From very expensive ($160.00 to supercuts pricing) and no one has been able to give me the results I was looking for. I would never walk out feeling confident in the cut I just received. BUT when I FINALLY found Gustavo Briand, at first even though I was just as skeptical and very very picky, he was able to make me feel completely comfortable and warranted any and all my suggestions. I have been going to Gustavo for more than two years now and I highly recommend his services. I cannot emphasize enough how happy I am with him. Thank You Gustavo! It's a pleasure to visit his studio and you can trust his magnificent hands 100 per cent. First of all you feel home in his studio. He manages to create very friendly atmosphere. He is very devoted to his job so he does a perfect job. You enjoy his company and the way he works with the hair. He always works thoroughly, listens to the client's wishes and if he advises something it's always the best solution.
