Best Hair Colorist 6/27/2007

I went to Gustavo Briand Salon for color correction and a hair cut. I walked in with mousy, blah, dry hair and walked out with gorgeous blond highlights and the best hair cut I have ever had. Gustavo was a delight. His work is exceptional and I am so happy I finally found a colorist who knows what he is doing. I look forward to my return visit. Great attention and service 6/19/2007

After searching for a good hairstylist in Miami, I came across with Gustavo's Hair Salon and I decided to give it a try. If there is one thing that us women like, is to be comfortable and pleased with a new haircut. Gustavo not only will recommend what is best for you but he will also make it look good on you! The staff is very professional and make you feel welcomed. With no doubt I will come back again. After a few months I decided to come back and this time I had the chance to meet Patricia, and get my hair done by her. Again I was really impressed by the results. Patricia was very kind and outgoing. She also is very professional. I did not know what type of cut I wanted to get, but Patricia recommended one that really suited my face and I have gotten good compliments so far. more

Highlights=Gustavo 6/15/2007

I love it, I love it, and I love it! How beautiful and perfect my highlights look. Gustavo the owner gave such beautiful tones and my highlights look better than ever before. I am a lawyer and need to look professional, this "Artist magnifique" came with four different bowls of color alternating my new light, medium, and dark blond with some low lites, the way he placed the foils were so artistic, I felt bad for him when he had to take them off, they looked so perfect. but the result was great, he also cut my hair in a wonderful way, I left his studio looking like a model, and already got so many compliments, I did not take enough business cards, when I go back for my blow-dry I have to take more. What a great colorist we have here in Miami! Pros: BEST HIGHLIGHTS IN THE CITY Cons: Far for me, but I don't care. more

Thank you for fixing my Highlights and Haircut. 6/15/2007

I have been going for the last year to one of the TOP Miami Beach salons. My hair looked descent at the beginning but lately I have become in a Formulation card for my Colorist. Tired of looking mediocre I decided to look out for some other horizons. I was reading Best Salons of Citysearch, and Gustavo Briand Studio came across very close to my home. I decided to give Gustavo Briand (even thou I am very skeptical with a stylist which does color and cut) a try, when I arrived I was shocked about the neatness of the place, everything is so clean and spotless, thr music, wow, really soothing classical tunes, he looked after me in a very attentive way, listened to me! and we agreed that my color became in a correction Job, he applied 3 different tones of foil highlights and low lites, I have never seen this, gave me one of the Davineess protein treatments and my hair came back to life, also looked so RIGHT on the color, he gave me back what I could not explain to anyone, he literally interpreted what I wanted for so long. Then the haircut came to place and he FIXED the mess they did to me, now my hair flows in a beautiful cascade of layers that look good even when it is not blowdry, I waited a couple of days to do this review, since anyone could trick you into a good blowdry in top of a bad cut, basically I never got such a cut which compliments my hair and features. Thank you Gustavo, I am very thankful for the awesome job you did on my hair and happy to have met you I can t wait to come back to repeat the treat! Pros: Parking everywhere! Life changing haircut 6/9/2007

I always used think that clipper cut was all there was to getting a haircut. Gustavo (the owner) cut my hair using scissors entirely, and it was the best haircut I have ever gotten. There was a lady getting her hair cut when I arrived, and she left looking ready to walk down the runway. I just got a simple haircut and a few highlights, but I still got tons of compliments. I will be coming back here every time. more

It is the best hair cut I've gotten in a very long time. Gustavo is friendly and amicable he is very knowllagible about different types of hair. Infinite hair satisfaction 5/18/2007

I have been a client of Gustavo's for nearly five years. I will not allow anyone else to touch my hair. There was an unfortunate year where he deserted me and went to Chicago. However, he would come back about once a month just to cut my hair. That is dedication. He uses no razors. He cuts strictly with scissors and believe me it is worth the $100 he charges. He takes his time and always does it right. Now I have also begun getting highlights with Kelly. She has jazzed up my overall dark hair and given me spectacular dimension. Since his salon has opened I have been getting manicures with Estella, his mom. I enjoy these little luxuries and she is so attentive and sweet natured. I look forward to my visits to the Studio. I know that I will be completely taken care of and treated with respect. Pros: Atmosphere, service, skill, everything. Cons: Nothing more

By far the best hair salon 5/18/2007

I have been going to Gustavo Briand Studio since it has opened in the Spring of 2007. There has been some changes in regards to stylists. One of the constants is Patricia Barone. She is strictly a stylist and takes much pride in her work. I have not met another hair professional with her skill, listening ability, or sweetness. She takes time with her work and is a true perfectionist. Every time she cuts my hair it is exactly what I wanted. When I had long hair and told her to chop it all off, think Sharon Stone, she did so beautifully. Now I am growing it out and she keeps that in mind as she trims and shapes. Needless to say I have great hair thanks to Patricia! I am always getting compliments on my cut. That makes me feel great and I always refer people to Patricia. Thank you sooooo much Patricia! Pros: Everything about this salon is a pro. Cons: Nothing more

Haircut $100. Satisfaction Priceless! 5/18/2007

I was lucky to meet Gustavo Briand about 7 years ago when I was blown away by his talent. I never thought much about hair in general and didn't understand why people are so picky, until I feel in his hands. I travel a lot for work, so I have been all over the world and experienced all kinds of salons. But I always try to catch Gustavo wherever he is, as he is irreplaceable. If you know anything about hair salons you know Vidal Sassoon has a very strict, lengthy and detail training and if you mix that with talent like Gustavo?s, you can?t go wrong. It is hard to make a mistake. I am so glad to have him back in town and that he FINALLY opened his own salon. He has carefully put together a very gifted team. I experienced Kelly (the colorist) in Chicago and was extremely pleased with her work, she also has a magnetic personality. What a gifted girl! I have seen cases that come in there and don?t know how they are going to fix them, bad haircuts and color from other stylists and they always manage to perform a miracle. Even the young protege Rey is attentive and is very willing to learn as he understands that the education he is getting there is a gift. And his sweet mother doing your nails as you wait for your color. You can see they love what they do and that they are really take pride in their work. Gustavo Briand Studio radiates his personality, cozy and classy. This salon has a strange effect on you, you never want to leave and a special relationship is created with the GB team. Everyone is so friendly and gifted. Whenever I am there I see people just come by to say Hi and how much they love their hair. I always leave there satisfied as I know I can just sit on the chair and not have to worry about the results, and when I feel really adventurous I just tell him do something different and I trust is going to look great, and it does! The prices are a little above average but so is the work you get done. Worth every penny! Pros: Quality and Friendliness Cons: Can't get enough of them more

HAIR GENIUSES 5/17/2007

I live in Chicago; it is obvious by my profile name. Gustavo & Kelly used to do my hair in Chicago a while back, first Kelly left that place & Gustavo moved back to Miami, Thought I would never have good hair again, It has been about a year since the "Dynamic Duo" last touched my tresses, but my job just recently gave me a promotion to oversee the South East area as well, & guess what? I knew Gustavo went back to his Miami, & went to citysearch to see if I would be lucky enough... Let me tell you: I FOUNDED HIM, not only KELLY, Oh my God, KELLY, is working for HIM? What are the chances of that? LOL I literally cried when I read this, & of course decided to call "Gustavo Briand Studio" I made the appointment under someone else?s name to surprise them & BOY I DID! They were so happy to see me, we had ice cream at the shop from Ice Cube next door,like before. LOL, it gets better, Gustavo?s MOTHER is now doing nails, and she is so glamorous looks literally like a movie star! Since they left Chicago I had NOTHING but almost good haircuts & highlights, but YESTERDAY, after I got done it was me again in that mirror, my beautiful blond multi toned highlights are back, and Gustavo's unmistakable and unparallel PERFECT graduated haircut is back, I started getting compliments, from the taxi driver, the help personnel at the hotel, MY HUBBY! ;), & everyone I know literally, in two months when I return I MUST take more business cards, because it is a bit embarrassing, I don?t even blowdry my hair & people is commenting, I know I sound a bit exaggerated, but these pair got even better than before. As far as the shop it is so classic, chic, and stylish wonderfully located, (it was parking), easy to get to, & it is not a hair factory, they really take their time to beautify you, one person at the time. All I have to say is that if you go visit to Miami or have a work stop, or live there, go to Gustavo Briand Studio, the hair Geniuses! Thank you Gustavo & Kelly! Although I was born in Miami and have tried several salons ,I was more than pleasantly surprised to recieve such excellence in hair care. I not only recieved a great color and cut , but I now have a new direction in which my hair will grow into and color to amplify the look.Best part of it is it looks healthy and natural. I love to be treated as an individual with my own wants and needs in the look I want to achieve. Well I always wait till I get back to New York to have my tresses updated,....I was in a pinch and after some prodding and promises from a friend ,I got the works at Gustavo Briand Salon...............What a fantastic day for me. I live for my appearances lets say they start my day.............My colorist Kelly ...was very advanced in her knowledge of my hair type. Not only is the color fresher but the shine is to die for.....Gustavo gave me a light trim and created a whole new shape........Im sold ..........Dont miss out on this one a keeper! I moved to MIami last year and I finally found my new colorist Kelly. I met the owner Gustavo in Germany a few years back, when he was with sassoon's, he just recently opened this fabulous salon in sobe, thank god! And he introduced me to his colorist Kelly, Gustavo is brillant and so is Kelly. I also go to salon for my eyelash extensions and acupuncture, how convienent! I am actually in Chicago, not Miami, but I'm considering buying a plane ticket just to have Gustavo cut my hair. See, I have baby fine hair and not a whole lot of it, and Gustavo not only made me feel like a princes while in his chair, he also gave me a fabulous cut that gave my locks volume, was easy to style, and drew compliments from strangers months afterwards. He is by far the best stylist I've had. You're lucky to have him back in Miami! more

Gustavo has been styling my hair for close to 10 years and I travel from Palm Beach to South Miami because he is so worth it! He transformed me from a plain jane - and I've seen him do the same to everyone I have ever sent to see him. He is magic with scissors! Gustavo has a keen eye and incredible talent to bring out your individual sense of style...even if you don't know you have it.
