This was my first visit to Gustavo Studio salon. I had done a haircut and coloring there. IT WAS MY BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! I LOVE my haircut and color. Gustavo did an excellent job. Gustavo Briand is phenomenal! He and his talented team ensure that every client is catered to like royalty while providing superior services. Gustavo takes the time to listen to clients? wishes and incorporates their desires with his talent and salon magic to create beautiful, amazing results! Best private salon on the beach. 1/16/2008

An outstanding establishment: I've been using Gustavo Briand for almost 6 months now, and in that time, every haircut has been pleasing. And its not just the haircut that is pleasing, but the experience of personalized attention and careful detail. I recommend him to all my friends. Pros: Personalized attention, comfortable and quiet location, plenty of parking nearby, appointments are easy to get and emergency appointments are possible. Cons: Relatively expensive to someone who doesn't appreciate how important a good haircut is. more

Gustavo is great with cuts and highlights and I ALWAYS leave the salon very satisfied with my hair. He makes sure he understands what I want done with my hair, I feel I can trust him with my hair, he does a consistent job, and he has great style. great hair cut 1/8/2008

I went to the Gustavo Briand hair studio because a lot of my friends recommended. I have very thick hair, and am quite picky with hair stylists, so I didn't expect too much before going, but Patricia Barone's tasteful styling and skill went beyond my expectation, and I am very happy that I went there. The whole atmosphere is very nice and pleasant. They are all very professional, and try to find the best style for you. I highly recommend!!! more

Best Hair Salon 1/5/2008

I went to Gustave Briand because I had a problem with extentions. Patricia made me feel right at home and assured me she could help. Gustave colored my hair to perfection and Patricia styled to perfection. I am sold on this salon forever. They did not have an easy job but pulled it off. I love my hair cut and highlights that Gustavo did. This is very comfortable and cozy studio with awesome stylists. I have heard about the salon and it was very true! Gustavo was a very passionate stylist. I felt like he cared about my hair more than me! Best hair cut I have ever had for a long time. I am very picky about choosing the hair style and salon, but I can definitely trust him for any suggestions and changes for my hair. A friend of mine from Philly tried the salon as well. He liked it so much that he wants to wait to do his hair until he comes to miami. I would recommend it to anyone. more

Patricia is a genius!! 12/31/2007

I recently moved to Miami from NY where I was a long time Sassoon client. A friend of mind, knowing how particular I'm abour my hair, suggested Gustavo Briand Studio in South Beach since Gustavo and his stylist Patricia both came from Sassoon. In NY I had my salon, my stylist, my cut...I was set! So when I moved down here, I was really looking for a salon that felt like home, where the stylist would take one look at my hair and know exactly what to do. That is what transpired when I happened upon GBS, and more specifically, Patricia. I walked in and immediately was greeted with a smile. She took me to her chair, and we chatted for a bit about my haircut history...for the first time (even moreso than in NY), I felt like I was really being taken care of...I felt totally at ease with Patricia and trusted every snip of her scissors! It was almost as if she got my personality through our initial conversation and was able to translate that into the "personality" of my cut! 40 minutes later and I had a cut that I have never had before. It was AWESOME! I am so so happy and have already recommended Patricia to all of my friends. Serisously, if you want a cut that looks amazing, a salon experience that is relaxed and comfortable, you MUST go see Patricia at Gustavo Briand Studio! more

great haircuts awesome customer service! 12/30/2007

I have only lived in Miami for about a year and a half. I met Gustavo at an orchestral event! I went to get my haircut with Patricia, who works with Gustavo. Both Gustavo and Patricia made my haircut experience fun and comfortable! Patricia cut my medium-long hair into a short bob. I knew I needed a change so I put my hair into her hands and that was her suggestion. It ended up being completely chic. She was very, VERY thorough and the lines of the haircut were beautiful! The fact that it was so thorough made it all worth the money I was paying. All my friends and family LOVE it and I am completely happy! Everyone should go at least once! (Honestly, sometimes I feel uncomfortable at salons, but they were so easy to talk to and just really nice and fun! )...........GO! Pros: the comfortable atmosphere and awesome haircuts Cons: none more

Best salon since I left New York 12/29/2007

Gustavo did a truly amazing job correcting the mes that has been made of my hair and color since moving to Florida. He took the time to listen to my input and built from there. I now have healthy looking color rather than "straw". Patricia did an amazing job with the haricut as well. While in the salon I had the opportunity to watch her cut many people's hair and every cut looked fantastic. I'd definitely recommend this salon! more

Talent, Warmth and Great customer service!! 12/24/2007

I picked Gustavo's salon based on these reviews on city search because I've been going to salons and getting decent service but wanted someone who was really talented, and professional to update my look. I'm so glad that I decided to see Gustavo because after 10 years of being in Miami, I've finally found a hairstylist who not only pays attention to what you want but also has the professional talented eye to give you what looks good and works with the hair you have. Before I was even done with my color, Gustavo and his crew had won me over with their friendly, attentive and professional demeanor. Gustavo did my highlights and they came out absolutely perfect....just what I had always imagined but nobody ever listened or paid attention before. Gustavo gave me a very chic haircut and it's completely changed not only my look but attitude because it's hot! :) My friends and family absolutely love it and my boyfriend is very happy :) Patricia and Gustavo give their customers their utmost attention and care and I can see why these reviews show people forming a long lasting bond with them...I certainly have done the same. I'm not going anywhere else from now on. If you want to be treated like royalty and get your money's worth, this is the place to go! Trust these guys they know what they're doing!!! Happy hair days! Patricia is FAB 12/20/2007

I have been meaning to write this review for a few weeks. It is so important for me to let you all know just how fabulous the entire staff is at Gustavo Briand Studio. Every time I come to get my hair highlighted and cut I walk out feeling and looking like a million dollars. Recently, I went to see Patricia. I was looking to change my look. I got the wild idea to chop my medium length hair short like Sharon Stone. When I told her what I wanted to do she was so excited to be able to work her magic shears. The entire time, a good hour and a half, Patricia made every effort to make sure that I was feeling okay about the change. She is so attentive, communicative, and talented. When we were done I felt fresh and renewed. Even more important I look great!!! I can not recommend this salon enough. If you are need of corrective color, a hair cut, condiotioning treatment, you name it. Make sure you come to Gustavo Briand Studio. You to will feel and look like a million dollars. It is true pampering. Pros: Everything here is fabulous Cons: There is nothing negative that I can say. more

I don't like my haircut 12/20/2007

I liked my haircut when I walked out of the salon, but after I washed it, It looked like a ball of tumbleweed. It's the wrong cut for my thick curly hair and it's not a wash and go style. It's too short to fix, so I had to chemically straighten my hair by another stylist to make it manageable and presentable. I was also charged $90 which is way more than I expected to pay. more

The best salon I've come across is miami! As soon as i walked in the door i felt at home.....clean, modern design and welcoming people. Best Hair Cut! 12/15/2007

The Gustavo Briand Hair Salon has one of the best atmospheres and the two best stylists in all of Miami Beach. Not only is it filled with modern, trendy furniture and stylist's tools, it also has beautiful music playing in the background and the kindest, most warm stylists. Incredibly nuturing, personable and caring, both Gustavo and Patricia make you feel instantly that you are the most important client. They also use all natural hair cleasing and styling products which made my hair feel not only cleaner but incredibly healthy. I have had the pleasure of working with both Gustavo and Patricia before, and both are superb artists. Both being very thorough and making sure that you very happy with your hair cut and style. Being in a very visual performing arts field, you must trust your stylists. Gustavo styled my hair last year for a performance and I received many, many commments on how beautiful my hair was. Recently, I had my hair cut by Patricia and it is not only the best cut that I have had in a VERY long time (I travel all the time), but it is also one of the first times that I have walked out of a salon knowing how to style my hear for everyday use because she took the time to teach me while she was styling. I got my hair cut by Patricia for the first time, and she was great! I have never had someone working on my hair who was so thorough. She took her time, and the cut in the end was great! Also, the salon has such a great atmosphere: it feels very welcoming and also very fun. I would highly recommend it to anyone! more

I just moved to Miami Beach in September and desperately needed my hair cut and styled. I heard of the Gustavo Briand salon through some friends of mine whose hair cuts I really liked, so I decided to give it a try myself.I didn't really exactly know what I wanted when I came in, so I put complete trust in Patricia and what she thought would work with my hair; my only requirement was that I still wanted to put it up in a pony tail! I absolutely LOVE the end result; I actually have body and shape to my thin and fine hair. I can still completely put it up in a pony tail, and I just styled it myself this morning myself and it looks great! Patricia was VERY thorough and involved in the cut and style. Everyone in the salon was so nice and fun, it was a very pleasant experience! I highly recommend Gustavo Briand to anyone who is looking for a great cut and a fun relaxing experience! more

I have had my hair cut by Patricia twice now and i have loved her work each time. I can always tell that she takes care in her work, even if there are customers waiting anxiously for her to finish! It is always a pleasure to go into Gustavo's studio and I look forward to my visits. Besides, who can ask for more than a salon run by someone who love classical music and the arts, in general?! more

Hair artists! 12/7/2007

Gustavo Briand salon is like a quiet little oasis on the water where Patricia and Gustavo take care of whisking you away from drab and bring you back to fab. The atmosphere is very friendly and unassuming. Gustavo and Patricia are both masters at what they do. After 3 years of growing my hair very long and not without some trepidation, I decided that the experiment was over. Patricia cut my hair and she gave me a masterfully done style that is looking better and better as it grows in. Gustavo is the consumate perfectionist and together they are a great team. It's always a wonderful experience there. more
