great expierence here! 3/28/2012

I had a pleasant experience there.I was there last year for x-rays and mri, and just recently for an ultrasound. I came to this place because I had a referral from a friend. She was right, everyone was professional and efficient from the moment I walked in. I didn't have to wait long either, none of the times I was there. I asked for my results too, but was told they would be ready in 24 hrs and I should check back with my doctor; I can understand that, as they are not the doctors who interpret the exams and give the results. My last visit there, the ultrasound tech did a wonderful job, she explained the test to me and what she was taking pictures of. From my personal experience, when I had an ultrasound for my 1st baby, I wanted to see the screen too, but I also understood that the tech needed to see more of the screen in order to accurately do her job. In the end, she did turn the screen so that I could see. I was told the sex and the weight. I already knew my due date because that came from my OB doctor. the tech was hesitant to tell me what she got for a due date because it was different from the one in my chart (which came from my OB doctor)....perhaps this was the case. They are not doctors who give results, they are just techs who do the exam. Also, an ultrasound doesn't determine the length of the baby. How could it, if the baby is curled up inside you and moving. When the baby is born, they stretch the baby out to measure the length. I would definately come back here again if I ever need more testing done. more

Do NOT go here for an ultrasound! 2/25/2012

I went to Gulf Coast MRI for an OB ultrasound - translation, to see my little baby and find out the sex...and if not bring home a video then at least bring home some pictures of my little baby to show my other children. I got there and when I walked in the place smelled like feces - literally! Being pregnant certainly didn't help and I thought I was gonna throw up. Thankfully I didn't have to wait too long and I got called to have my ultrasound. I was sooo excited as any expectant mother would be. I got to the back and laid down for my ultrasound. I excitedly asked if they had the capability to do the videos and was told no - not all places have this so I was a little disappointed but I was ok with it - at least I'd have pictures to put in his baby book and show my older children when I finally told them about their new little baby brother. I was also disappointed to see that they did not have the second screen out in front of the mom so I could actually see well. Most places have the second screen now days so that I WAS a little disappointed in. Then I ask ok but I'll be able to get some pictures right? And the lady tells me, normally she does but she's out of ink to print the pictures. That just broke my heart. I would have nothing to show my other children, nothing to put in his baby book, nothing. I laid on the table fighting tears, trying desperately not to start crying but tears were coming out anyway. The lady didn't seem the care in the slightest and went about her business. I tried desperately to crane my neck so I could see my baby since I wouldn't even have pictures to look at, I kept telling her I couldn't see and I even turned the screen myself at one point stating that I'd like to see since I would have no pictures to look at later. She left it for a few minutes and then turned it back saying she needed to do measurements. When she looked at the gender I still couldn't see and I was trying to sit up to try to see and she turned the screen for a moment and then turned it back to herself. Clearly it was much more important to her to do what she needed to do than to share this special moment that every mother waits for her entire pregnancy. When she completed the exam she dismissed my husband and I. I stood there looking at her asking well how much did he weigh??? What was he measuring at??? She informed me that the radiologist would look at it and send a report to my doctor and my doctor would let me know. I've NEVER not been told basic information about my baby (i.e. due date, length, weight, etc). Frankly I'm surprised she told me the gender. I stormed out as I could no longer contain my tears and went out to my car and bawled all the way home. This was by far the worst ultrasound experience that I've ever had and this is coming from someone who has lost multiple babies and has been told in several ultrasounds that the baby had no heartbeat. I will NEVER go back to this place again and wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Now I have to go pay more money somewhere else to get some pictures of my little baby. more

Very positive experience 1/14/2009

Extremely professional and very quick. I was in and out within 30 minutes...and that was as a walk-up. The people were polite and very efficient. Pros: Fast, effiecient Cons: none that I am aware of more

Been there twice. Awful both times. Never again 10/24/2008

The first time I went to Gulf Coast MRI I waited 4 hours with an injured child to have an MRI done. When I would inquire on the wait, it was like I was a nuisance. Unfortunately, I had to take my child again about 6 months later, it did not improve much. Due to my prior experience, I called and verified my appointment time and specifically asked "" with an appointment will there be a long wait"", I was assured no. I waited and waited and noticed walk in patients being called in before those with appointments. When I inquired about the delay, I was told an excuse and it was very apparent the front office never advised the back we were waiting. Was there over 2 hours for a scheduled appointment that took a total of 15 minutes to complete. The front office staff really needs to have additional training in communication skills and scheduling. People have lives and obligations, they need to take that in consideration when setting these appointments. I saw person that was treated right away to get an x-ray, while another with an appointment was in the several hour club. If you have to get an MRI or Ultrasound done,I would advise another facility. I for one will not return and would not recommend this facility. Pros: The technichian was nice Cons: The Wait Time and Office Staff Unorganized more

YIKES! Never, never, never! 8/22/2006

I will never go back here again regardless of what my doctor says. I guess their equipement is fine, but I was treated like an alien. I couldn't get these people to talk to me and they were totally disorganized. Couldn't figure out my insurance. And I waited and waited and waited. It's a good thing it wasn't an emergency. Don't have an MRI here! more
