Wow, so delicious, if you love pizza as much as I do, you'll not be disappointed with this spot!

Worst

This may be the most boring pizza in New York. It seems like they use good ingredients and and cook the pie well.. but every combination I try is bland and boring. I live just dow...

The pizza here is amazing. If you want to go make a trip here make sure you go ahead of time because with pizza so delicious like this place the line is always long. more

Good not great 3/17/2012

The pizza is very good, but the attitude is so bad that I'd rather support establishments that make pizza that does not taste as good but puts at least some effort into customer service. For a list of the top 10 restaurants https://files.nyu.edu/jdy215/public more

DEFINITELY stands up to the hype 1/19/2012

My husband and I are pizza lovers, so naturally before visiting NYC from Australia, I did a little research about where to get the best pizza. Grimaldi's came up time and time again so I made sure it was on our agenda. Such the perfect way to top off a walk across the Brooklyn bridge. The area in Brooklyn Heights has a real historic feel and fabulous for your senses, The Gramaldi building is an old bank and has a lot of character inside and out. When we walked in, we were surprised by how fresh and modern it was, The pizza certainly didn't disappoint, it was EXACTLY what you would hope you pizza would taste like. The best part is that you get presented with a blank canvas to make your own pizza, so you are getting exactly what you want. The service was fast but I didn't feel rushed. Not overly friendly... they let the pizza do the talking. The restaurant is CASH ONLY. I recommend the visit. more

Ugh 1/10/2012

The pizza crust tastes like flakeboard , the sauce tastes like Ragu, the crowd thinks its cool to be cattle, cell phone conversations are loud and abundant and the illegals make the pizza. more

Great place to go! 12/18/2011

Great place. Its busy, and jam packed during busy times, but the food is great and the people are friendly. they also keep things moving pretty quickly. more

MY BOYFRIEND HAS AN ADDICTION TO THIS PLACE! 10/12/2011

""Let's go to Grimaldi's!"" This statement is expressed to me from my boyfriend no less than 5 times a month. We live about 20 minutes from Grimaldis and there is SOME GOOD DARN PIZZA in our neighborhood and well, within a 5 minute drive or train ride of us and STILL he MUST go to Grimaldis... NEED I SAY MORE? LOL more

Long wait for good pizza 7/26/2011

there seems to be a general feeling of love/hate with this place, which i'm saying is due to the wait. the pizza is good. The sauce is kind of sweet and the crust is thinish and crispy, the way that a good brick oven pie should be and the way that many places fail to make them. if you like dominos, thick crusted pies, or really topping heavy pies, you won't like this pizza. It's meant to be light and thats the way you should order it. Get it plain and you probably won't be disappointed. more

At your own risk.. 5/20/2011

We went there in 2010 and thought we'd give this place a try since it appears to be 'famous' and there is ALWAYS a line waiting outside. So we thought it must be good, right? Well, we were a party of 6 and sorry to say, none of us were impressed with the pizza. It was OK but not great. We all scratched our heads afterwards wondering why people would want to wait to get into Grimaldi's when there are so many good pizza joints in NYC. The worst, however, was spotting a big roach running underneath our table. That certainly killed off whatever appetite we had left after the first bite. In case you still want to go find out for yourself how their pizza taste, you should know that they only sell pies, no slices, unless they have changed their policy. more

Amazing Service, Delicious Pizza, Well Worth the Wait 4/11/2011

We go to Grimaldis once year after walking the Brooklyn Bridge. There's always a wait but after you take one bite it is clear why there's a wait. I don't think I have ever had better pizza, anywhere! This year my family was treated so special by the kindest manager, John, and I'm looking forward to returning soon. We ordered 2 cheese, 2 sausage, ans 2 pepperoni and I expected to wait an hour because there wasn't an empty seat in the house. Our food was served hot and delicious in about 20 minutes. LOVE LOVE LOVE Grimaldis, Thank you so much John for making our experience so wonderful more

Disappointed Again 10/24/2010

Five of us decided to fulfill a ""bucket list"" ambition to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge a few weeks ago. We were told not to miss pizza at Grimaldi's in Brooklyn and that it would be worth waiting in line for up to one hour.\r As luck would have it, there was no line when we got there. And it would have been extremely frustrating if we HAD waited, because the place was not worth it. \r First of all, four waiters were standing near our table doing nothing. We had to ask them to please take our order. The pizza is baked (not cooked!) in a brick oven which may account for the burnt crust and bottom of the pie, but it did not taste good. The top of the pizza was soggy and had almost no cheese or sauce. It tasted bitter and so was the whole experience. Don't bother, despite what the ads say. I don't know how they every got a Zagat rating but I'd sooner toss this pizza in the East River than eat it. more

Just wait in line! 1/28/2010

So good. So fresh. Somehow 5 people managed to eat 3 large pizza's... and we were all on ""diets."" I thought I was waiting in line at an amusement park. As frustrating as it may be, bring someone ahead of time to hold your hand and make sure you don't leave and remember me saying it's so worth the wait. This sign there says something like we are not responsible if you choke on seeds or pits? I thought this was a joke. That's the greeting I get after standing here like a jack a$$ all day? I'll translate it ahead of time.... OUR INGREDIENTS ARE SO FRESH THE PITS ARE STILL IN OUR OLIVES. Fresh mozzarella like you've never had before. That sign has really put a damper on all my other pizza experiences because now I search and search for it and understand why no where else can get away with it. Pros: BEST EVER Cons: ITS worth the wait more
