Grape Leaf

I lived in Louisville for 13 years and The Grape Leaf was my favorite restaurant in the entire city and considering the fact that I ate out more than I ate at home, that's saying a lot. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is the service, it has been bad at times. Now, I have to say that I generally picked my food up and took it home most of the time, but I have dinned there on several occasions and the service has been bad. The servers seemed to be inexperienced and on occasion, rude. Since I don't have the heart to stiff someone on a tip I always tip between 10 and 25 percent, based on the service. I never left a tip for more than 15 percent at this place, the food is excellent but they need to shore up their service! more

We were looking to try Mediteranian food, chose Grape Leaf. Side street parking. Tastefully decorated, well kept, and clean. Wonderful hostess/server. The suggestions and help with the chef's specials were well received by most, however there was a spice (cinnamon - maybe, not sure) that was in all lamb dishes ordered (maybe that's all mediteranian dishes - new to the flavour) . A variety of vegetarian dished. Big burrito, huge portions on every meal - worth the money. YOU GOTTA TRY: the bean dip appetizer platter. Everyone enjoyed theirselves, and the staff was 5 stars. Our son thought we had taken him to a 5 star restaraunt - overall, I would definately revisit again. Pros: Atmosphere, Service Cons: alot of cinnamon (?) more

For four years I have been recommending The Grape Leaf on Frankfurt to anyone who will listen. No more. After my experience there Saturday night, I will never eat there again, and hope to dissuade as many people as possible from doing the same. The food here is healthy with a capital H, including the portions. All the foods on the best for the body list will be found; fresh lemon juice, olive oil, avocados, organic greens, almonds, pine nuts, parsley, pomegranates, dates, fresh garlic and too many more to name. I love this place and am a regular-can you tell? On busy nights be prepared for a possible wait on your food. Pros: wonderful food Cons: sometimes slow service more
