This restaurant is small with very good prices and quality food. We tried the Piatto di Prosciutto di Parma e Parmigiano Reggiano, Trofie Salmone AFFUMICATO e Caviale- salmon pasta topped with caviar, Pollo alla Parmigiana, and their tiramisu. Everything was fresh and delicious. My only gripes are that they were out of calamari and certain cheeses on the night that we were there, but otherwise everything was fine. Also, expect European style service at this place. Enjoy! more

Went to Ghittone on 8/2/12 and had a wonderful experience. The owner was also the server, the receptionist, the bartender, which provided a very personal experience. The restaurant is quaint, small and intimate located on Washington Ave. The food was amazing. We were given fresh baked bread and spicy marinara after being seated and ordered the calamari fritti to start. The calamari was fresh, lightly battered and fried-- not heavily battered and overly fried with old grease like many other restaurants. My boyfriend ordered the baked gnocchi with meat sauce, which was extremely smooth and cheesy and delicious. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and asked for mushrooms in the dish as well-- it was delicious, cooked to perfection. The two couples that left while we were in the restaurant also ranted and raved about their meals on their way out. Would definitely recommend. more

My girlfriend and I are from New York and were in Miami for the Memorial Day weekend. We use the site Groupon a lot and saw an offer for $25.00 towards $50.00 worth of Italian cuisine & drinks. We were seated very fast and were catered to almost instantly. We are foodies and were impressed with the blend of ingredients used in both of our authentic traditional Italian meals. I ordered Penne Alle Vodka and will order the same thing the next time I return to this restaurant. It's just five stars bar none and the owner Isabella I beleive was her name she was very pleasant and helpful. Recommend!!! more

So my fiance is new to the Miami area and during my recent visit we got a restaraunt.com gift card to this place as the other reviews were really positive. When we walked up to this place there was not one other diner in the whole place at 8pm so I was a little skeptical. However, after dinner, my skepticism was GONE! Great food! Great, intimate service! The owner really takes the time to talk to you and I got the sense that she would still take that time if the dining room had been bustling. The pine nut spread for the bread is amazing! The brandy veal chop was rich and delicious with a good selection of crisply cooked veggies on the side. My fiance had ravioli and cleaned his entire plate. The tiramisu rivaled my all-time favorite tiramisu. And the suggested bottle of wine was really fantastic, as the owner pinpointed the perfect bottle from our rather less than wine saavey descriptions. I don't know why this place isn't packed every Friday night, but I will definitely be back on my next Miami trip! more

I'm a resident of South Beach so I've grown accustomed to over priced restaurants that don't know what good service or food really is. That comes with the territory when you live in a tourist trap like South Beach. But this place which just opened stands apart in many ways. The other reviews hit it on the head. Good food, nice decor, good value and you're most likely going to meet the owners and their adorable kids. The food was outstanding. Just a few blocks away from Ocean Drive which no resident would set foot one when it come to eating out. Don't fall for the tourist traps. Go say hello to the owners of Ghiottone. Not even Italy can duplicate this place. more

We originally went because of a LivingSocial voucher that we got and I am glad we went. I didn't think it would be so good because I thought it would be like a majority of the restaurants in the area that come and go but I was surprised. The restaurant is very nice, very cozy. We were greeted by the owner (I presume) and his wife (I also presume). Both of the were serving the whole restaurant, which easily has 20 tables. \r \r They have a lot to offer, a lot of variety and they divide the menu up by zones in Italy. They also have an extensive wine menu. The food was great, truly one of the best pastas I have ever eaten, simply because you could feel it was homemade.\r \r The service, although very good, is slow. If you are in a hurry you will get stressed but other than the speed the service is very good. The prices are good, around $20 per entree and a glass of wine is around $7-10. more

My husband and i have been in south beach for 5 days and our first night we ate at Ghiottone. It was the best dinner we've had in all 5 days. . We were served by the owners themselves. They have an amazing menu & were very friendly. PENNE ALLA VODKA is sooooo amazing. My husband had the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, and it was great as well. They are new to they neighborhood, and we hope more people will get to enjoy this gem. more
