Genghis Khan

This is actually a review of "Uptown China Restaurant" in the Lower Queen Anne area that I mistakenly associated with the wrong restaurant. I wouldn't go out of my way for authentic Chinese food, but I love Americanized Chinese food and consider myself something of a connoisseur. Over the past two years, I've been despairing because my favorite local joint, Pandasia in Magnolia, has been going downhill. I'd been to Genghis Khan several times for lunch and it hadn't left an impression. It was a fairly typical soup/main course/rice affair. I went there last night for dinner, and was blown away with how flavorful and substantial it was. I feasted on Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, and chow mein noodles. I left satisfied and happy to have found another solid source for good Chinese. more

If you like almond chicken, go to this place. Its the best ive had, period. The texture of the breading and the flavor will keep you coming back. The chicken peices are also substantial, not overly covered with breading. The other menu items are good too. The service is great actually with very friendly staff. Dont expect a quiet meal though and there is a bar or something above with muted music reverberating and actually vibrating the restaurant walls while you eat. Good food though. Price is average. more
