The Ballard Fred Meyer is great. They have it all at this place: Wa-Mu, Starbucks (but they also have their own interior cafe place), coinstar, day care, jeweler, groceries, cloth...

This is just terrible service. I understand it gets busy at times but whats with the attitudes. I really didnt appreciate the rude comment the lady manager at the deli made to me...

This is just terrible service. I understand it gets busy at times but whats with the attitudes. I really didnt appreciate the rude comment the lady manager at the deli made to me when I asked how long it was going to take for my sandwhich to be ready. I complained to the store director but he wasnt in at the time. Dont anybody go to the deli its a big waste and the food is nasty!!!! more

Convenient, lots of stuff, organic/healthy groceries 5/1/2006

The Ballard Fred Meyer is great. They have it all at this place: Wa-Mu, Starbucks (but they also have their own interior cafe place), coinstar, day care, jeweler, groceries, clothing, home/garden stuff, furniture, craft items, natural food, bulk food, and U-Scan. I feel better about Fred Meyer, because even though they are a chain, they're also local. They have a great return policy and nice, friendly employees. It can be crazy during peak shopping times, so I try to go in the early morning or late at night (they close at 11pm!). more

Kmart meets Safeway 4/12/2006

I've never been to a Fred Meyer before I went to the one in Ballard. Wow! It's like Kmart meets Safeway. Amazing. You can find all of the home products you need at pretty reasonable prices, and then go over and get groceries for dinner. Some of the stuff can be pretty cheezy, but it's an interesting place to check out if you're in a bind. Mind you, I got a little weirded out buying my groceries there, but if you're really needing to cut some corners... more
