Fred Meyer (Ballard)

I love this fred meyer. They have a great selection of everything. The deli is ok, but not as good as the U-Village QFC. As a somewhat new dog owner, I wish they had a better pet selection. There are good sales/cleareance items throughout the store. I have just started using the free 1 hour childcare, and both of my kids love it (3 & 6 years old) I was weary at first-don't like leaving my kids places, but Jenna the girl who works there is fabulous. There is also a Starbucks outside, and a Tully's insde. Also a WAMU (best bank eve). Parking is always easy, several doors to enter store. Great Store! more

I frequent this Fred Meyer on average about 3 times a week. Its convenient to my home, easy to find parking and reasonably priced. I mainly purchase food here and sometimes beauty products. The food prices are comparable to Safeway and often are even less. The store is always clean and well kept. Sale items are often low, but tend to be promptly restocked. The produce is always fresh and nicely displayed. They have an average selection of organic produce as well. I've never been a fan of the deli, the meat and cheese doesn't look any different from the pre-sliced and packaged variety. The bakery has a nice variety of standard and specialty cakes and the popular bake it yourself french bread. Beauty products are average priced and they frequently on sale with with coupons placed throughout aisles. The staff are average, some are more helpful than others. more

Since I do a lot of staging of client's homes for my real estate business I have found that Fred Meyer is a great place to go and get good deals on candles, candle holders, pillows, artwork and more. I've been very pleased with the overall appeal of their products and I like them better sometimes than IKEA because there is a range of styles to choose from and not just modern European. Just before I left on a recent, and much needed, vacation I went to FM to pick up bedding, lamps, lighting, candles and some other items for a new client's staging. It looked great after all was done and the professional photos that we did really did shine because of it. We sold the condo within a couple of hours of going on market. I'll continue to go back to FM for my staging needs and the bonus is that I often get to use these items in my home once certain seasons go by and styles and color trends change so I get added use from my purchases including making my guest bedroom look comfy and cozy for friends and family that stay with us. Even better is that they have some really good sales and in-store specials. I look for these to keep myself on budget on these projects. more
