I went to Forme a couple of weeks ago for a 55 minute facial with Stephanie, and it was awesome! Stephanie was very thorough, knowledgeable and professional - and my skin shone afterwards. She did a fabulous job with my difficult skin and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The spa rooms are well-appointed and very relaxing, and I felt totally pampered. I was very impressed with the salon's design and the front desk personnel were nice and accomodating. I really enjoyed my experience. more

I came to forme salon for the first time when I was looking for a good place to do the hair & makeup for my wedding. I loved the collaborative atmosphere - the stylists are not only amazing at what they do, they really take the time to learn from each other and have fun. I had my hair cut and styled at the salon first, and was so impressed that I booked for my whole wedding party. The salon offers a range of prices, which my bridesmaids really appreciated. Planning was really easy - forme handled the logistics of getting everyone scheduled and I had a great time at my hair & makeup trial. On the day of the wedding, the salon staff made all of us feel so welcome. It was like a relaxing, fun party! Everyone loved the look they got - not something I can say for every wedding I have been in! As for me, Nicole and Charla really created the hairstyle and makeup that I was dreaming of. I would recommend forme for any formal occasion! more

Owned and operated by three of the area's best stylists who traded in their gigs working for other folks and built something new - utilizing all their knowledge and talents, and paying close attention to every detail and every amenity. Seriously. They've left nothing to chance. The waiting area is comfy and they have refreshments available right there for you. \r \r From the moment you walk in the door - everything about Forme is set up to help melt away the stress and worry of your day, your week, and let you just relax into a bit of pampering - and take some time out to be refreshed, renewed, revived... and beautified. There's a full-service spa set up for facials, waxing and massage, and - a variety of highly skilled stylists to choose from. Ixie (one of the owners) has been my stylist for years - she's absolutely gifted - to the point where I can walk in, sit down and just say ""do what you want"" and know that I'm going to walk out of there looking great (and that's been the case since my very first visit). She's got such versatility...with color, cut, etc. if I want a look that's edge-y or rockstar, she can do that, if I need something more subdued or just care-free, that's simple too. Whatever the case, she always helps me out by making my hairstyle easy to re-create on my own, and she never tries to sell me product or services I don't need or want!\r \r Best part: the prices are totally reasonable (especially when you consider what you get for the money!)... and Forme is an attitude-free zone...customer service is WONDERFUL. All of the staff is friendly, warm, engaging & real - without any of that over-the top syrupy sweetness or pretension (which I hate).\r Pros: ample parking on the street or public lots for 3rd Street nearby Cons: so many great services to choose from, I could waste the day away!!! more

Loooove this place! Great environment, great location and great cuts. My stylist is Natalie Perez (used to be at Kenneth George) and she rocks. After my new do I got compliments all day everywhere I went. Pros: cuts, atmos, service, parking Cons: none so far more

I've researched hundreds of LA hair salons on citysearch and i'm so happy i found forme! Honestly, the pricing system is what initially attracted me. The fact that they offer different prices based on experience is terrific. I opted for a level 1 with Deirdre (spell?) because yes, i'm a poor college girl, and the cost of hair in la is ridiculous. A level 1 cut and color was $160.00 and that's the cheapest I found on citysearch (excluding dingy/hole in the wall places). I seriously needed a cut and color and I HATE going to salons where they promise me excellence and I leave with mediocre hair and a huge bill. I was hesitant trying this place out because i didn't want yet another hair disappointment, but i'm so happy i went! The place has great ambiance, high ceilings with simple and modern decor. Deirdre listened to what I wanted, and i can honestly say that the bumble and bumble hair products sell themselves! I NEVER buy products because personally i think it's a waste of money and i never end up using them, but i bought the leave in conditioner and the brilliantine shine/polish <----smells AMAZING. Deirdre keeps a card with the exact formula of color she uses on your hair so she can reference it for the next time, which guarantees you satisfaction every time! I'm very picky about the shade of blonde I want in my hair, as well as the cut because my hair is naturally wavy and difficult to manage sometimes, but deirdre got it dead on. That doesn't mean that I didn't have to communicate what i wanted to her (i think thats the main reason why clients leave unhappy-that or the stylist didn't listen), but deirdre LISTENED. I left smiling and feeling great and the money was definitely well worth it! also parking was easy because they have a lot. I had the pleasure of spending 2(?) hours with Sharla Baker (excuse the same last name) recently. I went in looking brassy and shaggy. She did her magic! Took her time to weigh the different colors/techniques/cuts which would transform my 60 years into a lighter and more ""with it"" woman. Unlike stylists who just use one color all over the head she took the time to match my various natural shades with ""new colors"" to create an over all the head VERY COOL and BEAUTIFUL color with highlights and lowlights which seem to have done something to my face which takes away 10 years!!! \r \r Great Salon! I love going to Forme Salon, Lynette has been cutting my hair for many years. Lynette always keeps me up to date with my hair. She now owns forme salon with two other wonderful woman. Her staff makes me feel welcome and i always look forward to getting my hair cut, the girls who wash my hair have magic fingers, it is so relaxing. When you first walk through the doors of Forme Salon, there is a welcoming and friendly greeting. The atmosphere is very cool but not intimidating, friendly with a great sense of calm and comfort. Ixie has been my stylist for several years and I am always pleased with what she does with my hair. She will always ask what I have in mind but because I trust her sense of style and input, I always ask for her opinion. In the past, I've had experiences at other salons where I had tried to convey what I wanted done and I would end up with a hair style I did not like. I have never had this experience with Ixie. I am always completely satisfied. more

Sharla Baker is unrivalled in color and updos. I have been highlighting my hair with her for about 8 years--she is truly a perfectionist (as am I) and I have had nothing but complements for all of those years. Her updos have become incredible--I have her do them for every event I attend. As an added bonus, she is super organized, friendly and punctual. She is without a doubt the best ""hair"" person I have ever found. I cannot say enough!!! more

Sharon Vidal has been doing my color and highlights for years now, I have been DARK , gone LIGHT , and she has always picked great colors , and helped me decide on what would be a good change as well as placed highlights in great places (depending on my mood, if I wanted them natural or big )\r Through the years she has also managed to keep my hair feeling good through all the changes , I appreciate that. You know that if i'm taking the time to actually write a review of something, it's THAT GOOD. I am a loyal patron of stylist Sharla Baker at Forme Salon, and have been for more than 5 years. After a recent move, I currently reside more than 40 minutes from Forme Salon, but keep on going back. She's THAT GOOD. I'm no expert on style (or Form(e) for that matter), but what I do know is that she does a consistently quality job cutting my hair. And I don't have one of those easy heads of hair. I've got a thick, out of control, looks like a goddang wolfman after 4 weeks head of hair. But somehow she tames it, thins it, shapes it, and finesses it to make me look like a rockstar time and time again. She's THAT GOOD. I know that she also sends her scissors to Japan for a scissor-master or something to sharpen, so she takes this stuff seriously. The salon, born out of the entreprenurial flight of all of Kenneth George Salon's top stylists, is clean and edgy, and they want your business so no snobby attitudes, which is a nice change. Love it, love it, love it and I especially love Ixie a co-owner of the salon. My daughter and I have been driving from San Diego for the past 7 years for Ixie's great haircuts; you can imagine my delight when she decided to strike out on her own and open Forme. It's everything I've come to expect over the last 12 years. Besides the great service the salon is hip and fresh, with great refreshments and no attitude. more

I went to Forme Salon a few months ago and was blown away by my experience. Their reception staff was very friendly in their greeting and offered me coffee, tea and oreo cookies! What better way to start off my two hour hair appointment than with oreo cookies! My appointment was with one of the owners of the salon and she was enthusiastic and well prepared with my color and cut. I told her ahead of time what I was looking for and she did not disappoint. I can honestly say that I walked out of that salon looking like a million bucks without having to pay a million bucks. If you want the perfect cut, color and style you MUST go see Ryan. He really knows what's best for your hair. He knows what the latest styles are and the best products to use. I have never been disappointed with any cut or color he does for me. I have told all my friends to go to him and they just love him and his work. Bored with your hair? Need a new look? Tired of your hair-stylist? Well, look no further - FORME is what you need. What do you do when your hair-stylist leaves their old salon...you follow them, which is exactly what I did. After 7 years of devotion to my amazing hair-stylist, she and her partners have finally opened their own salon...and it's the best place in town. Why should you believe me? Because I am incredibly picky, didn't trust anyone with my limp hair for years, have been consistently happy with the results, and I wouldn't pay for just any old cut and color. Not to mention the ambiance (yes, that matters to me) - modern and chic with a throw-back to retro, without the usual LA attitude. What a treat! I was an actress in L.A. and use to getting awesome haircuts. Then I had 3 kids, became a stay at home\r mom and had to cut the budget. I tried some of the cheaper chain salons, and after living with their cut,\r remembered why I had been willing to pay for expensive haircuts when I had the money. I needed to cut the\r budget but still wanted to look good. I found that 'forme' had an educational program. They train students\r to cut, color and style hair, but are always overseen by the expert educators that work at forme. I made an\r appointment with Cynthia. She greeted me with a hug and was so warm and friendly. She gave me the cut and highlight I wanted. Cynthia's smile and personality made the time go by fast. She always had an educator checking on her choices of color, or checking to see if the angle of her cutting was the best angle for the type of look I was going for. She was great. I would highly recommend forme and their education night for anyone on a budget who doesn't mind spending a little more time at the salon getting pampered, in exchange for a professional haircut and color. Oh, and by the way, coming from an artist, you have to go in and see how cute they've decorated the salon. Thier price is only $10.00 for a cut and $15.00 for a color/highlight. more

Amazing Service, Great Staff! FORME all around is a great salon. Sara the receptionist is friendly and great help. The service is always suburb. The owners are great friends and exceed your expectations. The salon is modern yet comfortable. I've been seeing Natalie for about 5 years now and let me tell you she is amazing. She always knows what i want and delievers her best! She is the best when it comes to curly hair, she herself has curly locks. Everytime I leave her chair I feel like a new person. She can really make you feel like a million bucks!! All of my friends go to her,I keep her cards in my wallet she is worth every penny! Check it out, great people, great environment, great stylists! ive lived in santa monica for 20 years now and i never knew this salon existed... it must have appeared out of thin air i swear! i wandered in yesterday (sunday) and was completely taken back! The girl at the front desk sharlette gave me tour of the salon and let me drink coffe and eat cookies for free! I didnt make a reservation yet because i cant afford it right now but as soon as i can i cant wait to get my hair done. Pros: great customer service!!! Cons: no price list to take with me more

From the looks of the last review someone has already discovered the West Side's best kept secret. STEPHANIE! She is the best all around to take care of all of your facial and waxing needs.\r \r With facials she covers every pore, getting you the beautiful skin you have always wanted. I became a believer a couple of years ago when I was experiencing adult acne for the first time. Having had perfect skin for a lifetime before this, I was in a panic. This is when I discovered Stephanie and she found me the right products to use and gave me regular facials until my skin was back to normal. Now I get compliments on my skin everyday!\r \r In the waxing department, the girl has skills. She takes her time to ensure your brows are perfectly sculpted. I never feel rushed like some places that work factory style. For other more sensitive areas, she is as speedy and pain free as possible. \r \r So, if you want to have all your skin care needs taken care of, see Stephanie. Havinging previously gone to aesthetician Stephanie at a prior salon for eyebrow waxing and shaping, I finally let her tackle my much ignored skin. Why hadn't I done this years ago? Because I hadn't found Stephanie. Not only is she artistic and detailed in eyebrows, she is the facialist queen. My skin looks and feels amazing. I now see her every three weeks, and I am complimented on my complection regularly. I had no idea what a difference a truly excellent facial could make. I've had facials in the past with different aestheticians at different salons, but never wanted to return a second or third time. She is comprehensive with extractions and really inspects and treats your skin to note your individual needs--all of this while pampering you at the same time. Her work is both therapeutic and artistic. Part of me didn't want to write this review for fear that Stephanie would become overbooked and difficult to see, but she's too talented to keep as a selfish secret. I will definitely be a regular.
