Best

Reviewers who gave this place a negative review are completely mistaken. I have been to Brazil several times, and know exactly what to expect when it comes to authentic churrasco...

Worst

Very weak compared to those Churrascarias in other major US cities. This was disappointing and not cheap.

Disgusting 6/16/2006

I'm sorry, how in the world is this restaurant getting such a high score? I'm speechless. Really. People who work there, EXTREMELY rude, the value for very mediocre food is not good at all. more

Excellent Place! 3/9/2006

This place is great. We had a party of 45 people whicha s you know is impossible to make everyone's palate happy, was ideal. Excellent choices, fabulous service and great atmosphere. I like places where you can enjoy having great conversations and being scene. Not for those who are looking for that super quiet evening. Definetly worth the price where do you get all those choices of steak and seafood for one price and its unlimited. Overall, absolutely worth the visit!! Pros: Excellent food, Service, Great Price Cons: Crowded more

Save your money for a better place! 2/18/2006

We've eaten in many Brazilian steakhouses from Orlando to Chicago. This was the ultimate disappointment. The meat was inedible the least to say. After the raw pork wrapped in rather cooked than roasted bacon, the greasy sausage and the tasteless chicken leg, we decided to share the experience with the owner who clearly saw the untouched food on our plates and leave. Based on her gracious offer to ""compensate"" the experience we paid ninety eight dollars for four plates of salads (this was the appetizer) and a bottle of cheap wine. We got the desserts for free, and an experience which has left a very long lasting bitter taste in our mouth. Cons: low quality food, overpriced wines, bad communication more

What a Bad experience for an expensive dinner 1/30/2006

I live in NYC where I am always eating out. I went to visit family out in AZ and thought, let's go to Brazilian ... yum!!! NOT! Horrible service, bad food and management is rude. Never will I waste my money on that dump again! more

One of the Best Dining Experiences. Truly Unique! 12/22/2005

Atkins lovers, this is the place! The rules. ""First start at the appetizer bar,35cold dishes, shrimp, crab legs, portobelo mushrooms etc&4hot dishes. There's a; I'll call it a remote; colored red, green, yellow. ""After the appetizer bar, Flip the remote to green. They bring5side dishes; rice, fried bananas, beans, farofa, vinagrette. Meat runners (circuling w/swords of meat, SIrloin, top sirloin, beef ribs, pork ribs, turkey wrapped in bacon, sausage, chicken legs, garlic steak, ham, pork loin, lamb) carve the meat tableside. Then get ready4a 6foot dessert cart (choc. truffles, cocunut cake, choc. cake, passion fruit mousse, choc. mousse, tiramasu, creme brulee)."" Everyone had a blast!!! The appetizer bar... Good enough for a full meal. As the remote turned green we were bombarded with meats, coming from all sides. They'll cook it to your liking, rare, medium or well..just ask. Tiramasu which was good! Good food, lots of food, and great time. Pros: Food, Service, Experience more

What a treat! 12/11/2005

The ambience was great, the food was wonderful! The meats were full of flavor and the Brazilian style of a buffet had a good variety of veggies and different salads. We will defiantly visit this establishment again and again! Pros: Food, Decor, Selection more

Worst Churrascaria Experience EVER!!! 11/10/2005

I went to this restaurant based on the high ratings from citysearch...sorely, sorely disappointed. I can't go on and on, but in short, the food was mediocre..paired with one of the worst waitstaff I've ever seen. Example...we were still trying to get people to come over with meat, and three different waiters kept trying to rush us out, asking if we wanted dessert. Another example...we had to ask multiple times for many things after just sitting there forever (restaurant was not crowded yet at this point)...and they were so snooty. Their ""creme brulee"" was refrigerated rice pudding for sure. DO NOT GO THERE. Pros: Sodas, Nothing else Cons: Service, Service, Awkward seating more

Total Disappointment 7/6/2005

I took my boyfriend for his birthday to try something new. We were very disappointed to say the least. The service was good but that was to be expected as there were only 3 or 4 other tables and a ton of employees. The ambiance for such an expensive restaurant was below average. Everyone in the other reviews talk about the great salad bar. It was ok, it had a lot of unidentifiable items. We we're mostly dispointed with the meats and sides (boring). Most of the cuts were fatty and salty and we ended up skipping dessert. The entire meal took less than an hour and ended up costing $90.00. I would not go there again. Pros: good service, good parking Cons: Expensive, ambiance more

Meat Lovers Only!!!! 12/31/2003

Anyone who enjoys good meat would be insane to skip this place. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and wide selection of dishes that you don't normally find at mainstream restaurants. The salad bar was great and could have been the meal itself. Once we flipped the dowel to green, we were overwhelmed with choices of meat that we couldn't turn down. Every meat was extremely delicious and I was lucky to be able to walk out on my own two feet. My kids, who tend to be picky eaters, also ate their weight in meat and left the restaurant saying that it was the best meal they ever had. Bottom line; there are not many places you can go to sample that many main dishes in one sitting for one price. You better get to this restaurant before the rest of Phoenix figures it out! Pros: Food, atmosphere, price Cons: better, come, hungry more

Over Rated, There Are Better Choices... 6/19/2003

Never wanted to write review until now. After eating at Brazilian restaurants around the world, I wanted to introduce my father to this unique dining. Dining room was not crowded we thought we would have lots of attention. Wrong. Service was slow, uneven. The salty meat came at snail pace. Diners surrounding us were complaining that they saw the sirloin only once that night but the inexpensive chicken and sausages came more often. Others joked about the fact that the ""all out"" dinner costs $30 but there was no ""all out"" experience. If it wasn't Father's Day, I think more than one table would have walked out. I'm willing to give Brazilian cuisine another try but not at Fogo e Brasa. Stick to traditional steak houses. I saw the owners around the bar, I hope you take my opinion as constructive and fix what's really broken. Pros: ample salads, but who goes to a BZ, steakhouse for salad? Cons: salty meat, waiting for meat, slow uneven service more

AWSOME 4/19/2003

Just ate dinner there with 6 friends, and all I can say is, WOW... Dont expect dinner to be over with in an hour, more like 3. Service is not slow at all, but there is so much food. The ""Salad Bar"" alone is a meal, then you get to add 3 different types of steaks, lamb, pork, chicken and pineapple, yes, pineapple they roast and slice at your table. All the meats are brought to your table and sliced for you, the meats were all awsome, the steaks were a little too raw for me, other then that the flavor was first rate. Would I go back, HELL YEA, just make sure you are not in a rush and that you are hungry. Pros: Great selections, friendly staff, LOTS of food Cons: Steaks too raw for me, Needs more space, for lager parties more

Gotta Go At Least Once! 1/20/2003

Went on a Saturday night -- it wasn't completely full, but I am sure word-of-mouth will fill this place soon. I went to a Brazilian Steakhouse in New York City and loved it. I was thrilled to see one open in the Phoenix area. Unique, comfortable dining experience. Go hungry! more

An incredible Taste of Brazil! 7/13/2002

""All you can eat Steak&Salad Bar"" but far more than that. The salad bar has 20cold dishes(Shrimp cocktail,Crab legs,Calamari,Octopus, mussels, etc.)& 3hot dishes (scallops, grouper etc.) which vary everyday. Now the best part! They keep wooden dowels on the table where one side is green(means GO!), the other red (STOP!).After you feast on the salad bar, flip the dowel to green&meatrunners come to your table w/meat on long swords&begin slicing it right on your plate(not the typical buffet). They offer 15 types(chicken,sausage,pork-loin,lamb,ribeye,flank,beef ribs, short ribs etc.)&keep coming until you flip the dowel over to red or lay it on it's side(surrender!).If you have any room left(can't see how, but try), they'll wheel over a 7foot dessert cart($5/dessert).I ate 'Brigadeiro"", Brazilian chocholate truffle, that was amazing. My wife had ""Flan"", then she had two! Food&service are 1st class.Fogo's a unique place that we've never experienced before. Can't wait to go with family & friends for their first taste of Brazil! Pros: Experience, Food, Service more
