I love this place, I hate snobby trendy places that don't have real class, Flemings does. Our waiter even made my picky husband happy by butterfly cutting and cooking his steak to...

If you've been to Flemings in other cities then pass on SLC The service was adequate at best and the kitchen wasn't that good. The green beens were over cooked and the carrots w...

Terrible Food, Poor Service, and then Gouged!!! 1/21/2006

After waiting 40 minutes the food finally arrived cold and under cooked. I had ordered the steak medium but it arrived rare. The shrimp that came on the side tasted dried up and tasteless. Unfortunately the service was quite bad as well. Our waiter was spread throughout the restaurant and seemed occupied with a big dinner table. At times he would provide a menu and then arrive back before we could have a chance to review it. At other times he was absent for long periods and would not make eye contact. Neither the roving manager nor waiter ever asked if our meal was satisfactory. Having ordered the special (not priced on menu or disclosed) it was rather shocking when the bill arrived and the special had been priced significantly higher than other similar dinner entrees. The only food that arrived promptly was what was dried on the wine glass. more

Throwing it back on the fire???? 6/6/2005

Steaks were served and we cut into them....asked for ""medium plus"" got ""bloody plus"" even the waitress said....""please let me take these back and have them cook them a little longer."" After doing that....the steaks were not tender and the outside was so burnt it sure wasn't worth the $140.00 tab at the end!!!! We waited forever for the steaks....we had reservations at 5:45 and so it wasn't busy....don't know what the problem was, but after traveling for 2 1/2 hours to get there...it wasn't worth the drive or the money. Very dissapointed and wouldn't go back unless we had a gift certificate to make up for the disasteress evening! Pros: atmosphere Cons: Expensive, Burnt Steaks, unclean plates more

Flemings has potential 5/5/2005

There are very few good fine dining restaurants in the SLC area, so it is nice to see a restaurant like Fleming's helping to remedy the situation. I have been to Fleming's SLC quite a few times and the experience has been quite mixed. In some cases the service and food is on par with what you expect from similar steak houses elsewhere in the U.S. Other times you are stuck with average cuts of meat or fish served by a young, inexperienced kid that you would expect to find at a much cheaper restaurant. Maybe it was just his form of subtle condescension when our waiter told us they didn't carry any brand of White Zinfandel, but that he had a nice Beringer blush Zinfandel instead. I always thought the *waiters* were supposed to make fun of the *guests* that didn't know White Zinfandel isn't white. Pros: Good steaks Cons: Mediocre service more

If you've never been to a real Steakhouse... 3/31/2005

...you probably wouldn't know that you have to order the sides individually. This is the steakhouse's way of saying, ""Our steak is so incredible it stands alone."" And trust me, Fleming's stands alone. Romantic atmosphere, tremendous service, and to die for food. The steaks melt in your mouth! If youre not willing to pay for the best then this probably isn't the place for you. Pros: food, atmosphere, service more

Very Happy 3/1/2005

We went for our anniversary. The atmosphere was not the most romantic place, but it was still very romantic. The food was very, very good!! The steak felt like it melted in your mouth. One thing to keep in mind is the portion's are very big. You could easily share the sides, and salads. Even the steak for that matter. You definately do not leave hungry. Our server was very informative with suggestions and was apologetic and gave us a complimentry appetizer when our's took longer than expected to come to the table. The manager even came over and apologized. If you like wine, try the Wine Flights. Bit pricey, but worth it, if you want to splurge!! Pros: Tasty Food/Wines, Service/Management, Atmosphere Cons: Bit Pricey more

flemings 11/29/2004

best steak in utah, ive been ther 6 times and wont eat steak anywhere else. breaded brie is a good starter then the filet and some flemings potatoes. then the chocolate cake or the key lime pie is great. service and the wine list is the best i have had. Pros: food, service, selection more

Fantastic 2/22/2004

The finest restaurant in Salt Lake. The food was fantastic and the service was just as good. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody. Pros: Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Excellent Service more

Love It! 11/24/2003

We eat here often - we have only had a crusty waitress once. We love the food and the surroundings. Pros: Nice Place, For A, Romantic Date Cons: Stuck Up Hostesses more

WAAAAAAY Overpriced!!!!! 10/20/2003

The decor is pretty. The steaks were very tasty, but the service was fair. Calling the appetizers fair would be generous. The tomato and mozarella salad used tasteless supermarket tomatos at the peak of tomato season. The worst of it though was the outrageous prices. $11 for a shrimp appetizer containing 4 shrimp!? Everything was ala carte, so on top of the stratospheric steak prices, we had to pay an extra premium for side dishes. Pros: tasty steaks, ambiance Cons: overpriced, overpriced, overpriced more

Mr 7/1/2003

We have been to Flemings many times. The food is great, never had a better steak. The service was supurb. The sides are large enough to share and so are the desserts. Close your eyes at the prices. If you want the best you pay for it. Its a place to go for that special night out. Pros: Quality of Food, Great Service, Atmosphere more

Rave Ribeye Review 5/5/2003

I had been recommended to Fleming's by a co-worker who had raved about the place, and for good reason. The Ribeye was the finest I've ever had, and the sides and libations were perfectly complimentary. The ambiance was fantastic. more

Thumbs Up 2/24/2003

The food was delicious...filet mignon and crab legs. The a la carte menu isn't the best value but tasty indeed. I wouldn't recommend the wicked barbecue shrimp appetizer...you only get 4 shrimp. The wine list is impressive but like everywhere else, it can be spendy. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. It's a cozy place with good food. Pros: Filet Mignon, Wine List Cons: A la Carte Sides more

Good for Entertaining, or droppins $. 2/4/2003

Good Food, Nice Atmosphere. Great Wines. Great place to smooze your clients, take a date, or just drop some extra cash. But if you just want to get out and have a good meal, I would go somewhere else. Pros: Al'a Carte, Valet Parking, Good Location Cons: Al'a Carte, Expensive more

I have been to Flemings several times and have been happy each time. They have a great wine list and the portions are ample. While it is on the expensive side, the service and the ambience are first rate. I like Flemings much more the Shula's more

Best in SLC!!! 8/28/2002

This place is great! Our service was unlike any other I have experienced in Utah. The restaurant is beautiful as well, I felt as if I was in another city like Sanfrancisco or New York. The food was simple, but prepared perfectly. 100 wines by the glass is especially amazing! Fleming's is a great addition to SLC. more

love the wine list 8/27/2002
