Excellent service 12/13/2011

I called Famous Appliances Service about the problem with my microwave, and they came on the same day at the time that was convenient for me. The work was done fast , technicain was friendly, the price was fair. Thanks for the service. more

EXPENSIVE AND TARDY 10/7/2011

I had an appointment between 11 am and 2 pm. At 2:10 I called the office. She found out that they were having problems with the stop before me. She said they would call when they were on their way. They never called. They finally showed up at 3. They quoted $244 plus tax. I said your kidding, it wasn't that much last time I had to have the electronic ignition fixed. He said all the prices went up. It was less than $100 last time. I had to wait for the invoice on my email. I checked the price on the part $156. I since checked the part online and found it for $20 and the most the part was was $80. WOW WHAT A MARK UP!!!!!!! I will never use them again! I was suppose to get a courtesy dryer vent check and he didn't even say anything about that. Check around before you agree to anything. Even if it means another day with out the oven. more

I also thought it was a little pricey. Surprised by how much it costs to fix a fridge and we couldnt even fix all the pieces cause it would cost us too much. \r They did come out quickly and the service-man was nice. Doing this rating will save me 10% off my price, so that is like 40 bucks... Thanks famous appliance.. more

I also thought it was a little pricey. Surprised by how much it costs to fix a fridge and we couldnt even fix all the pieces cause it would cost us too much. They did come out quickly and the service-man was nice. Doing this rating will save me 10% off my price, so that is like 40 bucks... Thanks famous appliance.. more

Company provides prompt next day services. A little on the pricy side, although they have the lowest house-call fee out there. Called GE and asked about the price on the part they are replacing, part costs $130, my total invoice from Famous is $300 after labor. However, I am a little stuck as Sears no longer services GE, and other people charge $70 to just come look. Overall, I'd give 4 stars, but get 10% off for a 5 star rating, so I'm trying to save the money. Overall, satisfied, but wish they could have done it for a little less. more

Dryer Repair --- WAY Overprices Part! 8/13/2011

Called and had them come out due to the dryer not heating. I had no issue at all with their service charge. But the part was $128...but the same part new from Amazon/Sears/appliance parts stores is $18. Called and the receptionist told me that they barely make anything on hte part and the extra is to cover the cost of the reapir guy to come out, his truck, and the warranty. I'm sorry, but an extra $110 for this is a bit ridiculous. I started out nice but she didn't seem to care about my opinion and concerns. So please be VERY CAREFUL when dealing with them and watch their part costs. more

I would recommend going with Famous Applicance Service. They were accomodating for scheduling and worked with my busy schedule. The technician was also knowledgable and helpful with fixing the problem. Also friendly and pleasant. more

The repair technician, Eric, was prompt, very personable, and knowledgable. He diagnosed and worked very quickly, giving information and options along the way. He provided several repair scenarios with separate estimates. I am very satisfied with the repair and would highly recommend this company. more

They will cheat you. 6/6/2011

These people will steal from you. I had 2 technicians come fix my washer. I payed the first guy 400 dollars and it didnt work then they sent another guy out the next day and charged me 100 more dollars. THen my washer broke the next month and ruined my hardwood floors. They would not give me any money back and asked if they could have my washer for training purposes. I knew they would just sell it. They were cruel on the phone and I think they just say things are broken to get money out of you. These guys are evil. more
