open 24 hours 3/16/2011

Falls Road is not only open 24 hours with a shock trauma team of employees and facility available, but they give wonderful service and care. I have yet to have a terrible experience, when I have over booked myself for that day and found myself rushed I learned not to do that again in the future. I go to Falls Road because I know that I will receive great care, my animals are happy I am happy and am relieved to know that the same Doctors will be caring for my pet in time of emergency. Thank you Falls Road for your wonderful service! more

BEWARE! Do NOT take your pets here!! 3/12/2011

Terrible place!!! They charge a fortune and are more than happy to suggest treating your pets "inpatient" so they can squeeze the most money possible out of you, while administering every test in the book! You never see the same vet twice, but they all recommend the most expensive care. I once took my dog there when he was having a massive GI upset. They would not so much as take his temperature until I had signed the "contract" for payment of their estimated treatment costs ($1700!!). I am not sure how they arrived at the estimate as they had not done any lab work and barely looked at my dog. I took him to another vet, who advised me to watch and wait after thoroughly checking him out. My pet improved within 24 hours. I have spoken to many, many people who have had similar experiences, or worse.\r \r As for the kennel, it was immediately after my dog had boarded there that he had his gut problem. They refused to take any responsibility and would not so much as look into it to s more

Unnecessarily Painful 3/11/2011

My one and only experience of this place was absolutely terrible. At 6:30am, on a rainy day, I found a little dog hit on the road... The dog was and seemed to be paralyzed, or in shock and dying. The closest place open was Falls road animal hospital. There was no other customers in the office for that 30 minutes - They treated me like a criminal, completely unwilling to do a basic search to see if any owners had lost such a dog recently (as it was clearly a family pet). They were discourteous, rough in handling the animal, and played guilt-trip tactics to make me pay over $150 for the ""proper"" euthanasia and disposal of this dog. They suggested that it was my dog and that I was just trying to dump it off with them. It was stated that they would take the dog in the back and take care of it... however, they allowed this animal to be alone, suffering needlessly for an inordinate amount of time, before getting around to the case, because they seemed too busy doing routine office work. As I looked around at the celebrity photos on the wall, I realized what a facade this place is- it makes me ill thinking about that experience, and how, if that had happened in the middle of the day with other patients/customers, the behavior of the staff (including the doctors) might wave been very different. I told them I found is dog hit in the road, dying, and it was trusting like a family pet, but it may be stray. A month or so later, I received a card from them saying how wonderful it was that I brought my dog ""Stray"" to be their patient, and would I like to set up another appointment.(?!) more

care and patience 3/11/2011

My dog has been a patient at Falls Road animal hospital for 3 years now and I have never seen him treated with anything more than care and patience. He even seems to remember the techs and runs right up to them to say hi. Recently, I have been taking him to the doggie day care at Falls Road twice a week. I can't believe how much he seems to enjoy his time there, he practically pulls my arm out in the morning when we arrive at Falls Road, and When i pick him up he is nothing but smiles! Also, I just found out that he can receive his shots during the day when he is at doggie day care so that I don't have to schedule an appointment. I love this idea and I love Falls Road for making it so affordable and convienent. Thank you! more

I will be a return customer for life 3/10/2011

I felt that I could easily call and reach someone to talk too at any time of the day or night. Which I actually did take advantage of when at 2 AM- I just had to check on how the de-claw went on my two cats. They promptly answered my call, checked in on them, gave me a complete update and put me at ease. (* did I mention this was at 2 AM? I've never found a place so available to meet mine and my pets needs before). I will recommend Falls Road Animal Hospital, Dr. Hammond and his team to anyone any time. I will be a return customer for life!! more

above and beyond 3/8/2011

The staff was professional, courtesy and knowledgeable. They were are to answer all my questions with care as well as make me feel as if myself and my pets were their top priority. The reminder calls and follow-up with the physicians prior to and after the procedures also went above and beyond. more

care has always been first class 3/7/2011

I've been going to Fall Road Animal Hospital for as long as I can remember. The care has always been first class. Everyone that I've dealt with has been professional and has always made the right call for both my dogs. Just last week we had to put our 20 year old Schnoodle Cookie to sleep. We credit the years of good care from Falls Road Animal Hospital with the many years we were able to spend with Cookie. When it came time to put Cookie out of her misery FRAH treated her and us with the utmost kindness and respect. The staff even sent us a sympathy card that was hand written and signed by members of the staff and the Vet that attended to Cookie. We are forever grateful to FRAH and would recommend their services to everyone. more

great staff, very reasonable price 3/3/2011

great staff, very reasonable price, owned by Dr. Kim J. Hammond, this place has treated my pets and my friends' pets extremely well, from the norm (dogs, cats, etc) to the more exotic ones (hamster, guinea pigs). more

The vet saw her right away 3/1/2011

My cat developed some troubling UTI-like symptoms when we were visiting Baltimore last weekend, so I took her in for an emergency visit on Saturday. I mostly just wanted to make sure she wasn't really sick or dying. The vet saw her right away, and my cat is now home and recovering from stress-induced cystitis. more

They have someone dedicated as a 'pet concierge' 2/25/2011

I was moving a dog overseas which requires a ridiculous amount of paperwork, as well as multiple visits to a vet that's endorsed by the USDA. Dr. Herko was one of two vets in the area, so that's what brought us here. They have someone dedicated as a 'pet concierge' maintaining order the waiting area and bringing paperwork to you while seated. While trying to control a 50 lb dog, this is a huge help. more

Very Impressed With Their Compassion 2/4/2011

My wife and I found a dying rat not far from this animal hospital--she had clearly been poisoned. We came in and asked the staff to euthanize her, because there was no way she was going to recover. The hospital doesn't normally treat wildlife, but to their credit, they immediately agreed. Even though we offered to pay for their service, they refused payment. Clearly, they just wanted to help this poor girl. We were very impressed by their compassion, and especially impressed that even though we offered to pay, they refused to accept our money. more

Am Very Thankful For The Emergency Service 2/2/2011

I just had to write and tell you about my recent experience at your hospital. My champion, 4lb chihuahua presented with a dystocea late Wednesday night. As a part time veterinarian, the hospitals where I practice were either too far to reach in a timely manner or not staffed for emergency surgery after hours. Fortunately, your facility provides this much needed , emergency service and I can't tell you how pleased and thankful I was with the care my dog received from your staff. more

Am Very Grateful For Falls Road Animal Hospital 2/1/2011

I just wanted to say how grateful I am that Falls Road is there. When my dog ate a bunch of raisins he was rushed by my father to the Falls Road for emergency care. And what care he received!! Top notch service and treatment. I was out of town at the time but the doctors and staff kept me well informed with his progress. And the night I got back into town they were more than happy and understanding of the situation and allowed me to stay with my friend for as long as I wanted. The amount of time I spent there with out once feeling like I was in the way made me appreciate them even more. And I got to see that it truly is great hospital fully staffed at all times ready and able to handle almost anything that comes through their door. Any time you need a vet, regular routine or Emergency care, Falls Road is where to turn to. Recently went back for a visit and everyone remembered us. more

Falls road is my number one choice for sick or injured pets! 1/25/2011

I have been to several vets over the years, as I have owned a good handful of pets, and I find their rates to be pretty comparable.I would suggest (especially to dog owners!) to invest in pet insurance, which can cover anything from vaccinations to emergency surgeries. The main reason I now choose falls road animal hospital is due to the special care I know my pet will receive! When my cat had a urinary blockage last month, I was worried sick. Unlike many animal hospitals, the technicians actually allowed me to come in the back and visit him! Even though I must have been in the way, since their work on the other patients didn't skip a beat. It is also great to know that they were back there all night long, in case anything should go wrong with his treatment. Falls road is my number one choice for sick or injured pets! more

Only Vet I trust 1/22/2011

My cat had a swollen lip and I took him to Eastern Animal hospital. I left with a $145 Bill from numerous test and medicines they said he needed. 2 months later same issue appeared but i decided to take him to Falls Road Animal Hospital. They gave him one shot and he was done. They didn't try to make me get additional test or meds. I am so pleased with their quality of care. THEY are in it for our pets not the extra money! I will transfer all my pets here cause this is who can be trusted! more

Hats off to a wonderful place 1/21/2011

I have to say that Falls Road Animal Hospital has been wonderful with each experience I have had there. I would never take my pets any where but there. A couple of nights ago I had to take my puppy there to be treated to a mild allergic reaction. All of the staff was very attentive, courteous, friendly and made sure that my pet and I were both comfortable and treated with great hospitality. The ER veterinarian was wonderful! There were several other emergencies being seen at the time, more serious than my pet's, when I was there, yet my puppy was tended to as soon as we were checked in, and she was taken back to be treated as soon as it was possible, and I was kept updated on her status by the techs. I am thankful for Falls Road and the the staff there. Hats off to a wonderful place. more

They Have Staff That Specialize In Reptiles 1/14/2011

I went to Falls Road Animal Hospital because my leopard gecko had some shed stuck to his groin and I couldn't get it off. I had heard they have three vets there who specialize in reptiles. The vet got the excess skin off of him within a few minutes, and was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was only charged $50, which was a big relief. more

Very Grateful 1/12/2011

I recently had to take my pet to the vets in the middle of the night. I went to the Falls Rd. Animal Hospital. The people there were extremely helpful and concerned not only for my pet , but also for my well being. They were all very kind and compassionate and truly concerned. I will never be able to thank them enough for what they did for my pet and the way they treated me. I will eternally grateful to all of them. more

Top-notch care 1/10/2011

I found my experience at Falls Road Animal Hospital to go beyond my expectations. The prices for the top-notch care is also amazing. The total bill for 2 cats both being de-clawed, 2 routine vaccines, 1 complete dental care cleaning, and 3 days/night of 24 hour care for less than $900. My previous vet wanted to charge $1000 is for the dental cleaning alone. I know I got my monies worth and than some and without loosing the quality of care and experience I wanted for my pets. more
