FYI... Empress Carpet & Furniture's dba (doing business as) King's Furniture Incorporated. I'm providing this info for when you have to sue them (note I say 'when', not 'if'), you have this added information.
Craig, the owner, needs to step up to the plate and do as he promised his customers. I originally spent over $5000 with empress years ago, and when he screwed on my recent order he promised I would receive my $300 deposit back. (The subcontracted installer also damaged personal property and did not accomplish anything because they purposely brought the wrong carpet in which I had no choice but to refuse). After all that, still he jerked me around for months!
Craig (the owner), should be a real man. Craig spends tons of time working on his muscles... he should be working on his brain power instead. Don't be a wimp Craig... provide your customers with the service and excellence they deserve. Do not fall back on your promises- however empty they may be. This is how you lose both respect and customers. The court date is set... and is wasting everyone's time... over a measly $300 dollars, which was (and still is) originally promised back to my credit card. The point now is not the money... it's the principle - do what you said you were going to do - and provide the proof. (My credit card company is still charging me and there is nothing I can do about it on my end). Anyone who runs a reputable and decent company, and had a former loyal customer spend thousands of dollars would not stress the situation over $300 dollars. Any company that does to us hard working and fine citizens deserves to go out of business.
If I save one person the aggravation, hassle, and headache in dealing with such an incompetent company, then this is all worth it. Do yourself a favor, don't even waste your time with this company, because that's exactly what it is - a waste. I am a real [former] customer. I can not begin to tell you the headache, the drama, the insult, the inconvenience, and the disrespect that all have ensued over this one company and this one man's incompetence.
