I had heard great things about this store. I was looking to purchase a guitar, and finally had a chance to check it out. I was never greeted, even after playing several different ...

Slightly Dissappointed 5/21/2009

I dropped off my guitar for repair, and it has been three weeks. I called and someone returned my call saying the contract said they would start work on May 15th, my contract said no such thing. I am still waiting to get my guitar back, three weeks and waiting ... more

Disappointing 10/4/2006

I found the sales people rude and arrogant, The guy in the reapir shop was so rude and condescending, he knows nothing about guitar setup of acoustic instruments. He was lecturing me on things he has no idea about. Little did he know I've been in this business for 15 years and he wasn't talking to an idiot. I'd take my business elsewhere more

Dusty Strings 4/11/2006

If you are an acoustic musician, your local Guitar Center may not give you the right kind of romantic feeling. Dusty Strings in downtown Fremont is one of those hidden treasures that just makes you want to play. It's not easy to find parking in Fremont, especially on the weekend. But you'll find that Dusty Strings has an expert staff and a collection of acoustic instruments that are second to none. This place exudes craftsmanship and quality. You'll find guitars to dulcimers, whistles to harps. more

All sorts of stringed instruments and paraphenalia 4/4/2006

This is a great place to check out if you are a guitar player, novice or expert. They have dozens of gorgeous instruments that you can try out and the staff is extremely knowledgeable, laid back, and friendly. They also offer workshops throughout the year for beginners and experienced musicians, with fantastic guests. Dusty Strings also features performances occasionally, so be sure to watch their signs! I think they might have a newsletter too. more

Lessons 1/23/2006

It's just a guess, but I'd imagine if you asked the counter help at Dusty Strings in Fremont they'd know some guitarists willing to instruct. My first lessons were arranged by a guitar shop, so give it a shot. more

Guitar lovers paradise! 10/9/2005

Dustry Strings is an amazing find. The store, located on Fremont and 34th, is filled to the brim with stringed instruments ranging from acoustic guitars to dulcimers and harps and everything in between. You can get all sorts of accessories here as well, including guitar strings, picks, metronomes, tuners, sheet music and cds, and books. They also have several workshops a month with various artists/teachers so there is something for everyone from unexperienced novice to professional. As someone else m entioned in a different review, feel free to stop by and play a few beautiful new guitars! (no zippers!) more

Acoustic music paradise 8/20/2005

If you are an experienced picker, or just someone interested in acoustic music, check out Dusty Springs. The staff in this shop are not only incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, but also super friendly. I was a little hesitant the first time I was in the store, so conditioned by the "don't touch" policies at other places. Dusty Springs encourages you to play the instruments, and really works to make sure you are comfortable. They also offer fantastic workshops. more

Fabulous Music Store 8/20/2005

The thing I love about Dusty Strings is their hands-on poilcy that you can pick up and play just about any of the beautiful instruments that they have for sale as long as you take off any zippers you might have on that could scratch them. They offer great music workshops and the folks that work there are excellent and knowledgeable resources. more
