I had an incident where the maintenance man came into my home while my 12 yr old daughter was bathing. There was a miscommunication on the managers part which gave him permission to enter. My 3yr old was sleeping on the couch, so immediately when the maintenance came in he should've recognized this and announced himself. When my daughter comes out the restroom, he rudely says ""I was knocking"" then proceeds to do the work order. By now he knows no adult is home so he should've exited. He left and returned because he forgot to get a number off the dishwasher. I have gotten an apology from the manager, none from the maintenance, and the unprofessional lady named Christina from Corporate, has called twice but we haven't talked. She left a message saying ""if"" i still needed to talk to someone give her a call back. I don't believe its a big deal to her because when i call she's on the phone and she doesnt call back the same day. This incident happened June 17th and its now the 25th. I think they should just fire everyone and start over with Cynthia. Iv been with this property since 2009 and i have never seen it look so terrible. Dunlap and Magee and their so called representatives are the worst management I have ever encountered. I have lived in one of their newly acquired properties for more than 6 years. I have always paid my rent on the 1st of the month. Never had any problems with anyone. I recently signed a new lease beginning April 1. May 1 I come home to papers on my door indicating a change of ownership, where I was to pay rent, and then another by the way here is your 30 day notice (dated April 29) I received on the 1st of May when they took over. I had to take my rent over 2.2 miles from my apartment and for the first time paid it on the 2nd of the month. I have an advocate checking into this for me. These people do not answer their phone I left numerous messages to no avail. When i went to take the rent over I had to stand outside waiting for an arrogant, rude punk to answer the door for 15 minutes. He was not prepared to give a receipt or sign for receiving the check. There are people who have lived here over 16 years with no problem and they have received 30 day notices.\r \r No warning no indication of the new management. They also had delivered a bunch of papers with new rules and regulations for the place. Rent was increasing $200 per month, there would be a parking fee and a water fee. It is all insane.\r \r I am so sad for all of us who had a nice little apartment to live in a good neighborhood and now in an instant they have torn apart lives.\r \r This apartment is in central Phoenix. more

Discrimination and Criminal Actitivity 10/15/2011

At signing of lease. I was told I had to sign this statement prior to inspecting the apartment , ""The above mentioned apartment was inspected by the tenant and found to be in decent, safe, sanitary and satisfactory condition as indicated by the inspection record below, with the following expections, which are too many and too numerouse to mention. I would have 72 hours to make a list of issues. It has taken me 72 hours to list them all; but not all. I ran out of paper. \r \r I was told about drug and criminal violations of rules and policies repeatedly during the reading of these apartment community rules. The City of Phoenix owns this property and is managed by Dunlap & Magee.\r \r I have been verbally attacked, run into, nearly knocked over by kids on skateboards, threatened by negligent parents, who sit outside their units smoking cigarettes and pot, drinking alcohol, cussing, screaming, and being abusive to children present. They block the sidewalks so you can't get past them to go to the mailboxes; rifled by the kids and tenants. Mail is not safe. My key to the mailbox does not work. \r \r The drug addicts call other tenants crazy and make derogatory and discriminatory remarks. These same people threaten bodily harm and rush to attack you if you if you state you will call the police on them. They state the police will not do anything. Obviously they have experience with that. They openly state they are opportunistic waiting for some excuse to call foul on others and threaten lawsuit/legal action because their kid ran into you on their skateboard. They block open the pool gate with a big rock so they do not have to use their key and leave their children unsupervised in the pool and the scantily glad little girls are out on the sidewalk for any pervert to snatch/pickup.\r \r There is no property management supervision by day and no security by night. Anyone who complains about anything is the target of reprisals. Management is part of the problem. Many residents are elderly and/or disabled. The criminals call disabled and elderly residents crazy to justify and make excuses for their behavior and coverup their criminal activities by threatening the witnesses. Management needs to address and resolve violations of these criminal residents who make life difficult for others who reside here. Children are being subjected to criminal activity and neglected. When will one be taken as they go out on the sidewalk by traffic dressed in no more than bikinis and unsupervised by their parents or perhaps end up drowned in the pool. We need supervision, management, and security. God help us all. more

I have lived at 13610 n, 51 ave at the glenridge apt complex for 5yrs with my wife and child. I've been late on the rent once. I slipped the rent chk in hte provided on the 3rd of july, chk was cashed on the 5th of july and on the 12 of july I recieved a notice that the rent was late. \r I do not believe that it was late and said so to people the apt mgr. here. The person I talked to came to glenridge called me and asked that I come to the office. I did, then she informed me they were not going to apply the late fees. I said thank you and was getting up to leave, at this point she said and BTW we are not going your lease either. Lease ends on Aug 31 2011.\r I then asked why? She pulled out a 10 day notice about disturbing the peace of others back in march, I think, anyway it was months ago. She then asked me to sign a piece of paper signifying that I agreed to this, I rerused. I am talking to a lawyer later today 7-29-2011 all this happened yesterday at approx 3:45p.m.. \r Is this housing discrimination, or against the law ?\r I hope to god it is. I have done nothing but stand up and express what I believe to be true. How can I be refused housing for doing that?\r It is my belief that the apt mgr is annoyed w/me and wants me out.. Before the fair housing act of 1968 landlords could do this to blacks and any other minority they so chose to do it to, or to anyone they just did not like. \r It is my belief that this is what is occuring here, they simply do not like me, and want me gone.\r Fair or not they may be able to accomplish this.\r Absolute power corrupts absolutely.\r Anyone know any good contingency ACLU lawyers. I may need one. more

Unhappy Resident 5/6/2009

I am a current resident who is completely unsatisfied with my decision to move Desert Eagle Estates. I thought this complex would be a great place to live with my family and have found out it is not. The city police make frequent visits due to criminal behavior. I was told that the police will come through to patrol..but I shortly found out that was a lie. The residents her are carefree and do what they want and are unfriendly. I am extremely disappointed. The staff is not that great. One of the staff members who has moved to another complex was a resident here and her vehicle had been broken into twice. The last complaint is the SCORPION problem here. It is an uneasy feeling knowing you could find a scorpion in your home when you have little ones crawling and playing. It is overall not a safe place in or out. When they have the exterminator guy spray it seems to make things worse and they all come out and are all over the place. I am glad my lease will be ending this summer. Cons: Scorpions more

Do not trust Dunlap and Magee. They are in bed with criminals. They walked out on a property management deal in Buckeye, Estrella Vista. They took the leases and monies collected and fled. Jackson Properties is even more guilty of inappropriate business practices. Nicole Lewis and her sidekick Kristie are hiding behind phone sergeants and will not return calls.
