I am from Romania, therefore I was very pleased to find out about Drakula. Their food is authentic and tastes great. The appetizer is similar to what you would find in Romania (ye...

Was that a Romanian restaurant we just passed? I proclaimed as we drove southbound on 183. That's how our Romanian restaurant experience started. We decided to pull in and try i...

Not Disappointed 11/3/2005

A no-nonsense family set up, and a simple menu. I ordered what looked to be the specialty of the house: Samele' with Mamaliga , Musatris asortate and cartofeji (Cabbage rolls, polenta, pickled salad and fries.) The large cabbage rolls were served with sauerkraut and a fresh polenta. Sour cream was offered, and gratefully accepted. The pickled salad seemed homemade and contained mixture of Okra, Tomatoes and Cauliflower, a kind I had never encountered before. The fries were hand cut and tasty as well. The whole shebang ran me $11.00. Pros: Price, Food, Service more

Missing something? 10/20/2005

This may be authentic, and the lunch special is a bargain, but this place just didn't captivate me. The bread was actually delicious - fresh & yeasty. The stuffed cabbage was fine - sauerkraut delightful and polenta a surprising and nice counterpart - but the pork shnitzel was bland, the mici were mysterious and greasy and the sauteed mushrooms were canned, not fresh. Disappointing, but worth exploring. more

Delicious! 10/5/2005

I never had Romanian food before and was pleasantly surprised. I had the stuffed cabbage with polenta, saurekraut, and sausage. It smelled wonderful and tasted even better. The stuffed cabbage was packed with meat without being greasy. The portions were large and filled my plate for a great price of $8. I highly recommend you try it today. Pros: Food, Prices, Service more

Awesome Romanian Food 10/5/2005

I have to say they beat my expectations! I grew up in Romania and finding Romanian fare in this city was a great pleasure! The food is excellent - especially the stuffed bell pepper, the meatball soup and the crepes - just like home!! If you want an authentic experience, you should try Drakula's! more

Worth a drive for the comfortable lunch special 10/2/2005

Recently a coworker and I visited Drakula and we were very pleased. I had the stuffed cabbage while my coworker had the pork schnitzel. Both dishes were simple yet tasty. Worth a drive for the comfortable lunch special at $4.99. I would love to see more visitors to this restaurant. Pros: Large Portions, Value , Food more

Try this place at least once 10/2/2005

I had high hopes for the place to begin with since I am of Hungarian, Polish and Italian decent. There are only a handful of tables which, instead of having salt and pepper shakers, has little tubs of the spices with small, cute wooden scoops used to douse your food. My friend and I decided to share our orders. I ordered the mici (pronounced ""meeshee"" it seems) and my friend ordered the grilled fish in stock. You get a choice of sides with your entree; stewed dry beans, sauteed mushrooms, mashed potatoes or french fries. I got the beans, he got the mushrooms. Will I return? Yes. Actually, sometime this week. Pros: Food, Clean, Authentic Cons: Prices more
