Great car buying experience! 1/24/2011

I am SO glad I did not listen to the reviews listed below! It seems that only the whiners post the reviews. I purchased a used Toyota SUV from these guys and I can tell you, after my years of car buying experience this was one of the best experiences I have ever had. They are completely no pressure - relaxed atmosphere, responsive to questions, and went above and beyond what needed to be done when I had issues with the car - and with a used car, there usually is! They fixed everything and delivered it to me clean and professionally.\r \r I will DEFINITELY buy from these guys again, I couldn't have been happier with my purchase and my experience. more

Avoid doing business with Desert Autoplex 10/23/2009

I purchased a Diesel pusher motor home from Desert Autoplex (A company by the name of Go Green RV sells the motorhomes for Desert Autoplex). If you want to avoid a whole lot of headaches avoid buying from this dealer. I imported this motor home into Canada and had to have a provincial inspection done on the unit. I figured there would be no problems because Desert Autoplex had performed an 82 point inspection and they said all was well. Before buying the unit I checked the dealership out on the BBB and various other places and they seemed to have a good reputation.\r \r It was a very long drive home for me and one problem after another showed up with this motor home that according the Desert was in perfect condition. I wasn't even out of Arizona when I found out my motor home was spitting oil all over the engine because they forgot to put the oil cap on the oil container. Next, I'm sure you can imagine how it feels when you pull into the gas station and you don't have a key to open the gas door. Then further down the road you find out your water pump doesn't work so you can't run water from the sinks or anything, then you get into a rain storm and find out there's no rubber left on your wiper blades plus one of the slides leaks like hell and on top of that I couldn't get the coach to run off it's batteries and it goes on and on. The unfortunate part is that it didn't stop there, when getting my inspection done I found out that there was an electrical problem that caused all the lights to flash when signaling right, practically the whole exhaust system needed to be replaced, there were problems with the positive battery cable on the house batteries which is why nothing would run off battery, the batteries were also no good either. Before leaving the dealership they replaced the windshield and it leaks as well. I was just barly out of Arizona when I figured out that I'd been had.\r \r The list goes on and on, I've spent rougly $4500 for repairing all the major issues and buying parts to fix anything I was able to fix. I talked to the owner of Desert Autoplex and he said they would help me out with these repairs but had to speak with the salesman who is the owner of Go Green RV and would get back to me the next week. The next week came and went without a call. Ever since I've been playing cat and mouse with them and I've finally filed a complaint with the BBB.\r \r Like everyone else that has posted a review here, if you want to save yourself alot of agrivation, steer clear of these 2 dealerships or at the very least ensure you have whatever you are purchasing inspected by a 3rd party or make sure you put a clause in your sales agreement to protect yourself.\r \r One thing I've learned from my experience with this dealership is DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING POSITIVE THAT YOU READ ABOUT A COMPANY, ANYTHING NEGATIVE YOU READ IS USUALLY CORRECT!!!\r \r The only saving grace is with most of the issues repaired, it's a beautiful motorhome. Cons: Misrepresent what they sell more

Is 0 an optional rating, it needs to be. DO NOT BUY FROM DESERT AUTOPLEX 11/22/2008

I bought a vehicle from them as I was relocating to Phoenix. I worked with the salesman and wanted the vehicle, but said I would not purchase it until driving it. I put $500 down and had a written paper saying the deposit was refundable upon me driving the vehicle. Needless to say, I saw the car in person and they had failed to mention the chips and scratches, a screw in one of the tires, a chipped windshield, the rear tires rubbing the shock towers, and who knows what else. I told them immediately I didnt want the vehicle and left but they had claimed it was already mine. I left but days later wanted to know what was going on. I was suckered into thinking it was mine and they took complete advantage of me. They claimed that the paperwork was assuming it ran, which was not true. I tried to work things out with this company without using an attorney but they have refused. I am pressing charges against them and on top of breaking the deal they processed loan documents without our approval.\r \r PLEASE just do not purchase from this company, you will be taken. Don't let their vehicles fool you as i guarantee they are garbage. My guarantee will stand much better than theirs will after reading the above statements. I have never posted negative comments about a company online before but this company will get theirs. The following is for keyword searches so everyone will see these posts when they search for this mom and pop ripoff shop (I am a webmaster lol). \r \r Desert Autoplex at 723 Scottsdale Rd., in Tempe, AZ (Arizona) 8528, rip off, taken, bad business, used cars, desert, autoplex,Phoenix, tempe, craigslist, ebay, online, sales, service, shady, junk, desertautoplex, desertautoplex, BBBonline, case, suit, legal, lawyer, attorney, fraud, Chevy, ford, toyota, gmc, pontiac, mitsubishi, honda, volkswagon, nissan Pros: It is easy to say bad things about this company Cons: Everything more

Rip off artist. Good cover up and con-men. 10/15/2008

I absolutely do not recommend Desert Autoplex in Tempe/Avondale. They claim to sell certified pre-owned vehicle that go through an 82 point inspection. They also have a misleading bumper to bumper warranty poster on their windows and walls. It looks very appealing but it?s an extra purchase for most. My truck was advertised that it came with it so when I purchased my 2004 Silverado I asked the salesman to write this 90 day 4500 mile warranty on my paperwork. I was told to make a list and contact their Tempe store service dept for my repairs. I took my truck into them 7 times in 2 months. I got inspections from 4 alignment shops to prove that the front end needed major repair.\r \r The truck was not certified with the major repairs and concerns involved driveshaft carrier bearing falling apart, front wheel bearings, water pump, brake booster, tie rods, leaking transfer case, emergency brake inoperable, steering shaft, glow plugs inoperable, shock absorbers leaking, shift linkage won?t click into park lock, and much much more.\r They attempted to repair a transfer case leak by smearing sealant on the seems and leaving it dry with no fluid. I ended up taking it to a real transmission shop. I also ended up taking it to the dealer for some of the other repairs. That visit cost me $2,700.00 and that?s not even all of it. \r They tried to put an extended warranty on it two months after my vehicle purchase and it was denied for the time lapse, known pre-existing conditions and no payment was sent in. They are dishonest people not just to you and I but to the people they do business with. I could go on and on but you get the point. They made good cover ups to make the truck look so ?mildly used? They spray painted the under body, pressure washed away all and any leak indicators, drained the transfer case fluid so it wouldn?t leak, installed new tires to hide major front end problems, added more anti-freeze with each service visit so I couldn?t monitor the loss. more

Stereotypical used car dealer 10/12/2007

Bought a vehicle from this company online and thought I had a good deal with a fairly reputable dealer. The whole transaction was smooth, except that the vehicle made a funny noise in the transmission area. They took it to the local Ford dealership where thaey were told it was a major component that needed replacement. They then offered me half the total cost of the repair, which is required by law in Arizona. That was my first mistake, I should have walked away then. I took the deal and three weekds later I received a check, but not before I had to replace the water pump (leaked on the way home), the radiator (leaked after I flushed it for the water pump), the right rear wheel (bent and undrivable above 55 MPH), the windshield wipers were shot, all the tires need replacment (due to bent wheel), front end alignment (after complete rebuild of front end), replacement of tensioner pully, replacement of bad fuel injector (after extensive compresion check) and to top it all off, they didn't even fill my tank up when I drove off the lot (1/2 tank). Total cost of everything over $6,000.00 and nothing I could do except take it on the chin. I will never do business with this company again. Pros: Nice salesman Cons: Shady dealings more
