Dental Center of Florence

I went to DCOF in late March for evaluation--I already had dentures on top-- they were very old and needed to be replaced--I had 3 teeth on the bottom and a partial plate. Needed the teeth extracted and new dentures for top and bottom. One tooth was infected and very painful. I ask about antibiotics and the Dr. said no. Told to come back next week which I did--tooth was still infected. Ask Dr. about antibiotics and she said if I felt I needed it she would write prescription. Had impression made of bottom dentures and told to come back in 1 hour. Left top dentures and told to come back again in 1 hour. Went back to get dentures lady at front desk did not even know me. Told to come back at 3:30 for wax try in.. Was not seen until 4:00--- teeth were too big-- was told the real ones would not look like that. After checking the internet and the BBB-- had a bad feeling about this place. Day before appointment called insurance co. and they said I shouldn't go back --if I had the extractions and dentures then I was stuck---could do nothing. This note is for people who need dentures--if you have never had dentures than you cannot compare-- believe me one size does not fit all. My dentures I have now look like natural teeth-- I would not recommend DCOF for dentures. I saw 4 different dentist in the 2 days I was there. Feels like thye are running an assembly line. more

I have gone here for 10 years now and have had everything from a root canal to whitening and have never had a problem. There are long waits sometimes, but that's to be expected at a place advertising ""Walk ins welcome"" and who doesn't wait when seeing dentists/drs? The dentists are friendly and so are the assistants. The prices are hard to beat. I'm 20 minutes away but it's worth it to me. more

The worse experience of my life too. I had two teeth pulled and a partial made and the dentist came in for all of two minutes and was very rude to me.. I was shocked I have always spent lots of money to keep my appearance up and she said might as well get all your teeth pulled out now and get denture cause you are going to lose them someday. I didn't I only got two pulled but it has bothered me so much that she said that to me. I have had trouble with this partial for months but I will never go near that place again.this is the twentieth century there is lots that can be done to save teeth. I am searching for a reputable and more caring place now. more

I had first appointment at 8:30 AM. Arrived early as I knew paper work would have to be filled out. Got paperwork done before 8:30 & then sat there till 9:00 before being called into office. That is so annoying!! Why do they make appointments if they aren't going to keep them? Then the first thing they wanted to do was sell me a new set of dentures when the ones I have are fine - I only needed a chip on a front tooth fixed. They replaced that tooth for $130.00 tho I am not sure why the old one couldn't have been repaired. One good thing - they completed service in an hour & half after I complained about the three & half hours they first wanted me to wait. more

Went recently to this office for a new denture and it came out great. All the options of what I could get were explained well, and the asistants and the doctor who took care of me were all very nice. Office was pretty busy but i didn't wait taht long. I was nervous about getting worked on because it had been a long time since i'd been to the dentist, but everyone made me comfortable and my new teeth look really nice. Never pleasant to have dental work done, but this was a good experiance and I will go back if i need adjstments or more work in the future. more

I went to the office and everything went very smooth. They have recently redone the office and everything is nice- the waiting room is comfortable - the staff was very courteous. I had my denture made, and it is looks wonderful now. They did explain the differnt options for the denture to me. Basically, if you get a more expensive denture, there is more free stuff included - like adjustments. I got the less expensive one, but they told me how much adjustments would be up front. And it looks good. Going to the dentist is never fun, but they do a good job there. I'll be back. more

I had dentures made at this office. So far I am not happy with them. The appearance is ok, parts of the gums are whiter than others and one tooth looks like it is not placed very securely. but, hey my real teeth weren't perfect so I could live with the imperfections.\r \r Now the real problem is that, even though most of my gums have shrunken from having the majority of my teeth extracted for months / years, the dentures they have made me are so loose they will not stay in place. They put denture adhesive and a temporary liner in them. \r I had expected for there to be some shrinkage in the months to come, from the few remaining extractions that I had. This looseness is more than I expected on the first day/days. I will continue to visit them until this problem is resolved. So far everyone has treated me fairly well, from the front desk to the dentist/s that I have had contact with. \r \r The waits are quiet long regardless of how early or late I arrive.\r \r The decor is nice and the place is very clean\r \r I will say if this problem is not resolved with a free reline, that I will be contacting the Kentucky Board of Dentistry.\r \r That would be my suggestion to all whom have a legit complaint. more

I had a set of dentures made here well over a yr ago. I went many times for temporary relines, which they don't care how much of that gunk runs down your throat. Finally after my 6 months of healing I went for my permanent reline, which I was never told I would need or that is was way over $350. But I had no choice, I paid it. I was thrilled I was finally going to be done with this place. After many many trips and hours of waiting in the waiting room. Just after the reline I have pain, so many trips back for readjustments. How is that when they did an impression of my mouth? They didn't fit. Also the top two front teeth are not centered at all. I go back over and over and still the pain is not relieved. I am now in the process of getting them to reline them AGAIN. I went last week and had a temp reline, and yes pain. they made me an appt for a week later, I went today and they say I owe $43 and they won't see me til I pay it. I asked why wasn't I told last week when I was here? I didn't have the $43 on me. So now I have to make another appt. I don't see myself being happy in the end. I only wear these when I have to go somewhere. After an hour my mouth is killing me. Not just around the edges of the dentures but the roof of my mouth. I was so afraid of getting my teeth pulled, which I had done somewhere else. But that was the easy part. The dentures, the time spent in pain and at this office, the frustration and embarrassment has been a nightmare. When I go in they seem to look at me as a complainer. NO I'm in pain, I can not wear these because they are not right!!! I would suggest if your getting dentures, go somewhere else. I would never recommend dcof to anyone. STILL NOT DONE, STILL IN PAIN, STILL MAD AS HE** Cons: don't care about their patients only their money more

I had a great experience at the dental center of florence. I am petrified of the dentist and am ashamed of how bad i had let my teeth get. I was very nervous about the dentist and was embarrassed by my smile. The doctor put me at ease and never made me feel bad, or worse lecture me about my terrible teeth. I really appreciated this fact b/c i felt self-conscious enough already.\r \r I one day they transformed my smile into one i am proud of. All my friends are glad to se me smiling again. I was still afraid during the extraction but the Valium helped.\r \r I have had to wait as i have been going back for follow-up but not really longer than i wait at any doctor. I would highly reccomend this office. If i had seen them years ago i would still have all my teeth! Pros: price and service Cons: some waiting more

I recently went went to this office and had some teeth extracted and purchased some dentures. Like Irsdbrh said in his post, started of good until you paid the money. I like yourself have probably shopped around Cincinnati and NKY looking for the best deal on extractions and dentures. As you see this place does have reasonable prices compared to a lot of other local places, but is it such a good deal? \r \r Day 1\r \r Go in the office to get a estimate on extractions and dentures. Price was far cheaper the most Dentist in Cincinnati, so I decided to have it done at this office.\r \r Day 2\r \r Extractions done and temporary denture placed in mouth. After getting 20 teeth pulled and sitting in a office for about an hour, I am rushed out the door with with my temporary denture bleeding with a cloth gauge inserted in my mouth and pamphlet explaining what to expect.\r \r Day After\r \r Look in the mirror and see that the gum color on the top denture is different then my real gums on the bottom. Also the denture itself was badly misaligned with my natural teeth.\r \r Follow Up Appointment\r \r Pointed out the things mentioned in earlier post and was told there is nothing they could do about misaligned denture. Then I asked about gum color and how it did not match my natural gums. I was told this by an assistant "" we only have white people color gums and black people color gums."" Then they rushed me out the door and I went home with nothing done or fixed.\r \r Temporary adjustments\r \r Which I might add that they have no set appointments. They tell you to come from 10 to 2pm. Then you go up there with a packed house waiting in line to see the dentist. I had 4 temporary adjustments and I had 4 different smiles. Meaning gaps in between my bite, overbite, loose fitting dentures, and one time my upper lip was so puffed out I looked like a monkey. So I had to have it redone and wait in line all over again!\r \r Permanent upper dentures \r \r Six months has past and I haven't been able to talk the same as I originally did, but it was time for my permanent denture. This time I had an appointment yay!\r I went in got them fitted and was sent on my way. Before leaving I took the dentures out to look at them and see how they was made. I turned them over and guess what? Crooked dentures! The front part where it wraps around to make your smile was badly misaligned. I asked what could be done about that and yes you guessed it, I was told that there is nothing that can be done now. By this time I was so frustrated I stormed out the door!\r \r Last and not least \r \r Billing\r \r I was told after the extractions and upper dentures was placed I had to make out a check, but the catch was they said don't fill it out we have a machine the electronically transmits what we charge after they scan the check. I was curious how they did that so I checked my bill and matched it up with my charges. Guess what? Overcharged! I was double charge on a few things adding up to close to $200. After I already paid almost 2600 dollars for extractions and upper dentures. I pointed it out and showed them and they did give me credit, but my point is how many other people might they have done this too?\r \r Overall experience\r \r Terrible! It was one of the worse experiences in my life. After getting the permanents I had to go back several times for multiple issues with them. I still to this day do not speak clearly. I am not going to tell you to pick these people or not, I am just telling you the experience I have had over the last year with this office. I went to the DCOF as a walk in having extreme pain from a couple of bad teeth. Luckily, they were able to take me in and I only had a short wait. I had two teeth extracted and felt no pain, only a little during the numbing process. The dentist and assistant were very friendly and caring about my extreme pain. They always asked if I was comfortable and if I felt any pain. One tooth took a little longer to remove and I was even asked if I needed a break as it was taking a long time. This staff is wonderful and I will continue to see them. Thank you DCOF for a pain free night of sleep in a long time! Pros: Convenient location, professional staff Cons: none that I know of more

I, along with my three children, moved from Florida to here a year ago and contacted Florence Dental Center for checkups. They are very friendly and all the doctors and staff members are awesome! It has always been a good experience and I don't even mind going to the dentist anymore and neither do my children. Exceptional service, friendly doctors and staff members. Thanks to them for all of their great work. Pros: Awesome staff and service from the moment you walk in the door until you walk out! more

I went to the dental center of florence with my daughter - who is 13 years old. We both saw Dr Laws - he was very nice and my daughter really liked him. Luckily, she didn't have any cavities. I got my teeth whitened - they look so much better now - I wish I'd have done it a long time ago. \r \r Our family will continue to go to this office - everyone was so nice to us. \r Pros: Very nice people. more

I liked the dentist that I saw. She was very nice. They charged less than my last dentist. She did a good job. I will keep going to this office. Pros: Got in and out fast. Good Price. Cons: can't think of any more

The Dental Center of Florence has great dentists. They were very nice. I shopped around for price and found them to be among the lowest. They gave several options for my treatment and my budget. I am very happy with the work they did and will definitely go back. They did not try and sell me something I didn't need. They are extremely easy to get to - immediately off of I-75. Pros: Great prices - High Quality - Very Friendly & Fair Cons: Not always open on weekends. more

i was really surprised to read the bad reviews.i have nothing bad to say about dental center of florence. i have nothing but good experiences with them. when i had my teeth extracted the assitant was so great she held my hand and really helped me though a very agonizing experience. after that the dentist was very concerened not only about the fit of my dentures but weather i was happy or not with the apperence of them. of course they will not fit perfect at first and they tell you that . i takes about six months for the swelling to go down. your alternative to that one time reline is to go without teeth for six months and that is made clear up front also. however they remade my whole set over with no cost to me because the doctor didn't feel they did me justice. they also went way over the call of duty after i had them for a year to make me happy with them at no additional cost. my father was the one who recomend them to me, after he got his dentures there. his were perfect from the start. he never had to have one adjustment and they look great. and mine look great. thanks dental ceter of florence. ps the prices are also great Pros: price, concern with your approval more

As a patient at the Dental Center of Flroence for the past 5 1/2 years, I have had nothing but great experiences! All of the staff is soooooo friendly and caring. They never seem to judge me, or lecture me. They ask me questions about my life and my family.\r I have never been to any other office that seems to have more fun working either. Everyone that works there get along with each other, and help each other when needed.\r As far as waiting time, yeah sometimes there is a long wait, but not all of the time. They don't turn anyone away, they want to help everyone that needs help. The wait is totally worth it!!!!!!!!!!!! more

I went to the Dental Center for the first time today. I immediately felt at ease with the modern, but not overdone, furnishings. I am not a fan of dental offices, yet this one was very comfortable. The receptionist was extremely courteous, listened and explained things very well. We are talking 8 am on Tue morning and she had a smile and cheerful disposition. \r After filling out the paperwork (name, address and other personal details) I waited to be called to an exam room. The wait seemed a tad long but what is to be expected with no appointment. When I was taken to an exam room, the dental technician was very pleasant and attentive. She listened to what I would like to have done, made notes, took an X-ray and the various other chart creation required. Very talkative, courteous and friendly. Made me feel very at ease. I noted that all of the staff referred to patients by the first name. Again, somewhat relaxing and continued taking the edges off.\r \r The Dr. came in and did an exam. Very nice individual. She reviewed my wishes and suggested a very acceptable alternative plan to my wishes. Once we agreed, the Dr. proceeded with execution of the plan (extraction of 6 front teeth) while continuously inquiring about my comfort. \r \r After completion of the work, it was explained what my restrictions were and how to care for my mouth. They provided me with a plan to complete some rather extensive work to provide dentures for me. \r \r Will I return? ABSOLUTELY!! Pros: Comfortable waiting area, friendly staff, first name basis with me. Cons: Really didn't experience any. more

I've only had a couple of visits to the Dental center. The service was fast and very friendly. It was very easy to find the office off the exit. From my experience, the staff was like a big family and included me with first name basis and smiles. I recommend this place to all my friends and family!!
