AWFUL AWFUL, Still in shock! Is zero stars not an option? Wow. This was honestly the WORST customer service situation I have ever encountered in my life and I am still in disbelief about how I was just spoken to at Dave's Shoe Repair. I brought in my shoes to repair ONE small button on a strap...that is all, on May 27. I was told it would cost $37. Yes, $37 for ONE button! I was in shock but paid the money and definitely shouldn't have! I was told the shoes would be ready on Tuesday. So, when Tuesday rolled around I left work to make a special trip to pick up the shoes that were promised to be ready on Tuesday. When I got there, he didn't have any record of my name or shoes and then said that they weren't ready. I said, ""But you told me to pick them up on Tuesday?"" and he said, ""What day is it today?"" I couldn't believe my ears! He said they would be ready in a half hour but I didn't have a half hour to wait. I came back 2 days later to get the shoes and when he brought them out, he had ripped off the button that was already attached on the one shoe and replaced both shoes with HUGE buttons that looked nothing like the ones that the shoes came with and were not the right color. I tried to be nice and asked for a partial refund just due to the shoes not being ready on time and I had to make a special trip. He literally laughed in my face and said absolutely not. I asked if he normally promised pick up times and then didn't have them ready. He claimed that he never has anything ready until the late afternoon and that I came in the morning on Tuesday to get my shoes. I did NOT come in the morning at all! After I asked why he didn't offer a refund and was talking to me with such bad customer service, he said ""So sue me!"" I was so shocked that I said ""What?"" and he said, ""So sue me!"" At this point, I thought I was in a dream, was this really happening? He continued to tell me that my shoes were ""ratty"" when I brought them in and that he worked a ""long time"" on fixing them. (Note: Remember above when he said that it would only take a half hour to fix?) Not to mention, I'm not sure how size 5 Steve Madden heels that I've had for one year and wear maybe 3 times a month to work can look ""ratty"". But more importantly, who talks to customers that way?! You are a shoe repair store so probably ALL of the shoes are ratty, that's why people bring them in! WOW. This man was the most disrespectful person I have ever encountered. He wears a funky hat, has many missing teeth, and is old. I have no idea if he is actually ""Dave"" or not but it doesn't matter. The public should really know about how awful this experience was so they don't have to experience it themselves. In this time and in this economy, the consumers have millions of choices in every area. Bad customer service and unkept promises simply do not have to be tolerated and businesses like this one that practice this type of service will soon go under. I know many people and am apart of various social networks so I will definitely spread the word about this as much as I can.
