Rayna does the best extensions!!! 7/22/2011

I had the most wonderful experience at Cutlers! I was prepping for my wedding last summer and needed some extensions for myself, and hair done for 2 of my girls. This salon was very patient with us and were extremely kind. The service was excellent! Now about Rayna, I could not have had a better hairstylist!! Rayna really took in my personal features, listened to what I wanted and made me look like a princess on my wedding day! She came to my apartment with the makeup artist and we had a blast as she did our hair followed by makeup. She made me feel gorgeous and so calm on my wedding day because I knew I was in good hands. Thank you Rayna! Your skills and personality are exquisite. You're the best! more

Hilly Gorelick 2/7/2011

I have been going to Hilly for 6 years now and I haven't trusted anyone else with my hair since that first cut. Working as a model in NY, I always felt like I could book that big job after a visit with Hilly. I stopped modeling in 2006 to launch a food brand called FEED Foods but I never changed hairstylists. Hilly is a professional and listens to what you want and then creates a masterpiece. On a recent visit with Hilly, he suggested I change it up a little bit and add some length. Hilly Gorelick - Incredible Stylist/Hair Cuts 2/1/2011

Hilly is just amazing. He is an artist at his craft. I have had my hair cut by him several times and never once do i leave anything but THRILLED and HAPPY!!!! His listening skills, which any great stylist needs, are unparalleled. His cutting skills are exact and perfect every single time. I have had my hair cut by him at important times in my life: right before a job interview or going on stage, and every time I leave his chair with the confidence that my hair looks dope, my hair is healthier and my style is exactly how i envisioned it to be. RUN don't WALK to Hilly's brand new chair at Cutlers in SOHO, a very easy place to get to via train or cab and it's a cozy place with a cool atmosphere.... more

Hilly is an artist! 2/1/2011

Hilly does something truly unique that most people in this city and industry don't do...he listens. Hilly's attentive listening, teamed with his stylish eye for detail allow for me to get a true consultation prior to each cut. His innate ability to sense what will look good on me and will be manageable for me from a styling perspective, allow me to consistently be pleased with the end result. Hilly has the special talent of being able to get me out of my comfort zone and try new things, while still accommodating my desire to keep my hair long. He takes into consideration that I need to have a professional appearance, but still manages to give me a fashion forward edge. I leave every cut from Hilly, feeling glamorous and perfectly polished. more

Hilly Rocks 2/1/2011

I am a working model in NYC with Wilhelmina Models and as you can imagine my hair plays a very important part in my career. Anyway I got my haircut with Hilly. He was very professional and paid attention to detail. which is so very important to me. He listened to what I wanted and did exactly that. I was so pleased with the the cut, and am happy to say that I booked some big jobs since then. I think I have found my future hairstylist. I strongly recommend Him. The hair cut was Awesome!! more

Ruined my Color 10/27/2010

Don't normally post on these sights but I was so royally P'd off with the results from my hair color that I had to share. By the time I left I had every color in the rainbow and dry, brittle hair, not to mention I had to pay more $$$$ to get it corrected and its still not looking so hot. Not sure what all the rave is about, pretty disappointing to say the least. more

RACHEL BODT IS INCREDIBLE!!! 6/12/2010

I have been getting my hair colored for years, and finding a consistent colorist has been a big challenge for me. My first two attempts at cutler failed, but for some reason i didn't give up. Finally Rachel Bodt was recommended to me, and my quest is now over. I can truly say that Rachel is an extremely talented colorist and a lovely human being. On top of getting my hair colored beautifully each and every time, I am also treated with great care and professionalism. She is a gem! I have been going to Cutler for years now...Rachel is the best colorist I have ever been to. She keeps my blond hair looking natural. She listens to what I want and offers great suggestions to really make my color pop! I would never go to anyone else...and I suggest her to all of my friends. She is so personable and always keeps her attention on her clients. She wants you to be happy with your hair color, and always does it perfectly. People constantly compliment me on my hair color and say that it looks so natural. Some are shocked when I tell them it's highlighted. That is how amazing she is! They have great prices and always perform up to par. Best Color in NYC! Ask for Rachel, it will change your life! 2/23/2010

I'm super particular about my color and have tried salons all over the city including Ted Gibson, Frederic Fekkai and Robert Stuart. Honestly, none of these salons even compare to Cutler. If you want the best color in the city, I highly recommend Rachel Bodt, at Cutler's SoHo location, hands down. She's AWESOME, really listens to what you want and super sweet! Overall Great Salon Experience 2/23/2010

I've been going to Cutler since 2008 when Rachel Bodt started coloring my hair and am so happy with the service. She is very talented and I have always walked out looking (and feeling) like a blonde bombshell. Women frequently ask who does my hair so they could get the same color and I would definitely recommend her, the girl knows what she's doing. The salon itself also has a great friendly atmosphere and everyone who works there is warm and helpful. Five Stars. Downtown in SoHo.. get your hair done and then do some shopping! Fantastic hair salon 2/23/2010

I have been going to Cutler for years and seeing one of the colorists, Rachel Bodt. She is absolutely amazing!!! She keeps my blonde hair looking natural and healthy and I always get compliments on it. Since I have curly hair, its really hard to find colorists who are able to show the dimension of my curls and also keep it from drying out. She always listens to what I have to say and what I want, but also recommends things that I should do, as well as products I should use. All of my friends go to her and they all love her, I will never ever go to anyone else!! Try her out!!! Pros: Great colorists, great stylists, very friendly staff more

Great Salon, Great Service 8/10/2009

I answered a CL advertisement for a hair model and received a response from Rebecca who is new to Cutler Salon looking for models. I went for a highlight and it came out amazing. So many places I have gone to have charged me tons of money and was not satisfied. Rebecca did not disappoint. She did a half head highlight with different colors and took the time to get the color as close to the root as possibly which the majority of the salons I have been to DONT do. Come in looking rich 5/4/2009

I came in early for an appt, but still didn't get started until 25 Minutes later. The hair colorist, I believe his name is Alex, very rude and arrogant. He gets mad when you don't know the answer to his question regarding last time u dyed ur hair. He doesn't create much conversation unless you look the type,as in rich. No one really offered me anything either n it goes back to theory of looking the look. This place is averqge. Not all that. more

For Color, Joe is the best! 2/13/2009

I followed Joe from Bumble & Bumble, because he is soooo terrific at color. It always looks amazing, and when people find out it isn't natural they're amazed. B&B is a much nicer salon & ambience, but I can deal with Cutler's shab for a colorist like Joe. Pros: Amazingly Skilled Colorist Named Joe M. I agree, go to ELISHA for color! 1/13/2009

I found Cutler through citysearch a few years ago, and was randomly paired with Elisha. She gave me baby fine, very natural looking blonde highlights, that grow out very subtly. I love my hair, and have never gotten so many complements, and still will only go to her. She's the best, use her! Pros: Highlights are affordable compared to other salons Cons: Hair cuts are too pricey for me. more

Elisha is a miracle-worker colorist! 12/19/2008

I have been to a number of salons in NYC, and ended up going to Cutler Soho a few years ago on the recommendation of someone at Redken. I had the absolute fortune of getting Elisha as my colorist, who has solved so many issues with my hair that no one else has quite figured out. Friendly and professional, she is skilled at figuring out what will work best for your hair color as well as its texture and your skin tone, and has made miracles out of messes that I've gotten myself into when I've strayed to other salons. Pros: Friendly vibe, talented colorists and cutters, great products, reasonably priced. more

Let's talk about Mila!!! 9/20/2008

I read a few reviews about Mila on this site. I have been to at least three ""high end"" salons in New York to get the blond I wanted but had never achieved the results I was looking for. After a friend had recommended her I decided it was fate. Not only is Mila the sweetest most patient girl ever, she genuinely listened to everything I had to say and followed through. She has an amazing eye for color and is such a gem. Not to mention she charges about half as much as the ""best in town."" If you want to feel like Heidi talk to Mila in SoHo!!!!!
