What an amazing night for Lori’s Bday! Hats off to Kevin, Chef Paul, Megan and all the staff that took such great care of us. All in attendance were blown away by the entire event...

Worst

Cullen's was our New Year's Eve destination, having searched for restaurants that would be open for the evening. We were happy that Cullen's was also located on our side of town...

We went for a weekday business lunch. The server was very attentive and the food was cooked to order. We both had burgers and fries... the fries were outstanding!\r more

I wanted to thank you for organizing our event last Sunday. All of the staff at Cullen's were wonderful and the food was excellent. The evening was as close to perfect as you can get. Our students, faculty and parents all had a memorable evening and requested that we have our annual awards banquet at Cullen's again next year. Several of the parents that had never been to Cullen's mentioned that they would definitely be going back to try different menu items. Please extend our sincere appreciation to everyone that helped make our event a success.\r more

Wanted to relate that all of the arrangements were very satisfactory and the entire group had a great time. They were outspoken about the positive experience and delicious food (greatest compliments to the chef's) at Cullen's. Our server Oscar was exceptionally informative, helpful and attentive - he did a great job. Thanks again for all of your support in helping us to have this very positive experience.\r more

My wife and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary with you guys this past Thursday evening. It was our first time to visit your restaurant and our server Todd did a fantastic job. He gave us a quick tour after our meal and I’m really impressed with your facility. The food was awesome and we definitely plan to return. Thanks! more

Miniscule portions, at laughingly high prices. Good bar, and a beautiful building, but that's about it. more

The Board of Directors of the Pasadena Bar Association wish to express our gratitude and appreciation for providing us with a great forum for the Judicial Candidates Mixer. The candidates continued to express what a wonderful facility Cullen's provided. Hopefully, some of them will return to eat at your establishment. My wife heard several say they could not wait to come back and eat. Thanks again for all your help and assistance. We had about 80 candidates and members in attendance.\r more

I spoke with Barb Wirth, the manager for Satellite Logistics and went over her party on Saturday. The feedback on the party itself was very good!!!! She said out of all the parties they have ever had, that this was by far the best and most fun. All of the employees are still raving about it. They never repeat a venue but want to come back again next year because it was so good.\r more

I was contacted by Dreux via email regarding an ""every 4th Monday Night Showcase"" to be held at Cullen's.I asked about compensation, and was told that there was no compensation. He basically told me that I the Artist, would pay him $25 to perform on their stage that ""holds up to 600 people"" He began to inform me that this said group of people would house Music Industry Professionals...etc, etc. On the flyer that was attached to the email, was a photo of ""Dreux"", and the advertisement for the showcase...which by the way was displaying a cover charge of $7. I inquired as to why he was charging a $7 cover fee, and charging the Artist a $25 performance fee (basically, it makes no sense to charge at the door, and NOT pay your Artist) This was response back to me: Erica, I don't know which flyer you have or what part is confusing to you. There is a $7 dollar cover charge at the door for NON-PERFORMERS and bands ARE CHARGED $25 ARTIST PERFORMANCE FEE TO PERFORM ON STAGE. PERFORMING ARTISTS PAY $25 ONLY NOT IN ADDITION TO THEN $7 COVER CHARGE. THE $7 COVER CHARGE IS FOR NON-PERFORMERS ONLY!!!!!!!!!.... PERFORMING ARTISTS PAY $25 PERFORMANCE FEE ONLY!!!! THE FLYER DOESN'T MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT ARTIST PAYING $25 FOR THE PERFORMANCE FEE BECAUSE IT'S THE GENERAL FLYER. HOPE THAT HELPS YOU! As you can clearly see, this is quite rude! When I contacted Cullen's to speak to a Manager..I got a gentleman by the name of Jonathan. Jonathan was clueless as to this showcase even happening at his establishment, and acted like he didn't even know whom this ""Dreux"" individual was. He asked me to forward him a copy of the email, he would review it, and have his superior contact me back. Yea right. I have yet to hear from Jonathan about his rude employee, who is btw, a representative of his establishment. I and many other working Musicians have NEVER paid to play anywhere...and if you're going to charge a fee at the door for ""non-performers"", then surely you can compensate your Artists!! This is a slap in the face to the entire Music Community, and something needs to be done about it!!! This employee needs to be dealt with, as he seems to be running a scam right under their noses...unless of course they're all involved! I will make sure that I continue to spread the word about how horribly unprofessional, not to mention unfair, these folks are to the Music Community!!! I'm glad I never played there...it would be a complete waste of my time, and my band's time!!!!!! more

Was a valentine nite of party of 6. Worse service you can imagine. We had to flag waitress down for our drinks, received our fish raw. The manager responded quick and replaced it the a moment later brought out some wine and apologized. When it was time for our desert it took 40 minutes to receive it we all asked for it to go. Never seen our waitress maybe twice. We all had to flag down staff as they ran by. When we received the tab they charged us for the wine that they sent our table that we DID NOT ASK FOR! we did not want to complain but as we all were leaving may I say our tab was $800.00, I ran into the manager. He also was rude! The easy word was to say sorry about the experience but we couldn't get that outta him.I just felt like the other wait staff should share the gratuity with the M I A waitress we had since they had to serve us. The waitress had a party of 6 she had her gratuity in her pocket which was about $100.00. The food was good but the service was horrible and embarrassing for me that I invited the two couples and to have that experience. Never again will I recommend or return to Cullen's. more

Went for brunch this past Sunday with a party of 12. Ordered simple brunch dishes; took over an hour and half to get our food and it was mediocre at best. Waiter did a good job trying to keep peace with everyone, but I will never spend another dime in that place. If they were competing on Food Network's Chopped, they would have been eliminated in the first round! more

Mother's Day Buffet Disaster 5/16/2012

About three weeks before Mother's Day, I made 2:00 p.m. reservations for five people for a Mother’s Day buffet at Cullen’s. The place was packed while we were there. At $49.95 per person, plus a gratuity added to our bill, I am sure Cullen's had a very good day financially. Cost of the meal and tip would not have been an issue if the food had been the quality I have come to expect from Cullen's. But it wasn't. My issues with this meal are stated below: The crab legs were salty and most of the meat could not be removed from the shell. The shrimp was previously frozen and very soggy. Why would an upscale restaurant not serve fresh shrimp? There were two wilted salads to pick from, both on small platters. The second time I went to the main food table, there was a different (small) platter of tomato slices with mozzarella cheese. Why weren't several different salads offered all at the same time? There were very few dishes to choose from. Of those few, the dishes were either empty or crusted with food (tortellini) that nobody wanted. I got up from my table twice and both times found both the garlic (where was the garlic?) mashed potatoes and the chicken w/grits dishes empty, with none of the servers around to replace with more food. There was only one vegetable offered, a squash mixture. The cuts of roast beef that were offered were small. The same for the salmon. The first piece of salmon offered by the server was the size of one of my fingers. I asked for more and it was still a small amount. I just gave up. The ham was so bad, it was not edible. It wasn't even a spiral ham. You can get better ham at IHOPs for breakfast! There were no rolls or butter. A few pieces of hard sliced french bread was near the salads. The line was long for desserts. The fruit tart was the only one worth eating. As I went through the line, I noticed about ten tarts left on the tray, with room for many more. A young lady brought out more to replace those already taken and was told by a worker to take them bake to the kitchen instead of putting them out. What was that about?! More for the staff??? All of this made me feel like the staff was told to be very frugal with the food if they wanted leftovers to indulge in later after the buffet was over. It was unbelievable! One lady was behind me on my second visit to the buffet and was also disappointed that there was no chicken and grits. She said she had been trying to get some but never was able to. I want to know what was going on. You should be ashamed of yourselves for charging $49.95 per person and not delivering what was promised. According to the person who took my reservations it would be a very ""memorable"" day. Well, it was definitely memorable. It will stay in my memory for a long, long time. This wasn't our first time at Cullen's. We have had lunch and dinner there many times. My husband has taken his office staff there for Christmas parties on a couple of occasions. We have always enjoyed the food and service and had no reason to think Mother's Day would be any different. I didn't say a lot about these issues on Sunday, but did mention to our waiter that they needed to have more of a variety of foods. He said that Cullen's was still a young restaurant and still working things out. If this restaurant had just opened a few months ago, I would agree. But Cullen's has been around many years. How can a restaurant get rave reviews for recreating a Titantic meal, but can't get it together for a Mother's Day buffet? Hopefully, someone will be able to figure it out.
