Just like Yiayia used to make 9/1/2006

The Continental is a great family-run Seattle institution. They have all the standard dishes one would typically expect from a Greek restaurant, and they are all up to snuff. A great place to go for lunch if you are in the U-District (especially if you have a little time to leisurely enjoy some baklava and Greek coffee after your meal) or even better to go with your family for dinner. They also have a selection of Greek wine and groceries for those who want to bring something home. more

delicious! 7/15/2006

my friends and i always come to this place. it's so delicious! the service is always wonderful, and the ambience really does make me feel like i'm in some cafe in greece. the salads, entrees, and wines are great, but their desserts strike people as odd and maybe evne anti climatic until they realize that it's also a bakery. nevertheless, i always go there whenever i'm up in the university district.. and even when i'm not, i make the 20 mile drive to eat at this place! Pros: great food, service, value Cons: street parking, crowded during 'student hours' more

Great food Great prices 10/12/2005

This is a great restaurant if you are more concerned about taste and value than ambience. There is nothing wrong with the facility, it is just simple and that is fine because the food is great. I had gyro's and they were some of the best around. Pros: Taste, Value more

Our Favorite Breakfast in Seattle 4/5/2005

They serve a pesto, feta, and tomato omlette that just blows my mind. My wife gets a grilled feta sandwich that's also out of this world. We go with such regularity that our usual waitress need only make eye contact with us before placing our order and bringing out the coffee (which ranks among the best diner coffee I've ever had). Two can't-miss sure-fire dishes plus outstanding service means we go back again and again, and so should you. Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Great Value more

everyone loves helen and dimitri 3/19/2005

the owners are as sweet as can be, wonderful with children and always warm to both regulars and new comers. even better, the kitchen is delightfully consistent--i've never had a bad breakfast here and the bacon is always perfectly crisp and even. one the city's best kept secrets. more

Absolutely Mouth-Watering!!!! 7/6/2004

My favorite Greek restaurant far and away. The owners are always there and incredibly friendly. Don't miss the souvlakia! I can't recommend it highly enough. It fed me through college when I often dined with one friend, we've celebrated birthdays and events there, and now we take our children there. Pros: Delicious more

European Flair 10/7/2003

The Continentals great food, service and international atmosphere make it a real find. I especially like the foreign language conversation groups that meet here every week: German on Tuesday, French on Wednesday and Spanish on Thursday nights. Its a unique little bit of Europe in the U District. Pros: great greek food, inexpensive, atmosphere more

Wonderful Experience 5/21/2003

The Continental represents exactly what a neighborhood resturant should be. The owners are extremely friendly, the service is phenomenal, and the food is wonderful. I highly recommend that everyone in the neighborhood get to know the Lagos family and if they do, I'm sure that they will frequent the resturant often. more

A Family-Owned and Operated Greek Diner with Local Charm and Satisfying Mediterranean Fare

Owner Message
  • The Continental Pastry Shop and Greek Restaurant is known for the dishes we serve and the pastries baked on the premises. Almond baklava, walnut baklava, kataifi, galactoboureko and revani are all made on a daily basis. During the holiday season, George comes in early to bake specialty pastries and breads to be featured for a limited time in our Seattle diner. George insists that only top quality ingredients are used for his pastries and grinds his own almonds to achieve the consistency he demands to make the perfect Revani or Copenhagen.

The Continental Pastry Shop is open every day and offers a blend of continental and Greek food. The Lagoses offer catering services for any size gathering or event and have the largest selection of Greek wines in the Pacific Northwest to accompany any menu. The Continental Pastry Shop also has Greek groceries, such as Greek cheeses and wines.
