I LOVE Plantation! I'm sorry that the person below me had such a bad experience, I've never had anything but good outcomes with them (and I promise, I don't work there!). I will admit, they are a little pricey - I go to the base for our dogs' annual check-ups - but when I need to get one of my pups in for an exam immediately, I can usually get an appointment within a couple of hours. One of my dogs has been treated for a tooth infection, as well as allergies, and they have been super helpful, gentle through the whole process, and just very nice people. In fact, the last time I went I brought my 5-month-old, and one of the staff members waited with the baby and my dog at the car while I settled up our bill! I recommend them to all my friends in Fleming Island. more

Never again!!! 8/21/2012

I just want to start with, I think all previous posts about how great this place is has to be from one of the employee's or maybe with different owners. I boarded my dog here for a couple nights and thinking since it was an animal hospital, someone would be there everyday to take care of her. Well, I was VERY wrong. First off they gave her a vaccine and didn't call and inform me that they were giving it to her, granted she needed it to be there but what about calling and telling me you were giving the 3 year and not just a year?! And they did a rectal exam, and left their mess on her fur, so she sat with that for four days...you would think they would take care of that right?!! When I picked her up she was a disaster and smelled disgusting. They stated that she had peed on her self over the night and didn't have time to give her a bath, we were there at 7 am when they opened...only after we had been there once that morning because we were told we could pick her up anytime after 4am...n more

I just want to start with, I think all previous posts about how great this place is has to be from one of the employee's or something. I boarded my dog here for a couple nights and thinking since it was an animal hospital, someone would be there everyday to take care of her. Well, I was VERY wrong. After I take her outside I couldn't believe what had just happened how could anybody who cared about animals let one be left in such poor condition?! There is no way that the pee was there from one night, her skin was extremely agitated and it took three baths just to get her to not smell like a dumpster. My other concern is the fact that she did pee herself, she is not a puppy and has never had an accident and if they let her out the 6 times a day plus the 2 times for an hour each in the play park this would never had happened... she is well trained and I have never had an issue. All I can say is that I am so upset with her care an the workers who brought her to me didn't even have the decency to apologize for this condition, and I know they could not only see it but smell it... If you would like your dog to be cared for while you are away, I would not recommend this place... more

I love this place; I don't trust anyone else with my dog 2/4/2012

When I moved from Atlanta, I needed a vet to perform an annual exam on my dog. During a routine checkup, the vets at Plantation Animal Hospital found and successfully treated cancer in my dog after it have been overlooked by another vet in Atlanta. The treatment required a surgery to remove and test a lump that had developed on his back (the previous vet thought it was a cyst). Every member of the staff was kind, professional and thoughtful, delivering speedy and skilled treatment. They personalized my dog's care (allowing him to keep a small stuffed toy with him while he came out of the anesthesia), and soothed my family's stress and worry by answering every question (sometimes twice). The staff was available for phone calls regarding pain management through his recovery and called several times to check up on his process. In addition to expertly treating cancer in my dog, Plantation Animal Hospital offers some of the cleanest, friendliest facilities I have seen. We are lucky to have Plantation Animal Hospital in our lives. more

A warm, loving place for your pet! 5/2/2008

I was recommended to Plantation Animal Hospital when I adopted my husky, Mitok, from the South Florida Siberian Husky Rescue Group in Ft. Lauderdale.\r \r The staff was warm and friendly, and very loving as Mitok was a rescue dog and a little worried about new places and new people. They got down on the floor with him and reassured him the whole time, he was very comfortable!\r \r Then when I went on vacation and had to board him for the week, I was so worried he would regress back, as he didn't like being left. Oh he had a great time with the other dogs at their playpark! He was well taken care of in my absence and I highly recommend them! more
