We had a great experience with our dog there. He got into a little scrap with one of the neighbor's dogs, and we didn't know where to go. They were open on the weekend, and they...

Worst

I have been going to Companion Pet Clinic for many years and think they find reasons to overcharge. \r For example, in February of this year, 08, my dog went in for a infection o...

Great Clinic 6/28/2008

I found the vet at this clinic to be very caring and the staff to be nice and considerate. this was my second visit and all were very helpful. The clinic was clean and I really like the no appointment method. Pros: No appointment needed more

good quality care-and fair 6/9/2008

this clinic is a little on the slow side to get in and out, but the quality of the care is excellent, and there are no more fair priced vets like this around. A basic visit to see a doctor is less than $30, and the medicines are reasonable too. I would highly recommend them for vet service, and with 8 cats, price and quality are the two number one concerns for me. more

A Great Place For Special Treatment And Care For Your Pets 4/23/2008

I have been going to Companion Pet Clinic for as long as I can remember. They treat my Pom-Princess and cat Bruiser like little children would treated at the pediatrician's, like there the most special animals in the world. Dr.Gary Powers is my favorite. Is very gentle with my 4 pound Pom and spends alot of time with her. He even takes the time to call me with her results, and not just 2 minute phone call, about 20 mins. of his time or more. Even the girls out front are friendly and helpful. The wait is long sometimes, but you must remember, your going to get the same amount of time and treatment when your turn comes. The prices are very cheap. I use to go to Stark St. Animal Clinic, they where outrageous in prices and surgery cost. I would go no where else and always recommend this place. I would lost and scared for my pet without this Vet office. more

Bad customer service 4/21/2008

I had an unfortunate experience with this clinic. They started a new policy to charge customers fees if they use an internet pharmacy for their animals' prescriptions. They claim it is to deter people from using anything other than their own pharmacy, which they claim will guarantee quality medicine. It also guarantees people have to pay much higher prices than the internet pharmacies require. In my case, they did not inform me of the policy until after I completed all their required testing and ordered online. Then I got a call that they were sorry they forgot to tell me - but a charge would be on my account the next time I came in. Since I was not told of this ahead of time, I requested the fees to be waived this time only. They refused. I even spoke to Dr. Connolly who would not budge on their policy. I find this practice appalling and reeking of money grabbing. I take my pet's care seriously, and am taking my business elsewhere. more

Compasion at its finest 11/3/2007

We have only gone to the Companion Pet Clinic since 2007, but I have to say that the doctors are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and caring. Our cat developed an illness that we were unsure of at the time what it was, if it was treatable, or anything else about it for that matter. The doctor came in an examined out kitty and said he was pretty sure he knew what it was but wanted to run a test first and did so. He was able to explain everything to us about the disease, treatment, life expectancy, etc. He was never unsure of himself or his diagnosis. Once the time came to have our kitty put down the doctor was very compassionate, took his time, even talked to us a few minutes afterwards and let us stay in the room as long as we needed before going into the lobby. I would recommend this vet clinic to anyone who does not mind waiting a little longer to see a veterinarian that is worth seeing and not have to mortgage the house for either.\r \r We love you and miss you Gizmo more

Always take great care of our.... 7/3/2006

This clinic always takes good care of our 4-legged friends. We have 1 dog, and 3 cats and LOVE the new facility and the staff all care for pets and it shows. In a couple of days we have 2 cats scheduled for spaying and neutering and we have absolute confidence that our babies will be well taken care of. Check out Companion Pet...no appointment necessary for most visits. more

Excellent Vets office 3/9/2006

We have used this Vet for more than the last 7 years, even when they were at a different location in Hillsboro. We have a Manx who weighs 20 pounds who is alive thanks to this office after an encounter with a coyote. We also have a hound dog who is alive from a nasty bout with the fatal parvo virus, she was a runt who is highly susceptable compared to the rest of the litter. We also have two other cats who have been seen there, and one on her way there as we are also cat rescue. They even make the time to see four in a row of our animals, which is no fun adventure when coming from St Helens. Victoria Higgins, Mike McCoy, and Gloria Moots, very thankful and loyal customers. Pros: Courteous, Caring, Kind more

Comparible pricing, good service! 12/30/2005

We took our doxie Maggie to this friendly office to help treat her potty problems. Maggie, who is scared of anyone new was completely at ease once she walked into the office. I was very suprised!! Would recommend to others, clean office, good record keeping and flexible scheduling! more

Very inexpensive 12/1/2005

The fees are unbeatable. The wait is usually long but worth it because it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to take your animal in. We have a cat with asthma and have visited the place many times. We are always treated with respect. PROS: Fees are very low CONS: Long wait more

I was a first time customer at CPC, Hillsboro. 11/29/2005

Made reservations to have my dogs boarded for Thanksgiving. I provided all shot records in advance of boarding. On the day that I arrived, I was informed by an employee working as a vet technician, that the dogs required additional vaccination in order to be boarded. This requirement was never mentioned when the shot records were provided. She was rude. She stated that she felt that the fact the I questioned the additional vaccination and lack of prior notice meant that I was questioning her professionalism. I asked to speak with a vet but none was made available. I followed up with my vet and was told that the vaccination in question, the Corona Virus, had not been studied in adult dogs. I was left on short notice without a place to board my dogs for Thanksgiving. CPC Hillsboro did me disservice. I would not recommend this business to others. PROS: New Facility CONS: Poor Customer Service more

They are very caring! 11/9/2005

We used to have two dogs when I was younger. We always took them to Companion Pet Clinic in Hillsboro. The staff there was very kind and caring. They kept excellent records, billed us correctly (which seems to be pretty rare now days!), and the atmosphere was very professional. The clinic was always very clean. Our dogs eventually passed on and I haven't been there since, but I would highly recommend their services! more

Woof Woof 9/13/2005

Why take your pets to Gresham Companion Pet Clinic. Because they Vets are are caring, compassionate, extremely knowledgeable and totally committed to the well being of your pets. There dedication and commitment goes far beyond the call of duties. They saved my dying puppy from the horrible PARVO virus. Today 7 yrs later she is a healthy happy Aussie Shepard Thanks to the wonderful staff and veterinarians who watched over her and nursed her back to full health. She has her regular check ups and gets all excited to go see he favorite veterinarian. The wait can be a little long but well worth it, get there early. Take it from one who knows you will feel safe knowing that your beloved pets are in good hands at the Gresham Companion Pet Clinic. "Woof Woof" PROS: great care CONS: wait time more

Pet Clinic - Okay but would not recommend 8/1/2005

The clinic always had a smell whenever we went there. The front area was not kept very clean and the staff was indifferent to us. It was just like we were just another customer and they were not interested in personal service. The wait to be seen was always long and the staff was not always good with the animal. They insisted that my dog have a muzzle each time he was seen instead of trying to see what the problem was. Each animal is different in personality and temperment and this dog was an extremely excitable dog but they did not want or take the time to see what could be done other than subdue the dog. They were not very helpful in suggestions to make the pet more comfortable PROS: Cheap CONS: Dirty, not helpful, did not care to help make the animal comfortable. more

A good place 7/20/2005

I have taken my animals to companion pet clinic for many years! although the place is a little dirty, I really like Dr. Alford! He has always taken really good care of my animals, and he seems very fair in what he does! The wait can be long so I get there first thing in the morning when I know that I have to take my animals in! when I am there early the wait is not long at all! The best thing that I like is that I can trust that I am not getting ripped off my Dr. Alford, he lets me know my options, and the prices are reasonable and good! I have always experienced good customer service when I am there! The staff always seem very caring toward the animals! I would definately recommend this place more

Terrible customer service 6/26/2005

Like Stella had noted before me I see, the staff is rude here !!! I used to visit this clinic when I lived in Gresham, but after you do wait a LONG time to finally see one of their committee of vets ( only 1 of them is even worth seeing ), and when someone needed to have their cat put down, one of the vets came out into the lobby, in front of the other customers, to tell this person it was useless to have their cat continue living--the older couple that brought the cat in were very upset--and the vet continues his conversation with them--all to no avail that this couple wanted to be told in private. PROS: Many Companion Pet Clinics in the Portland area. CONS: Very rude staff and terrible customer service--see Review above. more

Be Courteous 5/11/2005

I have no idea why I continued to go here for services other than there was no need for an appointment and it was close to where I lived. The rudeness to me from the office personal was irritating then the doctor's continued rudeness finally prompted me to move on. I am so glad I did! PROS: No need for appointments CONS: Long waiting and extreme rudeness more

Great Pet Care 4/21/2005

Companion Pet Clinic is just a wonderful place if you need a good vet service. They do a little boarding as well if you have a pet that needs special care. more
