I just quit after two years. The club has its pluses, like it is affordable (around 45 bucks),its clean, is 24 hours on weekdays, and the wait time for machines is not too horrible.
The bad, and why I quit, is that it is very older in its clientele. Old people are people too, but the place is dominated by them. If you are young or a professional and are looking for a cool social place and to look at some pretty girls (or guys if your a girl) this place IS NOT FOR YOU. If you are 40, you are the youngest person there.
Just being full of older people would not be bad in and of itself, but alot of them are rude, selfish, and mean. I have seen them constantly try to talk to younger girls who look annoyed at best. The dominate the pool which makes anyone else wanting to use it for, you know, exercise impossible. The hog machines and use them as stools for socializing.
Also, they have bizarre rules. Instead of first come first serve, you have to ""sign up"" for individual machines. If you forget or see no one else using them even late in the evening, look out. I have been thrown off cardio machines by old guys who signed up after they saw me on a treadmill, claiming ""its there favorite one"" despite ten other ones being unoccupied. Also, people sign up then don't use them, which means you can see eight empty cardio machines and no one can use them because someone signed up, and if they pop up 15 minutes later, management will side with them.
The staff is older and also not very friendly. They side with their elderly patrons every time and it is a constant complaint among the few younger members they have. Perhaps because they are next to a large retirement community and get alot of their business there. There is no juice bar, no activities, just old foogies. If you are elderly or maybe a serious weight lifter who is there to use the free weights only, maybe this place is for you.
