City Discount Appliance

I needed a freezer yesterday afternoon and decided to check this place out...they had just what I needed...It was used but you couldnt tell because it was so clean. They offered to deliver on the spot. It was delivered this morning and I have my beef being delivered tomorow. Im a happy camper. more

City Discount Appliance sold my realtor a refrigerator that we discovered was defective. Ken told us he would order a brand new fridge direct from the manufacturer and we could just pay him the difference between what our realtor paid for the defective fridge, and the retail price of the new fridge. The new fridge would take two weeks to arrive, and we could "borrow" an old, used one in the meantime. Sounded good to us, so we gave him our credit card and ordered the new fridge. Weeks turned into months and there was no sign of the fridge. Ken would never call us to give us an update, despite telling us he would do so. We always had to track him down, then he would give us the run around; first there was a manufacturing delay, then it was sitting in the Seattle shipyard, then it was on a train in Iowa, etc. After over 3 months of this, I told Ken that as far as we are concerned, he had stolen our money ... and then his tune changed. All of a sudden, our fridge would arrive the next day. Mike the delivery guy brought the fridge into our kitchen. I noticed a dent on the door of the new fridge; he said it was right out of the box and he didn't know how that happened. Quickly, he and his assistant left. He did not give me any manuals or warranty information, he just left. Immediately, I found scratches and dings all over the outside. Ice cubes sat melting in the freezer, along with a dead bug. There was food stuck to the inside of the refrigerator compartment. The serial number had been removed, but the bit of the label that was left said that it had been built over a year prior. I took over 100 pictures of just how NOT brand new this refrigerator actually was. Basically, it took the threat of legal action to get CDA to refund us our money and remove the offending fridge. The owner was compliant, but only after it was clear that we had caught his employees committing a major act of fraud. And even so, they kept our realtor's money - several hundred $$$ - and never had to sell anything to anyone. AVOID THEM!!! more

My refigerator went out recently and I couldn't let it go on for too long, so I called City Discount and it did need a new motor; It that was a lot cheaper than buying a new one. more

Great Experience.....!!! I had a few hiccups as expected with construction and partly because of my not ordering the right things. Rob with my install issues AND Ken with my appliances.......WERE GREAT. I had ordered the wrong stove because I did not realize that I needed one without the backboard and I was able to re-order NO PROBLEM. They called me when my stuff was in and they were very attentive to my needs. I would not hesitate to go back to City Discount Appliance. They were great!!! more

Stay away, these guys are COMPLETE SCUMBAGS. The manager of a place we rent bought a refrigerator from them that was DOA. It took them the better part of a week to get somebody out there to fix it, during which we were left with no refrigeration. He botched the job and ruined the fridge for good. It took them the better part of another week to get a replacement to us. After about a week, the filtered water and ice maker on the replacement went out too. Again took them forever to get out to look at it, at which point they claimed it was a result of the filter getting clogged with rust from the house and therefore not their fault. I don't know if they charged the owner for the filter, but they had to order it, and it took weeks to arrive. When it did, they didn't send it to us, so we had to run up there to get it ourselves. When we installed it, it didn't fix the problem, so they came out again, once more taking at least a week to get us in, and eventually found that the water line was blocked with plumbing tape from when they had installed it in the first place. After clearing the line, however, the icemaker still doesn't work, and once again, they can't be bothered to get out to fix it for a week or so. Separately, the replacement fridge was missing a bunch of shelves and drawers. First they denied that they were missing, and that this model was just "that way" eventually they came up with a few shelves and drawers, but there is still at least one missing, but they insist that we have all of them and have flatly refused to provide any more. Throughout all of this they have been rude and dismissive at every turn, acting like it is somehow our fault that they gave us a lemon and are taking their own sweet time about getting it fixed, to the extent they will commit to fixing it at all. Rob the "service manager" is particularly vile. I'm just glad it's not my money they took. STAY CLEAR OF THESE JERKS AT ALL COSTS. more

Hey everyone. I know that before I make a decision on a purchase such as a home appliance, I search the web for reviews and other peoples experiences. I needed a washer and dryer, promptly! Having small children I do alot of laundry. I heard about City discount appliance through a family member who has had a great experience there. They had exactly what I wanted and even gave me a better deal than I originally thought I was getting. PLUS- they delivered it to me within the next couple hours, AND took my broken ones with them! I am completely satisfied with this company and the people I have met there. I would most definitly refer anyone to these guys and I will be returning. more

So I needed a part for my refrigerator because it caught on fire. I called around. The guy who answered was very polite and friendly. And though he didn't have what I was looking for this time...he gave the 3 suppliers that he uses and gave me their telephone number! Kindness is far and few between these days. more

I needed a large capacity freezer on short notice and my appliance repair guy recommended City Discount Appliance for used appliances. I called City Discount Appliance and they had an like new freezer, which I asked them to plug in so I could check the temperature the next day when I went in to see it. They actually called me the next day to tell me the temp before I even got to the store (-20 degrees F). I went down, looked at it, and was treated courteously by the staff there. I paid for it and it was delivered the next day. The delivery man knew what he was doing, respected my property, and hauled off the old freezer that did not work. For under $200 I got a 21 cubic foot freezer, delivered, AND a 6 month warranty. I actually got it sooner than if I had bought from Lowe's! I have had the freezer now for 10 months and it has worked great -. I highly recommend City Discount Appliance and would buy from them again. I was leery of buying a used appliance, but this was a positive experience. THANK YOU! more

Hi All, I just wanted to share my experience with you about this appliance dealer. My brother and I purchase a house full of appliances for our mother. Of course like everyone we were on a tight budget. We went in this store located on Aurora and picked out a refrigerator, range, dishwasher and over the range microwave. These guys delivered it the same day and hooked everything up as promised. "couldnt ask for better service" not only was the service second to none but the price we paid was less than half of what we found anywhere else. If you looking to find great appliances at a price that is unheard of call this place. After getting this deal for our mother I think I am going to furnish my house with new appliances. more

.The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. I have bought several appliances and appliance packages from this company. The refurbished machines have all worked like new and they have some fantastic pricing from time to time on brand new stainless steel stuff. All items are one of a kind, so they get what they get. I reccommend checking with them often if you need or know you will have a need for an appliance. The deliveries have always been on time, and if and when some minor problem arises, you get the feeling they are on your side and will help you! I like to do business there and I think you will too! more

This place has the best prices and realy stand behind there products. We bought a dishwasher that was half the price of new. About 1 month after the warranty expired the dishwasher starting making loud noice. Even though the warranty was expired these guys came out free of charge. Come to find out the only thing wrong with it is there was a broken piece of glass in the bottom of it. They pulled it out and its working like it was the day I bought it. Thanks...good to know small companies like this still exist. more

I was trying to fix my dryer inexpensively without calling a repair person in.I am a complete ametuer, I assure you. I ordered the wrong part, but they worked with me, helped me diagnose, and though I exchanged the orignal part 4 times, they were patient and I was able to get the correct part at the original price that I paid. I found it refreshing to have found a business that operates on trust, and helped me patiently despite my obvious ignorance. more

We had a wedding party last saturday and our refrigerator broke down. i called City Discount Appliance just as they were closing on friday evening and let them know how desperate we were. The guys were very understanding and had someone out first thing on saturday to repair. This saved me from alot of head aches and it was affordable. Its good to know that small businesses that look after the customer still exsist. I would recomend this company to anybody and everybody...they take customer service to a whole nother level more

I went down there and explained how urgently I need to have this delivered. It ended up that I purchased a brand new refrigerator at half the price of retail and not only that but they delivered it just shortly after I purchased it. This is the kind of deal and service that you cant get anywhere that Im aware of. I would recome. more
