Smooth moving experience... 1/25/2010

I just wanted to share what a positive experience I had w/ Circle City Movers last week. I was moving away from Indy to South Bend to be with my fiance. This was already a very stressful time for me, and I wanted to be sure all of my worldly belongings made the trip safely. I called 6 moving companies and chose CCM due tho their pricing and how polite the rep (Kaiser) was on the phone. I felt assured that CCM would take care of me my belongings. And did they ever! Kaiser and Patty showed up with complimentary wardrobe boxes for me to use... this made the moving process a breeze. Also, they made sure that my furniture was protected and were very meticulous in packing everything :) I would definitely uses them again and highly recommend them to anyone! My stress levels went way down during the move and just wanted to share with everyone the this experience with CCM. Thank you Patty and Kaiser! more

It is very unbelieveable that the 10/12/2009

It is very unbelieveable that the review below from ""AUBURN HILL"" is from the PROPERTY MANAGER AT AUBURN HILL APARTMENTS. This is a slander and fraud comment she has made and I am going to find out how she can do this and get by with it. The true incident is that she called CCM on Sunday afternoon May 13, 2012 and asked our prices for moving and we told her our regular pricing. Then she told Kaiser her movers had not shown up to move her tentant and she was in a spot because he needed to move ASAP that evening, Sunday evening. The movers and I were eating dinner and we left our dinner to get the truck out to her right away. Kaiser and another mover left to do the job and when Kaiser got to the job he decided to call the property manager to see if he could add 2 more movers because her tentant was not ready to move. She had turned her phone off by that time so the tentant said it was okay to add the movers. He did not want to be moving until midnight and if we had not added the movers that is what would of happened. They got the job done in 3.75 hours and she was told about the 1 hour trip charge and the $20.00 fuel charge. I only charged her for 2 additional movers for 2.0 hours @ $80.00 per hour and no trip or fuel charge for them and they worked 2.75 hours. I had a emergency charge of $80.00 because we were out on a Sunday night so I paid my movers for an emergency move which is $3.00 per hour per mover more than they usually make. This move was suppose to be paid on Monday, April 30, 2012. The property manager called me and I was out of town and my cell phone was down. Kaiser went to the apartments on Friday May 04, 2012 to give her the bill. She totally refused to pay the bill!! I tried several times to call her and left messages with the staff and on Monday May 14, 2012 I tried 3 times and left messages. Called again on Tuesday May 15, 2012 and she finally called me back, she was very rude, discourtious, and not professional. I confirmed the actions with 2 of my movers that went with Kaiser to give her the bill, one was holding the door open and the other one was standing ourside the door and his actions were very professional. I told her I wanted payment and she violated the contract her resident signed and I did not scream at her. I did not charge her for the long carry because my company does not charge long carries. Today, I wrote a Collection Letter, Invoice, and the work order her residence signed and hand carried it over to her office. When I went in she asked me if she could help me and I told her I was hand carrying the letter to her and I wanted paid. She immediately ORDERED ME AND KAISER OFF THE PROPERTY AND DID NOT MAKE PAYMENT. She acted like she was calling the police. This is totally wrong and by the way I knocked off $240.00 so she would just pay for the service and it be over! If you are 5 days late with an apartment complex they start charging late fees. Good luck to you Property Manager because you could not even give your company's correct name Auburn Hill Apartments and as my Daddy always said ""What goes around, comes back around to you"" Good luck to you!! more

Response to Gale Bennett 4/22/2008

It is unfortunate that Gale felt that her complaints were not addressed appropriately. We moved Gale in the beginning of April, 2008. Her first contact with our company was on 4-19-08. It is difficult for Circle City Movers to be responsible for items that have been allegedly ""stolen"" when they were not reported in a timely fashion. Because of a two and a half week laps between the date of the move and the report of theaft, we were not able to help Gale with her complaint. Terribly unprofessional service at a premium price 3/17/2007

The day began with 3 late drivers entering our house encased in a cloud of smoke (cigarette and other). They brought a truck without a loading ramp, so the beginning of the move was not only hideously unprofessional, but they also scraped all of our furniture from the front to the back, of the truck. My husband loaded at least 50% of the truck, because the movers were so, so, so slow. In between their smoke breaks, they would move a piece of furniture here and there. We paid for a crew of 3, but one of the movers must have been there strictly to watch and smoke some more. He claimed that he had bad knees, so he cannot lift things or go up and down stairs. How he was hired to lift things and carry those things up and down stairs is beyond me. The ""owner"" showed up halfway through the move to bring a loading ramp. He was extremely rude and also unprofessional. By the time he came, at least one thing had been broken. Instead of taking money off of the extremely expensive move, he took the piece of furniture and said that he would have it fixed. (We still have yet to see it.) We expressed our concern for the slowness of the move, so he went to the truck, screamed at the workers, belittled them and ultimately ticked them off. The rest of the move was slow, even more expensive and at least 3 other pieces of furniture were scratched deeply. Each of the workers spent some time talking badly about the other workers, behind each other's backs. They also shared their unkind opinion of their boss and the company. When we were unloading the truck, with the movers, we just moved half of our furniture into the garage to avoid having to spend even more money. We have come to the conclusion that if we had the choice between Circle City Movers and using a U-Haul and personally moving ourselves, we would prefer to be busy and sore- with our furniture unharmed and our bank account intact. Pros: They eventually showed up Cons: Service, speed of move, price, management, communication, handling of furniture, and the list goes on... more
