I've been to Cinetopia in Vancouver 4/10/2012

I've been to Cinetopia in Vancouver many times and have yet to be disappointed. My husband and I love the wine cellar where you cane go in and taste many different wines-we have found one of our favorite bottles of Malbec, thanks to this feature (Crios). The ambiance in their restaurant is great for a date night. We always go to the Living Room theater where we can bring our wine, or order a bottle from one of their servers, who've always provided courteous prompt service-which is more than I can say for their Beaverton location (unfortunately). Their Vancouver location is awesome though! I highly recommend it. more

The food was terrible. Over priced and 3/4/2012

The food was terrible. Over priced and bad quality. The place looks nice so we expected more. We are prett easy going. Just wanted to be comfortable, watch a good movie, and get some decent food. The movie was good.... cahirs were big, but tray leaned down and our food slid off! What's the point? People sitting next to us were laughing about it, theirs did the same. Between all of us we ordered a burger, some fish and chips, a bottle of wine, and dessert. I would never order ANY of that again. Nothing. Not a place we would return to. I guess the greasy popcorn tastes good. that's what I heard. So If you want a bag of fat..this is a great place for you. more

Project Ridge 6/27/2011

I'm a big fan of Cinetopia and always have been so I decided to check out Project Ridge. I was absolutely blown away. It is stunning. every where you turn there is something to look at. Whether it be the deck over looking the pond or the miniature movie screens all over the theater showing trailers rather than just posters. The theater itself was very comfortable, and the screen and sound was something I've never experience before. You can tell this was made with love and passion. I recommend this place highly, especially if you want an experience that you will find no where else.... P.s I brought a date and it was perfect. more

THE BEST POPCORN I EVER ATE!!!! 5/11/2011

I love this place! The best date night in years! I was so happy about my experience. Let me just say the POPCORN was so so so good. The best EVER, anywhere! So as we waited for the movie to start, I was elated to see up on the balcony, a man playing a guitar! Who invented this wonderful place? The movie was great. Afterwards, we paused in the restaurant/bar area to check out the Mariner game playing on one of the T.V.'s. There was a guy playing the piano and singing! I have to laugh now with child-like glee! I am definitely going back and I can't wait. Customer service was excellent. more

Cinetopia customer service is awful! 4/8/2011

Cinetopia is discriminatory! My husband and I were kicked out of Cinetopia because we wouldn't move from our couple seat. We got to the movie theater an hour early and picked out 2 seats together. Next to us was another couple seat and on the other side a single seat. A couple sat one in the couple seat and one in the single seat. It created a single seat, which created a problem, only my husband & I were asked to move, not the couple who created mess in the first place. We were asked to move to accommodate a couple who came late to the movie. more

Cinetopia Theater and Restaurant 11/29/2009

The burgers at cinetopia are about $12 and are a half pound angus patty. Absolutely the best burger and fries I have ever had. Every single fry was cooked to perfection. Besides the theater having the best picture, sound and seating, the wine list is amazing. Definetely worth every penny! Pros: Great restaurant, bar, and service Cons: Wish there was one closer to home more

See the show, don't order food 10/5/2009

My wife and I wen't to the 12:30 Sat matinee show and paid $24, for two tickets. I guess this is OK, but should have been lower for a matinee show. By the end of the show, I had ordered 2 hamburgers, 2 glasses of wine and 1 cup of tea, for a grand total (including tickets) of $83.59, $59.59 for food and drink only. I am later thinking to myself that I could have gone to some of Portlands finer reastaurants and paid this, for possibly a nice steak dinner and drinks, with great service. I guess I could understand this someone is on a first date and is trying to impress their significant other, with their hard earned money. I absolutely do not have a problem spending for fine food and drinks, but not $60 for a couple of hamburgers and 2 glasses of wine. Not for me again! Pros: seating, screens Cons: expensive food more

Why go anywhere else? 8/2/2009

The first movie I saw at Cinetopia was Finding Nemo. Every movie looks good at Cinetopia. The chairs are amazingly comfortable and there's a ton of leg room so you don't have to move when people need to get by which is nice. And if you're tall like me (over 5'10""), the extra leg room is a major plus. The sound quality is amazing as is the picture. I saw a movie at a different theater and there is a HUGE difference. Pros: Everything! Cons: Ticket prices(but thats every theater) more

Cinetopia: More than just movies 7/27/2009

Cinetopia has proven to be more than just a movie-watching experience. Upon entrance into the venue, visitors immediately feel a vibe that there's something different about the place.\r \r And there is. \r \r The seating is comfortable and the screen is vast, aiding in the overall enjoyable experience of Cinetopia. The menu offers a plethora of options from which to choose, appealing to various palates. And if you're in the mood for good conversation and libations, the wine list is extensive and there's even a chance to be daring and try some of the wines before purchasing a full glass or bottle. \r \r I would highly recommend a visit to Cinetopia if you're ever in the area. And if you're not in the area, I'd suggest making a special trip to the location. You won't regret it. Pros: Wine, comfortable seating, great menu selection more

Every Other Theater Falls Short 7/27/2009

I recently relocated to Portland, Oregon from Nashville, Tennessee for a job and my very first weekend in town a co-worker took me out to Cinetopia. As a person who often attends movie theaters, I was so impressed with the overall experience and the attention to detail. I could tell someone cared about giving me an experience that would surpass every place I've visited prior.\r \r The wine bar is amazing. The opportunity to get wine by the ounce allowed me to sample many wines and develop personal favorites as opposed to committing to one type and potentially being disappointed.\r \r The living room theater accomplished its goal by providing a level of comfort that actually rivals being home with an excellent audio/visual experience.\r \r Lastly, as a musician, it brought me great joy to see and listen to a live pianist playing jazz. 1) The pianist sounded great. 2) It set a mood that allowed me to enjoy my wine while waiting for my show time.\r \r At the conclusion of my first visit, I was so excited that I literally called my girlfriend and family back home, and let each them know that I've visited a theater that's revolutionizing the commercial theater experience. I've vowed to take each friend or family member that visits me.\r \r I recommend you give Cinetopia try, and be forever disappointed with every other theater. You won't regret it! Pros: The wine bar, living room theater & live pianist are great. more

What Dinner & A Movie Was Meant To Be! 7/16/2009

I enjoyed the high end atmosphere and service. The wine was exquisite and then a snuggle with my husband in the spacious leather seating during the movie fit the bill. Small price to pay for such a grand experience! Pros: Luxury at it's finest! Cons: N/A more

See a movie in style! 6/1/2009

My friend and I saw a movie in the Living Room theater and were very pleasantly surprised by the comfy leather chairs and the ottomans that you can put your feet up on! There aren't alot of seats in the Living Room theater, so get there early - but it's well worth it - the servers serve dinner to you right there in your seat - what a treat! I'm a stay-at-home mom, so it was really nice to put my feet up and have someone wait on me for a change! Cinetopia is a great place to spend a night out! Pros: Everything! Comfortable seats, relaxing setting Cons: None that I can think of more

We will never see a movie anyplace else 5/21/2009

My husband and I have been going to Cinetopia for almost 2 years now, and every time we go we remember why we enjoy going there to watch movies. The living room theaters are amazing, we love being able to split a pitcher of beer, eat some great food, and put our feet up. The customer service is always wonderful and did I mention that the food is great, we have never had a bad meal there, I had the potroast last night and it was amazing!! It's like watching a movie in our own home, but way better, because the picture and sound quality are perfect, and the food is much better than what I cook at home. We love Cinetopia and swear that we will never see a movie anyplace else!!! Pros: Best movie theater ever and wonderful food Cons: There are absolutely no cons more

Great picture, Horriable sound 5/12/2009

I came to Cinetopia for Star Trek this weekend in the living room theater. Very Comfy. The Service was outstanding. The Food was good. Prices a little high, but pretty much what I was expecting for a burger when popcorn costs close to $8.00. Picture was perfect, the sound on the other hand was not!!! IT WAS LOUD! So loud in fact that I had to leave the comfort of my seat to go out to the lobby so my ears would stop ringing. I decided at that point since I was already missing my movie I would sit at the bar and have a beer. And all I could hear were the obnoxiously loud lobby previews. Is everyone that works in this building deaf??? They must be if they cant notice how loud it is. The last straw was before I re-entered my movie I used the restrooms and the music (or at least thats what they must think it is) was so loud for the little room it was shrill! And I noticed that I had been there for about an hour and a half and had heard all the same music when I was standing in a long line earlier. I then decided to go back and finish my movie. Movie picture once again was great but the volume was so high I just could not enjoy it. I will have to go and watch it again at another theater and listen to it and try to remeber how it looked at cinetopia. Unless you like hideously noisy situations dont waste the money on cinetopia! Pros: Comfy Seats Cons: NOISE, NOISE, NOISE more

Regal who? 5/7/2009

Cinetopia is the best. It's a little spendy, $15 for living room seating, but well worth the money. The seats are roomy, leather, with ottomans. You can eat dinner and drink wine or beer in these theaters. They have musicians in there playing on some nights. Once you go here it is hard to go to a normal theater! The only downfall, they can get really busy, especially on opening weekends and I have been often an hour or earlier before the movie started and it's already sold out. I have since learned my lesson and bought online. Though if you do that, you still need to get there early to get a decent seat. Also, the food is a little high priced then I am comfortable with, for the amount that you get. Popcorn is delish though, they even have a butter bar with different flavors. WORTH IT! Pros: Comfortable Cons: Sometimes Busy more

1 Star for High Quality Theater Experience. Nothing Else. 4/26/2009

Yeah, high quality picture. Followed up with a staff that have clearly convinced themselves that ignoring customers, complete absence of smiles or eye contact, over priced food, over priced drinks, and (surprise) a dining room completely devoid of any paying customers, married with tacky wall art equals a great evening in the Couve. Come on guys, you are not what you try to pull off. We will not waste our time at that place again. Pros: Amazing Picture Quality Cons: Everything else. more

Prepare for ""sticker shock"": $41.00 for a matinee? 3/8/2009

My friend had been raving about Cinetopia. We decided to see ""Coraline"" in 3D. However, the nearest theater to us where it was playing in 3D was Cinetopia. I figured I'd see what my friend had been raving about. \r \r When we got there they were having problems with the ticket machine in the booth. We were told we could buy them at the concession counter. One stop shopping - great! We ordered a small soda, a next up from the small popcorn, a box of Junior Mints, and a box of chocolate covered almonds - and two 3D matinee tickets.\r \r The guy at the counter said, ""That'll be $41.00"". My wife said, ""You're kidding, right?"" He said, ""No, it's $41.00"". \r \r Okay, the tickets were $10.75 apiece - that leaves $19.50 for the popcorn, candy, and small drink. \r \r Should we ever go up there again for a movie I think we'll skip the concessions. I think eating in the restaurant would have been cheaper. Pros: Comfortable seating - unobstructed view Cons: total cost was an unpleasant surprise more

HD Movies look so amazing here I have a hard time enjoying other theaters. Plus The place isn't tacky like most theaters 11/15/2008

This theater is amazing! I like everythig about it. From itsclean and appealing appearance from the street to the superior picture quality of their projectors, I've never been to another theater that even compares. This place is much classier than other theaters also. It's much nicer inside and its dining area is great place for a date. They even serve restaraunt quality food and wine in addition to the regular popcorn and snacks. But what really gets me is the HD picture quality. It is just gorgeous. I often get headaches at other theaters now cuz their picture quality seems so grainy and makes me strain my eyes after being to Cinetopia. And the Living Room theaters they offer are even better. They have the most spacious and comfortable leather chairs with foot rests. I dont know what else to say. For and extra couple bucks its so worth the experience. more

This is the ONLY Theater we Visit Anymore. 10/27/2008

Over two years ago, some friends, my wife, and I went to see ""Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"" for our first visit to Cinetopia. We've literally gone to *no other theater* since. This is half of an hour's drive from our house on the west side of Portland, too.\r \r This year, I've seen more than a dozen movies there (only Dark Knight twice) and eaten in the restaurant and theater or simply gotten a snack from the concession stand; all have been fabulous.\r \r The quality of the movies has been exceptional - just for kicks, go _back_ to a non-digital picture after seeing this; and the service has been spectacular. Best of all, the price is only slightly more than a 'normal' theater. How can you go wrong?\r \r The only reason we will stop making the trip to Vancouver to see movies at Cinetopia is that they are building one in Tigard. At that point, we'll just have to give up our day-jobs and 'live' at the theater :-). more

Cinetopia - redefining the movie theater experience - A REAL TREAT! 10/10/2008

I just love this theater concept. I take my son to Cinetopia for all the really special movies, like Harry Potter. And I take everyone I meet to Vintopia to sample wines and just kick. I tell all my friends about the wonderful all digital theater and gourmet food combination. Thank you Cinetopia for the best food and wine experience in Vancouver. And unlike most other restaurants in the area, the staff is professional and obviously well trained. \r \r Simply fabulous! The experience is well worth every penny every single time. \r \r \r \r Pros: A luxurious and delicious experience Cons: There is only one. Can't wait tilll this concept catches on all across the country more
