After our fiasco with All Pets Animal Hospital, I called Cinco Ranch Vet Hospital in hopes that they might be able to do a last minute squeeze in to do a wellness exam on my new puppy (All Pets had cancelled the appointment just hours before we were due in). They were very kind and accommodating and fit us in that day.
The office is located across from Lifetime Fitness in a relatively new building. When we walked in it didn't smell AT ALL. Everything was beautifully clean and decorated. Its actually a NICE place to be. The staff at the front were very cheerful and friendly. They swooned over my new puppy and helped us pick a name.
The waiting rooms are also very clean and well equipped. They have nice padded bench seats to sit on while we waited and TVs with a pet health info DVD playing. Everything was very nicely decorated.
We didn't have to wait long at all - the Doctors and nurses were very prompt. Piper had a great experience despite having a prod up her bottom with a thermometer! She did great and likes all the staff who really seem to like her too - they even remember her by name when we go in.
When Piper got smacked in the eye by one of our cats, we rushed her in at 7:00 AM and they kept her all day without charge so the vet could have a look at her between appointments.
When our eldest cat had some emergency health issues, they saw her that evening - just a few hours after my call. They suggested several courses of action and recommended what would be best. The diet change they suggested has done wonders for her AND she's lost an immense amount of her excess weight. Way more than our former vet at All Pets managed.
They have extended hours so its easy to get an appointment at a good time for us. They also have very reasonable prices. I don't feel like I'm being fleeced just to give my pet good health care. Ive also spotted the staff cleaning - they have a water vacuum system so everything stays sanitary. They also call after appointments to check in. We have seen 2 of the vets on staff and they're very nice. I also like that I can call up with concerns and they'll do their best to answer over the phone without needing an appointment (unlike All Pets).
My only complaint is that they use Fort Dodge Vaccines (terrible vaccine company in my opinion, at least for dogs and especially where the sensitive breeds are concerned - like my American Eskimo). We take Piper to be vaccinated at our OLD OLD vet on Beechnut and Wilcrest (Dr. Maxon). He uses Pfizer vaccines.
Happy with our new vet we chose them to board Piper when we had to go away on short notice. We spent $22 a night on a large 5'x3' "run" for her. She was walked three times a day, fed twice, played with in their enclosed yard, and groomed on the day of pick-up at no charge (bathed, nails clipped, ears and eyes flushed, anal glands expressed, feet hair trimmed, and an Easter bandanna to finish it off). They feed science diet to their boarders but were happy to use the diet I provided. When we picked Piper up she was happy and healthy. They monitor their boarders weight every day and are watched by vet techs for illness. We were very happy with the whole experience. Piper was tired when she came home, I'm sure it was tough for her as she'd never been left before, but all things considered she did great and we were happy with the whole experience. I say this as a Pet Sitter as well, I'm so glad that she got to stay in a large enclosure and play in the yard. As a puppy she really needed that and a fellow Pet Sitter would have had to leave her in her Crate between visits if we'd gone that direction. I was very happy and so was she.
Bottom line? CLEAN, friendly, attentive, flexible, affordable, no pressure / no guilt, knowledgeable, caring, nearby. I'm so very happy with this vet. Im giving them a 4 star rating because it would be nice if they used a different vaccine brand.
