Chinatown Market

I prefer doing groceries in this store because not only they offer free parking for the guest, but they also have fresh meat and fish. unlike other Asian grocery store that I know in Chicago, we are able to find fresh fish paste. Try their unpacked meat or fish ball, they are much better than meat/fish ball that are already plastic packed. They also sell cheaper stuff comparing other store in the area, for example, their Japanese tofu is .10 cheaper, I know it's only .10, but if you buy 10 of them on weekly basis, you could save some $$ to buy other snacks. more

Chinatown Market is a decent place to go for your basic Asian groceries. The Chinese vegetables (bok choy, Chinese broccoli, on choy, lotus root, etc) are generally fresh, but as with other grocery stores, sometimes you'll be stuck looking at produce that should have been removed from the shelf several days prior. The store itself is small, but it is comparatively cleaner than the other Asian grocery stores in the area. However, go to the market knowing what you want - good customer service is not a prerequisite of employment. Bonus points for the free parking lot that you can park at while shopping at the store. However, the "parking monitor" is rather strict - he'll threaten to tow your car if you even make a gesture of walking across the street. more
