I used to travel a lot to Chicago and stayed at the Downtown Marriott very often. In all honesty, the one and only reason I kept coming back is the Marriott rewards program. The rooms are all old, not very specious and overall have a cheap feel to them. Not even a small touch of luxury anywhere. Room service in this hotel is among the worst in the business, both in low quality of food and high cost, not mention how slow it is. The exercise facility is actually good and of cousre, the location is great. I was disappointed to see that they chose to invest a significant amount of money to renovate the lobby, but not the rooms (where do you think guests spend more time...?).
Pros: Great location, gym, Marriott Points...
Cons: Old rooms, bad room service, way too expensive for what you're getting most year round
