Best

Central Market is a great place to go, whether you want to order off a menu or create your own salad or pasta dish. It is always a great quality and I would definatly recommend it...

Worst

That's all it is - trendy. The food & service are actually nothing special. Pros: healthy Cons: yuppies

great variety of fruits, vegs, and seafood, fresh... bakery is so good.... more

Not as good at is used to be. 11/3/2007

Was once one of our family favorites. Seems to have gone down in quality lately. Our sandwiches were little more than cold-cuts on pre-sliced bread. They also seem to have lost some of their really good employees. There was low turnover there for a long time. Now it's a different group every time we visit. Pros: good location, convenient to shopping Cons: prices have increased, quality seems to have slid, parking congested. more

A Great Place I Ill Never Get Tired Of 2/1/2006

Central Market is a great place to go, whether you want to order off a menu or create your own salad or pasta dish. It is always a great quality and I would definatly recommend it to anyone that I meet. Pros: Food, Variety Cons: Cost more

good place for all 10/21/2005

Central Market is a great place to eat for both families and those who appreciate the finer things. When I went to UT, my friends and I would often go there for their great atomosphere and good food. It's a great place to people watch and offers a more wholesome environment than say that of Riverside Pros: atomosphere, food more

Too much hype 12/31/2003

I am very loyal fan of the market itself but the cafe is strictly ok. Their Chicken tenders, the portobello sandwich are almost tasteless and overpriced. The Thai chicken pizza is quite good at westlake but mediocre at north lamar. Their greek salad is good but the asian salad is too pungent. The turkey Havarti sandwich is tasty but a tad too dry. Their fries are very good only when they serve them hot; I have gotten them pretty cold too! Overall, its a great atmosphere; sometimes their specials are good but I think for a cafe, they are a little pricey. Their need to revamp their menu a little bit and make them tastier. Pros: Ambience, parking Cons: overall value, tasteless, pricey specials more

Wedding Flowers 11/8/2003

Central Market's wedding flowers are the world's worst. They care nothing about proportion (size of arrangment to size cake it's going on), their flowers shed dreadfully, and they die within hours. The heads of the roses just flop over and they're the worst quality anywhere in Austin. more

A little unknown secret 2/10/2003

If you haven't checked out CM's floral department for a special event give them a call. We used them for our wedding day and had outstanding flowers. Guests were blown away by the quality and arrangements of our flowers. To this day we still receive compliments on them and the best part is they didn't break the bank! I would use them again in a heartbeat! more

Great, but an Attraction???? 11/14/2002

I'm not sure if this would be a great place for visitors because there are Central Markets in other parts of the state. I lived in Austin for 5 years and I was very sad to leave because I do love Central Market, but I live in Houston now, and we have 2 of them here, so although the store is really awesome, I am not sure I would consider it a tourist attraction. more

great lunch spot 11/7/2002

This is the perfect place for lunch with friends with or without the kids. Great playground. more

size is everything 11/6/2002

I got what I paid for!!! I had a very large and variety packed salad (included bacon, olives, chicken, feta). It was fresh and wonderful. Had to wait a while, which gave time for good conversation. Pros: fresh ingredients, large quantity Cons: wait more

Downer 11/6/2002

A truly disapponting experience. Better to make a trip to McD's more

Top Notch 11/6/2002

We dine at Central Market regularly. Since it requires a trek of some distance, it must be worth the journey. Pros: Interesting choices Cons: Few locations more

Excellent Choice! 10/22/2002

My favorite grocer in Austin. Central Market boasts exceptional produce--something I've had a difficult time finding since moving to Texas--and great customer service. Additionally, they have a great selection of pre-made, healthy lunch and dinner items. Beats Whole Foods hands down. more

a tasty - gourmet delight! 10/17/2002

they have everything here that you can't find anywhere else. Also with a cafe, coffee bar, ready made food for your family dinner, no prep dinner entrees, health foods & vitamins, gourmet desserts, every cheese you can think of, wine experts - the best produce in Austin. Even though the prices are higher than most - you gotta love this place. Pros: great variety, awesome quality Cons: expensive more

Just trendy 10/11/2002

That's all it is - trendy. The food & service are actually nothing special. Pros: healthy Cons: yuppies more

never seen anything like it 10/10/2002

Central Market is a unique shopping experience and a pleasant place to eat when visitors are looking for an Austin experience. CM is an Austin creation that has spread all over Texas. Each location is as unique as the customers it serves. Definitely a hit with the tourists! more

Can't go wrong at Central Market 10/9/2002

I think Central Market is a great place to eat. They have so many things to choose from on the menu. You can stick with your favorites, or be pleasantly surprised by a new choice. The only slight drawback for me is finding a place to sit, especially when they're busy. However, that alone has never stopped me from visiting this fine eatery. Great place to take visitors! It's SO Austin! :) more

I Can Eat It! 7/30/2002

This has a good selection, variety, easy parking, and has varied menu options for a variety of tastes Pros: Music, Outside Dining Cons: Cafeteria Style more

rabbit eater 7/26/2002
