I've been taking my cats here for years and have met all the vets and many of the staff. Everyone has been awesome. They treat my cats and me with respect and care. They handle delicate situations, well delicately. They give me the info straight and inform me of things that might be difficult. And they've handled my past losses with love as well. Amazing people. In all the years I have been going to Cary St. Vet, Dr. Ereio and the staff have always been kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional. They have always taken great care of my pets and really care about what they do. Their prices are comperable to the other vets around. You get what you pay for! \r Oh... and Don't believe anything in those negative reviews - they're crazy! Sounds like they have more problems than any one vet could cause! Seek help people! The Dr. was very friendly and knowledgable, the front desk staff didn't know what the proper charges were and I was over charged $60, which had I not questioned the bill would have been lost.\r I felt the charges were way above what the should have been and would definitely recommend you ask before you agree to any procedures.\r I won't be going back. Let me be clear, this is a review of Cary Street Veterinary Hospital. After years of using Cary Street Vet Hospital, I will not return there. Last week, they completely botched my pet's diagnosis. That lead to a now 4-day stay at the emergency vet service. When I attempted to speak with Dr. Ereio about my concerns and the need to understand what happened... he was rude and defensive. It seems clear to me now that he did not listen to me, nor review my pet's records when I brought my pet in. All of the negative reviews on here are for the Carytown Veterinary Emergency Center at 3312 West Cary St, NOT Cary Street Veterinary Hospital at 3210 West Cary St. I have no experience with the Emergency Center. I would definitely recommend Cary Street Veterinary Hospital. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous, and they obviously care about their patients. I have taken my cat there for regular checkups/shots and when he developed impacted glands. Their fees are a little higher than other vets in the area, but you're paying for the location. cary st vet and their doctors are great! nearly all of these reviews are for the VETERINARY EMERGENCY CENTER (VEC) located at 3312 W CARY STREET. VEC is 2 blocks from cary st vet and is NOT THE SAME PLACE. cary st vet is general practice not 24/7 emergency care. the 2 hospitals are not affiliated with one another at all! i have been taking my pets to cary st vet for years and have always had great service from people who truly care about animals. i would never go anywhere else! I could not ask for a better vet than Dr. Ereio! I have a very low income, and I don't know how Cary Street Vet compares to other vets in terms of cost. However, when it comes to my baby, all I care about is how the staff and doctors treat him. I am the proud owner of He-Man, a 12 year-old black cat who's been seen for suspected thyroid disease and a bad case of fleas. Dr. Ereio has always been compassionate, willing to answer all of our questions, and very sweet with my boy. He remembered who we were after only one visit and provided free samples of the flea medicine He-Man needed. I have always been a real ""cat person"", and I was very happy to see that at Cary Street Vet, cats are not an afterthought but are treated just as seriously as dogs. Thanks again! Medical is expensive for humans & our animals. Whilst Cary St Vet hospital & Emergency Vet work with each they are 2 distinct facilities. When referring to the 24/7 office, that is the Emergency Vet's office. NOT Cary St Vet. Any emergency room is costly, remember it costs $$$ to staff a place 24/7. I have only had great experiences with Cary St Emergency Hospital. Yes, it was expensive- but I don't believe for the services they provide it's anymore expensive than any other 24/7 facility. \r Cary St Vet Hospital, all my dogs have been going there for years. Although it was not the hospitals fault that my dog got sick I spent hundereds of dollars and after my baby died I have never been treated so bad. They are careless people who do not care about your pet! If you love your baby like I did mine, you will NOT take your dog there! Broad Street Hospital or Church Hill at least are on your side and make time for you, cary street hospital will just ask you to pay their rediculously high bill and send you out. The last thing I needed was to be around cold people on such a horrible day when my dog died. more

My dog goes there for therapy, which is very very good, excellent feedback after the sessions, etc. No complaint there whatsoever and although it is expensive, it's close by and I don't have to drive an hour to pay a fortune just for him to swim in a pool. Just wanted to set the record straight: the previous reviewer is NOT talking about Cary Street Veterinary Hospital, but rather the Carytown EMERGENCY veterinary hospital. THEY ARE TWO VERY DIFFERENT PLACES. I have been taking my dogs to Cary Street Veterinary Hospital for years and they are wonderful doctors. I took my dog to cary street vet one saturday night when my vet was closed. They put her on a IV of medication and charged me $500.00. I took her to my regular vet on Monday they put her on a IV of medication and charged me $80.00. A couple of years later my dog had bumps under her skin and I thought that it was an allergic reaction to peanuts that I had given her the night before. She could not stop scratching herself. This was once again on the weekend when my regular vet was closed so I called the cary street vet to ask them if this could be an allergic reaction to the peanuts and the lady over the phone said that I needed to bring the dog in. I asked was there anything that I could give the dog for the scratching and she said she could not recommed anything until she seen the dog. She said that a nut could be stuck in the dogs throat. I knew that this was not it because the dog was eating and drinking fine. I just wanted something that they could recommend to help comfort her itching she was not sick she was playing with the other dogs. The lady repeated once again that she could not recommed anything until I brought the dog in. My opinion of this is that the true concern is not for the animal but for the payment that you have to pay for them to help your sick animal that we all know can sometimes feel like our own children. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO THE DOLLAR BILL AND THE HEALTH OF YOUR PET THE DOLLAR BILL IS FAR MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOUR PET AT CARY STREET VETERINARY HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
